Naughty Dog's creation was a title winner the year it came out, leaving thousands of fans who played it absolutely speechless at the end. Set in a post-apocalyptic world where most humans have been infected, the few humans who are left unaffected are trying desperately to survive and protect themselves. When Joel gets stuck on a mission to save Ellie and deliver her to a group that is trying to engineer a cure for humanity, players get the chance to explore more of this world either through Joel's or Ellie's eyes.

The ending comes as a shock to us when we see Joel lie to Ellie and protect her to selfishly keep her with him, at the cost of humanity finding a cure that could end everybody's misery. The moment when the end scene focuses on Ellie's face and then cuts to black, players find themselves confused, angry and melancholic- all at the same time!
