#6 – Lightning Farron – Final Fantasy XIII Trilogy

Before you begin saying how XIII trilogy has ruined Final Fantasy brand, hear me out. Firstly, the quality of the whole game is not necessarily relevant to the quality of the major protagonist. Secondly, many other things have taken place over the past years that have sourced the Final Fantasy brand than a few video games that sell quite well. Lastly, Lightning is just an awesome character.

She is not only very attractive, but also an extremely skilled fighter. Mostly, the females in the Final Fantasy video games are relegated to minor healer roles, petite ranged classes, or several other situations that force you to forget about most of them. Instead of being an object of a convoluted romance, she is the real definition of a hero. She takes charge of every situation perfectly well that she gets the job done.

Over the course of Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, we see her evolve from a rebellious soldier to a guardian of Etro, the goddess, and finally, she evolved to a time-travelling savior of the world. It is very rare that a character is so consistent over the course of several video games in the Final Fantasy universe. Lightning is absolutely the best character about the whole XIII trilogy.
