 3.01] Prologue [0301]
==============================================================================

The game starts off in a flashback of Ghat killing Father-Mother. He slips
unconscious and you are given control of Ghat.

The mysterious creature in front of Ghat is his teacher, Metamoq. Your
training begins with a good old-fashioned bird-kicking lesson. Walk towards
one of the chickens and look down. If you press the Right Trigger while
looking down, you will kick. Kick a few birds around to please Metamoq.

Your next lesson is combat with the teacher. Lock onto Metamoq with Y, then
attack him by holding down the Right Trigger. Holding down the button will
result in a three-punch combo as opposed to one punch. Using the Left Trigger
results in a strong, but slow attack.

You cannot survive on offense alone, as you must block enemy attacks. Hold
down A to block. Blocking lowers your stamina, so successfully blocking an
attack will not damage you, but will lower your stamina. When you are tired
(no stamina left), you cannot block and your attacks are much weaker; wait
until the stamina meter refills itself automatically. You can dodge attacks
by holding down A and moving the Left Analog Stick.

Metamoq will summon a hallucination to serve as another target. Lock onto it,
then move the Right Analog Stick so you are looking at the real deal. Press Y
to change targets.

Begin attacking the hallucination until it is stunned. Walk up to it to
automatically grab it. Pressing the Right Trigger while ahold of an opponent
will cause you to use a kneebash attack, or you can move the Left Analog Stick
and hit the Right Trigger to throw the target.

Afterwards, Ghat will wake up and the training session will end.

==============================================================================
 3.02] Fugitive [0302]
==============================================================================

You are thrown into the action right away as Father-Mother's children are hot
on your tail. Three of them arrive and taunt you as your friend, Deadra, tries
to open up the gate for a quick escape. All you can do is stand there at your
opponents, since they would rather yell at you from a distance than attack.
Once Deadra opens the gate, the battle will begin.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                          Gastornis/Rimat/Onpa

For your first battle, a three-on-one cheap shot seems quite unfair. You will
have to put your training to the test on three of Father-Mother's offspring.
Focus on one enemy at a time. I suggest leaving Rimat for last, since she is
the toughest (but not by much). Gastornis and Onpa both have very basic combat
skills, but Rimat can block and utilize swift kicks.

Next to the gate is a barrel with a shiny yellow fruit resting on top. You can
eat fruit to regain lost health. The enemies are underdeveloped this early in
the game and it is unlikely that all three will gang up on you together. They
usually let you face off against one before another steps in after they've
failed their duties. It sounds a lot worse than it really is.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the three enemies have been held off, Ghat sneaks under the gate and goes
unconscious again. Another training session/hallucination!

Pick up the rifle in front of you. Aim with the Left Trigger, then shoot one
of the chickens by pressing the Right Trigger. Reload with X. Metamoq will now
throw chickens over a fence; you must shoot them as they trot around before
they stop moving. Easy stuff. A hallucination will appear on your side of the
fence. Lock onto him to put the gun away. If you want to throw your gun away,
press A.

Once you're done playing his little game, pick up the Skull Bomb. Use the B
Button to throw it at the chicken and watch the feathers fly. Back to the real
world!

Deadra says that they are bringing out Bugbirds to hunt you down. Turn around
and sprint (Right or Left Bumper) forward towards the huts in the center. On
the right side is a box and a Shotgun lying next to it. If you can't find it
after a certain while, an in-game arrow will appear to show you its location.

Pick up the shotgun and wait for the Bugbirds to crawl through the gate. These
creatures can lunge at you from afar, and you are equipped with a gun that
makes you get in up close to dish out full damage. You may take a few hits,
but there is some fruit near the central huts.

Once the Bugbirds are dead, walk over to Deadra and look up at her. Onpa
pushes her to the ground and opens the gate.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                         Xetse/Rimat/Gastornis

It's another triple team, but this time you have an equalizer. One of your
opponents has a grenade launcher. Get it out of their hands before you sustain
a huge hit from the weapon. Use a Skull Bomb or your shotgun to knock the gun
away from them. This is a powerful weapon that you can use for yourself, or
you can simply stick with the shotgun.

Immediately shotgun the first person that runs up to you and keep on gunnin'.
Remember that the clip is only three, so you will have to reload. If this is
the case, sprint behind the huts and reload, then wait for them to follow and
continue blasting.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The chapter ends once you have put an end to the trio.

