Top 10 Video Game CS/Play Movies

03. Grand Theft Auto V

The very significant track record established by Rockstar Games for its GTA series makes this an obvious choice for this list, and not simply because it is one of the most influential game series of all time, or that it is one of the most copied.

An open world, action-adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, the fifth game in the core series was released on 17 September 2013 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 - and is scheduled for release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2014, and for Microsoft Windows in January 2015.

While it is not a direct sequel to 2008s Grand Theft Auto IV, the games are set within the same fictional universe, and actually have some overlap.

The game world is set in the state of San Andreas - which is based on Southern California - with a single-player story/campaign mode that closely follows three criminals and their interwoven adventures in crime.

GTAV was a departure from the established formula for the series in that, in place of a focus upon a single protagonist, the game contains three very well-developed protagonists, allowing the player to figure out which character most reflects their presence in the game.

Now it wouldn't be a Rockstar game if it did not have the clean lines and cool soundtrack, and the signature take on the world, fashion, and crime - a combination of factors that works very well within the realm of the game, and makes for a very movie-like flow.

Thanks to a well-edited play-through that tightly focuses on progress, the video embedded above presents all of the elements of an entertaining movie, cutting out the extensive downtime periods in which the player is doing what amount to character development side-quests and working on building wealth and XP.

As you watch the movie bear in mind that it numbers among the perfect examples of games that fits perfectly with the movie concept of the video game.
