Dead Space Achievements

The Shooting Gallery can be found aboard the USM Valor. You can enter this ship in chapter 9 of Dead Space. Simply make your way through the ship until you get to an area where you're presented with a desk, and area you can't walk through due to a bar. Your ammo is unlimited in this, and it's highly suggested you use the Pulse Rifle. Shoot all of the blue targets that come up without hitting any of the red. Be warned, it can get fast, but it's not a hard achievement to unlock.

Probably one of the easiest achievements there are. The only way to really beat the game is to cut off the limbs of your enemies. That's the only thing that will kill them. Simply cut off 20 limbs to unlock this achievement. Note that you do not need to kill 20 enemies to do this. Most enemies need 2 - 3 of their limbs dismembered to kill them.

A gravity panel is a deadly problem for both you and your enemies. They can be found quite early on in the game. They are characterized by areas of the floor that are glowing a light blue and shooting particles up into the air. They are damaged parts of the gravity system that will kill anything that passes over them by slamming them against the ceiling. Simply have a gravity panel in between you and your enemy, and let them walk right into it. 8 out of 10 times, they will walk through it without trying to go around.

A tad harder than it sounds. If memory serves, the Zero-G Basketball was in chapter 10, right before you meet up with the Hunter for the second time. You'll need to go into this room to get one of the disks for the ship. It should be fairly straightforward to activate the game. Winning it, however, is a completely different thing. The ripper is probably one of the most overpowered weapons in this game. Simply fire off a saw blade under the primary fire and cut through 30 enemies. Each saw blade can be used to take out multiple enemies, so the achievement is easily obtainable should you choose to use this weapon a lot.

It's actually a common task to have to Zero-G jump throughout this game. In areas without gravity, your only way of getting around is to run along the walls, or leap from one surface to another. If you want to spam the jumps to get this achievement, simply find a Zero-G area that has been cleared of all enemies, and jump from one wall to another 100 times. Careful though. There are often times obstacles in your way that could prove deadly.

The Kinesis Module is obtainable in the second chapter of the game. Simply pick up any loose object, including dead bodies, and shoot them through the air. It really doesn't matter if the objects are shot at enemies or not. As long as they're thrown through the air by the Kinesis Module.

The Pulse Rifle is the only automatic weapon found in the Dead Space game that's actually meant to be used as a weapon. If aimed correctly, this weapon can be used to devastating results, so it wouldn't be uncommon for someone to go through the entire game with using this weapon only. Simply obtain the weapon, and shoot out any limbs on an enemy you see. Shouldn't take more than a few shots to put down an enemy, so this achievement can be obtained fairly quick.

This will take several playthroughs of the game, but it is an obtainable achievement. You're most likely to obtain this achievement if you purchase rig upgrades, weapons, and power nodes. At this rate of spending, you should be able to unlock this achievement by your second playthrough of the game.

This would be a somewhat harder achievement to obtain, seeing as the melee attacks for this game are so disorganized. If you enter combat with an enemy using melee only, you're more than likely going to take a few hits yourself. It is highly suggested that you use stasis on your enemy first before either stomping on or hitting it with your weapon. Else, you stand a chance of dying. It will take a few hits before any enemy will die, even on the easier difficulties. Note that if you overuse it, they will get wise and counter your hits.

The Line Gun fires a broad line burst of energy that can deal heavy damage. However, its power is reduced greatly if it hits any objects along the way, and its ammo is limited. If anything, I would suggest trying out this achievement after running around an area first. This should gather all of the Necromorphs up in one area as they try to approach you. Once they're all close to each other, fire off one line round to hit them all with only one shot. It should help you save ammo and get this achievement rather quick.

Don't push your luck with this achievement. Be fully aware that even though the Contact Beam is the most powerful weapon in the game, it takes a full second to charge up. Give yourself plenty of room between you and your enemy before trying to charge up one of these round. Being as powerful as it is, it really doesn't matter where you hit your enemy. Most shots will completely kill an enemy the first time.