 3.03] Away From Halstedom [0303]
==============================================================================

You start the level off with a crossbow, which will come in hand as you
navigate the marshes. There is a spear on the side of the road not too far
from the entrance that will prove more useful than the crossbow. Beetles will
fly in, and the Spear can kill them much easier than the crossbow. Defeat them
and continue on.

A few Rath-Birds will crawl out from the grass just around the corner. These
creatures are weak, but have a vomit projectile attack that can be damaging.
Either wait for them to jump over the fence and punch them or shoot them while
they still navigate the tall grass.

There is plenty of fruit on the sides of the road if you look carefully. More
Rath-Birds and beetles will block your path, so defeat them and move along the
trail.

When you get near the gate, Deadra will open it for you. Spring forward to end
the level. That's it?! Yeah, this game is short. It has a crapload of
chapters, but most of them are painfully short like this one. Deal with it.

==============================================================================
3.04] The Corwid of the Free [0304]
==============================================================================

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                           Talonco/Macra/Andro

These Corwid of the Free are a strange bunch of folks. They're like crazy
neo-hippies. At least the game teaches you some advanced combat techniques in
order to take them down. In order to perform a super charged punch, press back
and then hit the Left Trigger. While sprinting, you can press the Right or
Left Trigger for a swift elbow smash.

Talonco is particularly annoying because he has the obnoxious habit of ducking
the majority of your attacks. Try and perform an elbow smash to stun him, then
continue with a combo. The Corwids also use projectile attacks, namely
pebbles, to pester you from a distance. They don't hurt much, but you can
interrupt their attacks with a three-punch combo or strong attack.

While it may seem cheap, a good technique is to kick a man while he's down.
You can easily spam a kick to kill a downed enemies, but it is unadvised if
there are multiple enemies around because you are leaving yourself open to
attack. If it's just one-on-one or other enemies are dazed, then go ahead and
kick your opponent to death.

After the first three die, another Macra joins in (according to the game's
character bios there are two Macras that have unique appearances, so maybe
they are siblings with the same name or something). Refill your health with
the fruit at the base of the tree, then finish Macra off.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The game enters a flashback when Ghat was a Corwid. He is currently trapped in
a wooden cage alongside a fellow Corwid, ready to be eaten by the colossal
Gabel.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                Animasta/Andro

You must fight Animasta and Andro in the confines of the cage. You start off
fighting just Animasta while Andro watches. Once she is defeated, Andro drops
down wielding a bone. It's a big bone though, and can leave a huge welt on
your noggin if you get bashed around with it. Punch Andro once, then pick up
the bone and use it against him.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                         Gabel

Gabel smashes the cage open, slightly annoyed that his dinner is putting up a
fight. When against heavyweight opponents like Gabel, you can only damage them
with bashing weapons. Pick up the bone and get ready to show him who's boss.
First things first, run out of the cage and into the open.

Typically, you cannot hit a heavyweight head-on, or else they will block the
attack and counter with a quick swipe. Utilize your speed and sprint behind or
to the side of Gabel and whack him a few times. Gabel has a few slow punch
attacks that he may use, but for the most part he doesn't even really attack
that much. If you stay at a distance, however, Gabel can catch up to you with
a devastating ram attack.

After hitting Gabel a few times, he'll put his hands over his head in fear.
The next attack will be an overhead smash that'll knock the big fell to the
ground. Wait for him to get up and continue the process. Your strong attack is
a charged swipe, which is incredibly powerful but must be timed right. You can
try it out a few times, but stick with the Right Trigger for the most part.

There should be some fruit on the side of the cage outside. You may not need
them that much, but they are there to help. The battle is straightforward: hit
Gabel three or so times, use the overhead swing, wait for him to get up, rinse
and repeat.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the fight, you will confront Macra and Macra. I'm pretty sure they
appear one at a time, but it doesn't really matter since the bone is a wicked
bashing weapon.

NOTE: The coveted Easter Egg is here in this chapter. Before killing the
Macra brothers, go behind the left side of the cage and underneath the
giant tree. Look against one of the tree trunks to find a pair of
rainbow-colored Easter Eggs! Pick one up to get the "Easter Egg"
Achievement! It's a bit easier to find if you look for the white
       outlined arrow overhead.

