Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2015 is a very comprehensive game and can seem overwhelming at first. The tutorial will only teach you the basics so it is recommended if you are unclear on anything that you read the official rulebook which is available from wizards of the coast.

It is important that you pay attention when doing the tutorial because once you have finished it you will not be able to change the deck you chose. You can however change your deck before finishing the tutorial.

If you are new to the game and are building your own deck it is recommended that you trim your library. Keep it to 60 cards. You will have a much greater chance of getting the card you need, when you need it, if you have 60 cards instead of 80+.

On the back of Magic The Gathering cards there is a colour-wheel with each colour representing a certain playstyle. Listed below are some good pairings you might want to consider.

White + Green or Blue

Blue + White or Black

Black + Blue or Red

Red + Black or Green

Green + Red or White

If you are starting out in the game it is advised that you avoid a mono-colour deck until you get better. Stick with a 2 colour deck, only attempt a 3 coloured deck once you have really gotten better at the game.