This one could be a bit more difficult, as the Flamethrower is a touchy weapon. It deals damage over time, rather than immediately. Your enemies will still keep coming for you even if you wail away on them with this weapon. It's suggested that you hit an enemy with a Flamehtrower burst, then run. While they attempt to chase, they will eventually die.

Schematics are small blue items that are scattered throughout the game. Alone, they're useless and take up spots in your inventory. They only really work once you get one to a store so that they can be used to unlock item, rigs, and weapons. There are many of them all throughout the game if you look, so it's not all that hard of an achievement to unlock. Your biggest obstacle will be them taking up one slot in your inventory.

Your safe can be found at the store. If you have any items in your inventory that you don't want to sell, but use later in the game, simply select 'Move' and it will be stored in your Safe. The safe is unlimited in how much it can hold, and any 25 items will work. Easy one to get.

The Force Gun is easily comparable to a shotgun in this game. It doesn't do much to any damage at a distance, but if you let off a round up close to an enemy, it will knock them back, if not rip their limbs off in the process. Great weapon, so you'll most likely be using it a lot. It's easy to rack up 30 kills with this device.

The Plasma Cutter is the first weapon you'll receive in this game, so this achievement is one of the easiest weapon wise ones. In fact, considering how much you'll use this weapon throughout the game, you'll probably have unlocked this achievement upon completion of the first chapter of the game. Just hack away at the legs first, then the arms.

This achievement might take you some time, seeing as you have roughly four shots of stasis at any given time throughout the game. It has to be recharged at stations or with stasis packs. Saying that, this could take you several playthroughs before you can unlock this achievement. Simply aim and press Y to shoot a stream of Stasis at your enemy.

The Peng Treasure is located in the 10th chapter of the game. Somewhere along the later parts of that chapter, you'll enter the docking bay that you first came to the Ishimura on during the first chapter. Simply go to the walk where you had to exit the Kelleon on and go to roughly the same spot as it was. Look off to your left and towards the ground below, and you should see a small statue. Pick it up now that you have Kinesis and you will unlock the achievement.

Sounds easy, right? It's not. Logs are either in text form or voice form. All messages left behind by the crew for you to find. They're hidden all over the map and some can be quite hard to find. I suggest using a guide for this one.

If you manage to make it all the way through the game, this isn't a very hard achievement to get at all. Most enemies take 2 to 3 limb dismemberments to fully kill them. Seeing as there are a lot of enemies in this game, playing through it once while killing every enemy you see should get you this one.

Not actually that hard to do. There aren't all that many weapons, but it will take you a few playthroughs of the game to get this one. You'll need to collect all the weapon schematics, then buy the weapons from the store. In the long run, they aren't expensive. If you want to swap out your weapons, store them in the Safe, but don't sell them again.

This one will probably take you two playthroughs of the game. You can only get roughly 500 severed limbs from each playthrough. Just go for the legs, then the arms. Should apply to most enemies and do you well.

A hard achievement to get. You'll need to collect just about every voice and text log in the game to get this one. Doesn't matter if you play them or not, only that you pick them up. I highly suggest using a guide for this one.

This is a bit of an odd achievement. It's not hard per se, but it can be different if you only stick with one weapon. You'll need good aim and a steady trigger finger if you wish to survive on this one alone. The trick is to never fire another weapon (At enemy or just air) ever during your playthrough of the game. Only shoot the Plasma Cutter.

Your best chance at getting this one would be to set the game to the easiest possible setting, then complete all 12 of the chapters. Pretty straightforward, and not that hard.

A somewhat difficult achievement to get. You'll first need to buy all the weapons available in this game, then collect hundreds of power nodes. First upgrade your stasis, then the rig, then the Kinesis, and finally start completing your weapons. Note that this doesn't mean you need to fill up all slots on your Bench stations, only the node spots that will actually effect the weapon.

To even be able to unlock Impossible Mode, you'll need to first play through on normal or harder. After that, simply start a game on Impossible mode and make it all the way through the game. It can be challenging at times, but keep in mind that the Ripper, Force gun, Plasma Cutter, and Pulse Rifle will be your best chances.