==============================================================================
 3.05] The Woods [0305]
==============================================================================

Another flashback. Holy wow, Oxameter is cool. He just does his own thang
without a care in the world.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                  Tcholk/Macra

You start the level off with Duel Fish Guns. They are cool weapons that pack a
punch despite its size. Test 'em out on Tcholk and Macra, though you may want
to resort to your fists to take out the two Corwids. The Duel Fish Guns have a
large magazine clip, but don't really deal all that much damage. Strangely
enough, your fists work better against these two goons than guns do.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walk forward to find the other Macra, who runs away immediately after being
spotted. Follow him to get caught in an ambush.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                          Andro/Animasta/Macra

Again, the Duel Fish Guns may not be that useful against a combined three
Corwids. Ditch the guns and take out Macra before Andro and Animasta appear
from the other side of the trail. Andro brings a Roothammer to the party,
which is much more powerful than the bone we were using before.

Take the Roothammer and go to down on Andro and Animasta. They should put up
little fight when wielding the awesome Roothammer.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another Macra appears as you continue through the woods. Maybe there are more
than one of these Corwids. I don't really know. Kick his feathery tail and
continue into the wooded area as you hear the eery cackle of Helim.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                         Helim

You heard the stories about Helim. He's some creepy freak that removes the
eyes of anything that stands in his way. Helim is very fast and is capable at
both blocking and dodging most of your attacks. His quick slashes can take out
a nice bit of your health, but as long as you have the Roothammer, all should
go well.

Since you cannot block while holding weapons, simply back away from Helim when
he is ready to attack. Once you see an opening, begin walking towards him and
press the Right Trigger to smack him across the face. Back up again and keep
at it, or just kick Helim while he's on the ground like a chump.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Use the wooden plank to cross over the fallen tree and pick up the Skull Bomb.
You'll see Oxameter trudging along: he wants nothing to do with you, so ignore
him and head forward towards the dead end.

Rath-Birds will climb into the wooded area and attack; either use the
Roothammer or the spear at the base of one of the trees. You may want to go
with the spear, since a few beetles fly down and attack as well; they're
easier to kill with the spear. Once the familiar battle tune starts up, you
will know that something is about to go down.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                         Helim

Helim just doesn't know when to quit. He hops over the tree trunk and runs
towards you. Aim and toss the spear to stun Helim, then pick up the Roothammer
and re-introduce him to your new friend. As always, there is plenty of fruit
here in the woods if you are in dire need of health at any point in the fight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chapter over. Next.

==============================================================================
 3.06] Metamoq [0306]
==============================================================================

Before Metamoq can hurt you (for whatever reason), he has three more abilities
to teach you. First off, use a strong attack to break your enemy's defenses.
Hit him with a strong attack, then follow up by hitting the Right Trigger for
a nasty kick to the gut.

Next up is an evade attack. Dodge one of Metamoq's punches, then retaliate by
hitting the Right Trigger for a counter. You will now have to time your
blocks: it can be tricky, but press A right before Metamoq clocks you to
deflect the attack and stun your opponent briefly. Do it once more, but then
attack to dish out a serious counterattack.

With these techniques taught to you, Metamoq will kick apart some mushrooms
for aesthetic purposes and challenge you to a duel.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                       Metamoq (Hallucination)

Oh crap, that wasn't for aesthetic purposes?! Apparently it's THOSE types of
mushrooms, since Ghat begins tripping out and sees three hallucinations of
Metamoq. The three illusions fight just like the real thing, so use your
newfound techniques against them. Especially blocking. Blocking is key in this
game, especially as you progress and the enemies become much tougher.

Unlike previously, these guys have no trouble ganging up on you at once. Use
the lock-on method to quickly switch between targets. If you don't want to be
locked onto a target, then run backwards. It's very difficult to attack an
enemy while locked onto another, so switching targets is important here.

The Metamoq hallucinations keep coming, though you start off with just three.
After killing a random amount, Ghat will return to his senses.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                       Metamoq

It's the real deal! Metamoq acts just like the hallucinations, but has much
more health and blocks more often. He also has a devastating spin kick which
is pretty obvious when he uses it. If you see him crouch on the ground, back
away as he performs a spinning back kick that'll knock you flat on your back.
Unfortunately, there is no fruit here, so that's all you've got in terms of
health.

Unlike fighting the hallucinations, there is only one target here. That's
certainly a relief. This fight is actually pretty easy as long as you block
non-stop and be patient. Metamoq will block most of your own attacks, so it is
key that you block his own and counter to lower his defenses and throw him
off-guard so you can further retaliate. Plus, kicking him always helps. :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Metamoq subdues you after you have drained his health bar. Like any good,
sane, non-crazy hippie teacher would do, Metamoq kills himself after realizing
that he has taught Ghat everything that he knows. Oh well, onto the desert!

