The first way to dodge a blue shell is to have a star which is very unlikely since your in first place. The next thing is a mushroom, so when the blue shell flys in circles then stops you must B/L to use the mushroom then it will land where you were before you used the mushroom

The next way to dodge a blue shell is take any spare time you have to look at the bottom screen and see if anyone has a blue shell. It might be kind of hard to look at both screens at once so maybe you can get a really good friend to watch the bottom screen for you while you can race. When someone has a blue slam the brakes and let someone take your place then they will get hit, make sure that you don't get to close because you will get caught in the explosion.

There are only 3 reasons why you shouldn't why you shouldn't let someone take your place

1. When the blue shell has already been launched you can't do anything but try to get next to someone so that they get caught in the explosion

2. If you are to close to the finish line and you can make it without getting hit

3. If you are to far ahead from the other players. You can see if you are too far if you can't see anyone else on the bottom screen.
