The Unofficial SuperCheats Top 10 Games So Bad they are actually Good...

07. Mercenaries 2

Starting with the bugs - and oh my God were there bugs! Need an example? Things in the world would just randomly blow up for no reason. Then there was the really really annoyingly messed up rag-doll physics it was created with: you are walking along the edge of a path and a pebble (a PEBBLE) causes you to trip...

And you slowly - oh-so-slowly - flop and slide and roll (sort of roll) and slide, and flop and , look we cannot even begin to give you an idea of how long that goes on for before you get back in control of your character!

Now considering the game that it is a direct sequel to, and the fact that the original Mercenaries was among the first really big open-world faction-based shooters that really helped to create the target bar with its wide selection of weapons, and its interesting spray-and-pray events and blow-it-to-hell physics, well, you might think that there is no way that they could take that sort of winning combination of elements and mess it up.

And then Mercenaries 2 arrived.

So yeah, it was really buggy and stuff, but it did still have the same premise as the original -- big open-world, wide variety of weapons, all sorts of things to do, and some funny writing, that even with the sort of bugs (some of them game-breaking) as it had, it was still so bad it was good!

Once you started playing the addictive quality of game play was such that you are easily disposed to overlook the bugs, the physics, and random shit blowing up all around you. Seriously!