 3.07] Hunter Hunter [0307]
==============================================================================

Ghat sets off to find some food for he and Deadra. Don't bother exploring the
desert, since you can't. If you stray from the beaten path, the screen will
turn red and you will be mauled by Sand Worms until you return to the trail.
Simply follow the trail around the rock wall towards a large tree. Ghat will
find Oxameter, who seems to have finally been stopped. *tear*

Pick up the Duel Fish Guns next to Oxameter's body. A herd of Mucalosauruses
is up ahead. They look pretty weird, like a cross between a tapir and a
Brontosaurus. They are harmless though, so walk past them and to the left
towards the small camp.

There should be a rabbit or two grazing near the camp. Shoot it three times
with the Duel Fish Gun to kill it. They are speedy and will likely run away,
so sprint after and land a clean hit. Bag the rabbit and look between the camp
and the herd of Mucalosauruses for two more rabbits. Once you have collected
three rabbits, return to Deadra for a scene.

The Hunter will beckon Ghat back towards the camp. When you return to the
camp, he will jump on top of a Mucolosaurus and start the battle.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                    The Hunter

The Hunter may be blind, but that does not mean he cannot find you. He enlists
in the help of Squirrel-Bombs to help track down your location. The Hunter
stays on top of the Mucalosaurus, clearly out of range of your fists - and
even out of range of the Duel Fish Guns. Luckily, the Hunter is a fair fighter
and gives you a rifle to use against him.

As the Hunter stays on top of the Mucolosaurus, he will drop Squirrel-Bombs
down on you. These squirrels have explosive barrels tied to their back, and
the Hunter will fire a shot at the barrel to ignite it. At this point, these
creatures are basically walking timebombs. If one is lit, sprint away from it
before it explodies in your face.

In order to take out Squirrel-Bombs, kick them. You can fire at them with your
rifle, but all that does is ignite the barrel and essentially put you in
harm's way. Note that dead Squirrel-Bombs will still be targeted by the
Hunter, since the explosives are still active even though the carrier may be
deceased.

Even though the Hunter is way up above, you can still easily target him with
the rifle. To get a better view of him, sprint to either side of the
Mucolosaurus since it is hard to get a good shot of him if you are standing
directly in front of the creature.

Try to split your time evenly between the Hunter and the Squirrel-Bombs.
Before you know it, you will be overrun by squirrels if you keep your eye on
the target too long. Shoot the Hunter three times, kick the Squirrel-Bombs,
reload, then repeat the process.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Mucalosaurus shows the Hunter who's boss and Deadra runs down right after
the commotion ends. Coincidence? I think not. Anyways, more flashbacks.

 3.08] Ghat's Story [0308]
==============================================================================

Ghat tries to infiltrate the Northern Gate Bar, but he does not know the
password. Turn around and enter the room with the woman inside. Talk to her:
she will give you the password after you do her bidding and return her stolen
goods.

Exit the house. There's a lot of strange people in Halstredom; check 'em all
out! Pick up the various Skull Bombs and note the location of the fruit and
shotgun here. Go to the right of the shotgun and look up to spot a red-haired
fella. He drops down and a cutscene begins.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                              Mechanic/Tsekung

Immediately run to the right and pick up the shotgun lying next to the two
fruit. Pummel Mechanic, then run after Tsekung, who has a crossbow ready to
fire. Shoot him point-blank, then continue taking turns between the two thugs.
If you need time to reload, run around the back alleys to buy time. You should
beat these two guys no sweat.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The red-haired thief sicks a group of Bugbirds on you. You still have your
shotgun, so put it to use. If you feel that the gun isn't working out against
the Bugbirds, then pick up the crossbow Tsekung was using. Once you have
defeated the monsters, look in the back alley to confront the thief.

                                                                          Jsaj

Strange name, strange name indeed. Jsaj is a tough opponent, carries around
Duel Fish Guns, and can even recruit Mechanic and Tsekung to do his bidding.
Shoot him with your shotgun to knock him down to the ground, then continue
blasting away the second he gets up.

After reducing about half his health, Jsaj will whistle and the two goons from
before will get up. Turn your attention to Mechanic and Tsekung now, blasting
each one in the face with the shotgun. Jsaj doesn't even join in on the fun,
so you only have to worry about these two guys for now.

