10 Methods Of Getting Shiny Pokemon

Here are some methods of getting Shiny Pokemon...

1. Masuda Method

Obtain a Pokemon not from your country, and breed it with a Pokemon from your country. The chances of getting Shinies goes up a little.

Note: This takes FOREVER.

2. Pokemon Radar Chaining

This is only after beating the game. Go to Professor Sycamore's lab, and go to the 2nd Floor to the guy standing next to the computer showing images of the Pokemon Trubbish (Why Trubbish?!). He will give you the Poke Radar. Stand in a patch of grass (WALK there, NOT ROLLERSKATE.) and select the Poke Radar. Multiple patches of grass will shake, indicating where the Pokemon are hiding.

Note: DO NOT go to patches of grass near the edge of the tall grass area where you're standing, and DO NOT go to patches that are further than 4-5 spaces away from you.

3. Trading

An easy method is trading Pokemon with someone else, but if the person isn't feeling generous, it might be hard to convince them to trade over a shiny Pokemon.

Note: Some Pokemon might be hacked, and hacked Pokemon might corrupt your Save File, forcing you to start over.

4. Friend Safari

You'll need friends with a 3DS to do this, and this is only after gaining access to Kiloude City. Run around in your Friend's Friend Safari, keeping an eye out for any oddly colored Pokemon that could be hiding somewhere.

Note: This can be hard to do without any friends (or friends without 3DSs.)

5. Hoard Encounter

Bring some Honey (Or a Pokemon with the move Sweet Scent if you don't have any Honey) and stand in the Tall Grass while using the Item/Move to attract 5 Pokemon. There might be a chance of Shinies (Or Pokemon with Hidden Abilities).

Note: If you find a shiny Zangoose in a hoard of Seviper (Or vice versa) the Seviper (Or Zangoose, if it's a shiny Seviper) might kill the Zangoose (Or Seviper, if it's in a hoard of Zangoose) before you catch it.

6. Shiny Charm

Getting the Shiny Charm is a challenge, as you need ALL the Pokemon in the National Dex (Yes, all of them, even the Legendaries) before you get it. The Shiny Charm increases the chance of encountering a Shiny Pokemon in the wild.

Note: This might take forever to get, especially if you have KOed all the Legendaries in your game or don't have games from previous generations (You can transfer some of your hard earned Pokemon via Pokemon Bank.).

7. Soft Resetting

This is a method that people use to get Shiny Legendaries (Black Rayquaza, anyone?) or Shiny Starters (I herd you liek pink mudkipz) at the start of the game. Turn off your game repeatedly (Remember to save first!) until you get a Shiny Pokemon.

Note: This might take forever, and NOT ALL LEGENDARIES are obtainable shiny (This means you can't get a golden Arceus or a Yveltal that looks like bacon)

8. Hacking/Powersave

Yes, I said Hacking, and this is the only way to get Shiny Locked Legendaries ("Shiny Locked" is Pokemon lingo for a Pokemon not obtainable in it's Shiny Form legitimately). Try not to use this for Official Competitions, or you might get caught by Nintendo!

Note: This is also how you get Latias's and Latios's Mega Evolutions, as well as the Mystery Gift legendaries Diancie (Some pink rock that is similar to Carbink), Hoopa (Some purple thing that looks like it has a "me gusta" face), and Volcanion (Some stupid rhino that blows steam out of the donut shaped thing on it's back)

9. Chain Fishing

Similar to Pokemon Radar Chaining in a way. Repeatedly use the Super Rod/ whatever rod you have until you get a shiny.

Note: If you happen to find a Shiny Basculin, it might use the move Final Gambit, which will knock the user out.
