10 Great Remakes that Deserve Another Remake

1. River City Ransom EX

The original River City Ransom is a ton of fun. You and a buddy can run through town, fighting ruffians along the way with a combo system that's surprisingly deep for an NES game while they say things like 'Barf!' when you defeat them. River City Ransom also had an RPG-lite element to it, in the form of books and food that can be bought to upgrade stats or learn new moves.

When River City Ransom got a port of sorts to the Game Boy Advance, this 'EX' versions got some improvements. A save system would keep your character stats saved (though not your actual progress), and allow you to swap character data with a friend to have them battle together. Unfortunately the co-op was taken out of the Game Boy Advance version, though an AI partner would assist you throughout the game, and could have the stats of one of your friend's characters. Players could also tweak the game in a variety of ways, including how the characters and enemies looked, the number of enemies on screen at once, and other things.

River City Ransom EX, however, suffered from a small print run, making it very difficult and expensive to find the game under normal means. Another remake would be ideal in this situation, to allow gamers to experience the game beyond the original NES version. The EX version not having true co-op is unfortunate, so another remake would be a good chance for the developers to add it back in while keeping (and maybe even expanding upon) the upgrades that the Game Boy Advance version has. Oh, and more people will get to experience this wonderful game, and that's always a good thing.

Conclusion:

There you have it, ten remakes that might just deserve another remake. What games do you think deserve a remake (whether they've been remade already or not)? Let us know!
