How do you volley on the 3DS version?

If you use Be a Pro mode, then set your trick pack to trick pack 1. Then, whilst playing a match, if you're close to the goal, click the button L and X at the same time. A skill will be performed where the ball is put in the air. While it is still in the air, shoot... And you will probably get a volley!
However if you use Career Mode, Tournaments or just playing a game, then the players have their trick packs pre-installed. Try to always click L and X when you're near the goal. Some players do the air-ball trick (Sorry I don't know what it's called...) But some do step-overs. So try and use the air-ball players if you want a volley.
Alternatively, you could lob the ball to the striker, and when the lob is still in flight, you can shoot. Volley done!
