We have several Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair cheats and tips that will help you in this platform hybrid adventure where you take on a series of challenging side-scrolling levels that involve solving puzzles. The game is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair Cheats and Tips

In Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, you rally Queen Phoebee's Royal Bee-tallion to take down Capital B and his Impossible Lair so that you thwart his evil plan of using a 'Hivemind' device to enslave an entire kingdom of bees. To do this you will need to combine the abilities of the two heroes, Yooka and Laylee as you venture out and explore the Overworld.

• Gathering of Tents

  The tent that appears near the entrance to the Impossible Lair after you have finished the first level represents the housing for the Beetalion soldiers. As you complete more chapters and rescue more of the Beetalion soldiers more of these tents will appear there. The Queen will tell you whether to attempt the fight against Capital B, or continue looking for additional Beetalion Soldiers.

• Complete Pagie Challenge Levels

  You must complete these as doing so alters the Overworld, opening new areas for exploration. You will be able to attempt these Challenge Levels upon encountering Pagie NPCs in the Overworld.

  You will be taken to a single-screen challenge room where you will be tasked with eliminating the enemies. Once all of the enemies in the challenge area have been defeated, it will be completed.

• Unlock Alternate Chapters

  Each of the 20 Chapters in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair has an altered version that you can unlock. These alternate versions will often put a new twist on the area and open up additional areas you can explore.

  They will each also contain new challenges, 1 Beettalion soldier, and 5 T.W.I.T. Coins. To progress in the game these alternate chapters must be completed.

• Paywalls

  Trowzer is an NPC that teaches Yooka and Laylee abilities at the cost of quills. He also has paywalls separating sections of the world and the only way that you can pass them is to have enough T.W.I.T. Coins.

  In each of Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair's 40 levels, there are 5 coins you can find. You don't need to find all the coins in a level, just enough to satisfy the paywall.

• Get More Quills

  You will discover that to unlock the alternate level of some of the chapters you will require Quills. Ghost Quills act as a challenge to earn more Quills in Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. There are 5 different coloured Quills which each behave in different ways.

  Ghost Quills can sometimes be found inside crates with a Quill symbol on them, or throughout different levels. Other than Fee-Dee, every Ghost Quill will award you with a T.W.I.T Coin or a Quillion. Just playing through the game normally should give you enough Quills anyway. Quills can also be collected repeatedly during the levels.

• Gritty Comic Tonic

  This extremely hard-to-find FX overlay Tonic adds a black-and-white filter changing the game to look like a gritty black-and-white comic book. You will be able to find it by going to Nimbo in Area 4 (the lake area with Chapter 12 and Chapter 13) climbing onto the wooden fence and roll-jumping to reach the right-most post. If you then Buddy Stomp into this post you will find the Tonic. It costs 1,000 Quills to buy.
