Most Anticipated Games of 2016
2. Quantum break
It is never strange to get a movie inspired by a game, (such as Hitman agent 47), thus it is equally not a once in a blue moon occurrence to find a game inspired by a movie or TV show episode. The latter aptly describes quantum break. This game has been inspired by the TV show episode and it is set to hit the gaming world on April 5th 2016.
So, what exactly is in this game? Quantum break is a third person shooter game exclusive to Xbox one (that's right; Xbox one). Now, for gamers who prefer different consoles to Xbox one, this statement is not quite welcome. Unfortunately, there is no cross-platform release for this game yet. The storyline is based on Jack Joyce, a guy who can manipulate time and this turns out to be one of his greatest defences throughout the game. Using several time manipulation tactics such as freezing time, you can set Jack Joyce to perform melee attacks on his attackers, release a “Time Blast”; which is an offensive projectile and much cooler; reverse the direction of bullets.
So how does Jack get his time manipulation powers? It is all about a time travel experiment gone wrong. The stage is set around and at Riverport university where after a time travel experiment gone bad, Jack Joyce and Paul Serene get time manipulation capabilities. Serene is the major antagonist in the game.
In quantum break, your fate is decided by you. As real as 2016 games are getting, Quantum Break offers you the chance to control your destiny; depending on how you play. The graphics are nothing to complain about and the gameplay is superb; definitely a game you want to catch.
1. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End
For those who will miss out on Quantum Break because you only have a PS4 console, here is a reprieve. Built for PS4 alone, Uncharted 4 is a third-person shooter game revolving around the life of Drake, 3 years after the events of Uncharted 3. In uncharted 4, Drake has settled for a normal life with his wife until Sam, Drake's brother who was long thought dead, resurfaces. He and Drake team up and together, they try to solve a mystery involving hidden treasure and gang of pirates. According to “Naughty Dog”, the developer of the game, Uncharted 4 has been designed to push Drake to the limits and test his resolve, physical limits and ultimately test how much he can sacrifice for his loved ones.
Uncharted has not been a let-down of a series and no disappointment is expected from the 4th instalment. Going by the trailer, this 4th instalment might be the best yet and all we have to do is to keep our fingers crossed and wait for the end result on launch day.
For those who have been following the release of this game, you must be aware of the teaser that was released on November 14th 2013. Speculations have been high concerning this game, especially after it failed to launch after the teaser; with some claiming that naughty dog still needed to refine it more. Finally, to the much appraisal of Uncharted fans, the game is soon getting out. How soon you may be asking? 26th April 2016; just after the Easter bunnies.
