Top 15 Toughest Pokemon Battles of All-Time

#11 - Pokemon Trainer Red (HeartGold / SoulSilver)

It's sad to see a trainer as good as Red in HeartGold and Soulsilver not break into our Top Ten, but we just can't push him any higher.

He has the Highest-Leveled Team ever found in Pokemon - not even Wally's ORAS Rematch Team comes close - all being in the mid- to high-seventies. He has a team that greatly resembles Ash Ketchum's in the original Anime Series, but having all three Kanto Starters in their final evolution stage, along with Pikachu, Lapras, and Snorlax.

As we said, we wish we could rank him higher. But since three of his Pokemon are weak to Electric Type Pokemon and Pikachu is an easy One-Hit Knockout, it doesn't take too much to defeat this great trainer. But still, watch out. The sheer level of his Pokemon can be enough for him to defeat you.

#10 - Mewtwo Finale (Pokemon Stadium)

Mewtwo, the only solo Pokemon on this list, and what a Pokemon it is. If you remember this battle. you know just how frustrating it is to defeat it. Mewtwo has the power to literally destroy any Pokemon it wants, and if you even touch it, it will heal itself on the spot. It's crazy if you go at head first, and, most likely, it left you coming back for more.

Number Ten on our list doesn't give it the justice it deserves, but we could push it any higher up. The thing about this Mewtwo Battle is there is a way to easily defeat it. All a trainer must do is send out electrode on the first turn and paralyze it. Let Mewtwo kill Electrode so it doesn't heal itself, and then keep trying to horn drill it with all your remaining Pokemon. One will eventually land, and that's all it truly takes.

If the game didn't have this little glitch, or if Mewtwo could be hit by Automatic One-Hit Knockouts, then it probably could be ranked even number one.