Once they are taken care of (again), Jsaj will be ready to fight. He'll try
and pick up any gun he can find, whether it be the crossbow or the Duel Fish
Guns or the shotgun if you dropped it. Don't let him utilize any sort of
weaponry, as it really puts you at a disadvantage. The cheapest and best
tactic is to just spam the shotgun over and over again. If you need a
breather, run away (it's a pretty large area) and reload. There's a few pieces
of fruit here if you need it at any time during the two fights.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The woman gives Ghat the password, so proceed towards the door to be granted
access to the Northern Gate Bar.

 3.09] Northern Gate Bar [0309]
==============================================================================

There are a lot of strange people/things here in the bar. Take a stroll around
the bar and check out all the weird things. After listening to the bartender's
conversation with the local drunk, walk towards the door across from the bar
and grab the hammer being used to keep the door shut.

After a while of talking, one of the creatures will talk to you. The bartender
asks Ghat where he is headed, and the monster offers to take you to
Father-Mother. Follow him and approach the door to exit the bar. Follow him to
confront Father-Mother.

One particular member of the Northern Gate Gang doesn't take too kindly to you
confronting Father-Mother. This particular someone also happens to be a giant
elephant creature. Another heavyweight, great.

You should have the hammer in your possession, which you can use to damage
Deinother. He has the same attacks as Gabel, but Deinother's charge attack is
much quicker and ends with a vicious headbutt. As soon as you hear the
trumpeting sound of Deinother, sprint to the left or right to get out of the
way. Once he stops charging or hits something, whack his back with the hammer.

Sometime during the fight, Chtlana sides with Deinother. This creepy green rat
lady shouldn't put up much of a fight. Only focus on her when Deinother is
dazed or flat on the ground. A few hammer swings should knock her senseless.

The guy who led you to Father-Mother and the dude you tricked, Entelo, wants
some revenge. He can certainly get it, since he's carrying around a grenade
launcher. He stays on the outskirts of the arena, near the fruit patch, as he
kneels to the ground in order to use the grenade launcher. A good idea is to
always use a Skull Bomb on enemies that have to kneel in order to aim a
weapon. They won't be able to get up and escape in time.

If you have one, toss a Skull Bomb Entelo's way, then finish him off with a
few punch combos. Now it's down to the rat sisters: Cthlana and Chlara.
Cthlana is packing some heat with Duel Fish Guns while Chlara has jack squat.
Use the grenade launcher on both of them for a quick and easy victory.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Father-Mother runs away whilst ignoring Ghat, leaving more questions than
answers. Figures.

 3.10] End World [0310]
==============================================================================

We go from a clear-as-day desert to a strange shadowy realm. Just what
happened during that flashback? Approach the group of statues and pick up the
torch they are holding. Probably not the best idea. After waking up the
statues, smack them a few times with the torch to defeat them.

Light the torch on the nearby candle and follow the wall to the left. More
Shadows will rise from the ground. Either hit them up-close or aim and press
the Right Trigger to hurl a fireball at them. Defeat them and round the corner
to reach a pyre. Light it with your torch to open a new area.

Go through to reach another candle and some more Shadows. Just for the record,
you can use your torch to absorb their fireball attacks if you time your torch
swing right. If you absorb 30 fireballs you will get an Achievement, so it may
be worth it if you invest enough time to perform this risky task.

Destroy the Shadows and continue along the path. Along the way, you will
encounter an Electric Beholder floating above a candle. Toss a fireball at it
to destroy it and re-light your torch at the candle.

Head to the next pyre and light it to push back some of the fog. Again,
another wave of Shadows need to be destroyed before you can move on. Follow
the wire that extends from the pyre to another candle. Refuel your torch fire
and head forward to another pyre. Light it and continue to reach another
candle. Repetitive, I know...

When you reach a sea of fog, light the pyre at the fog's edge. A bridge will
begin to form inside the fog, so walk behind the pyre and onto the trail that
opens up. Follow it to the candle, light your flame, then walk to the right of
the candle to reach the other side of the fog. Wait for Deadra to cross and
approach the giant double door.

 3.11] Throne [0311]
==============================================================================

Even though your torch is out, you can still light the candle in front of you
by hitting it repeatedly until sparks fly and produce a flame. There are two
more candles that need to be lit. Shadows will emerge and try to put out the
candles (or at least that's what the game says). I personally have only seen
them try to do it once.

Shadows never stray away from you in order to put out a candle somewhere else.
They always follow Ghat and if you are standing close enough to a candle, they
may opt out of fighting in order to try and put out the candle next to you.
But they should never get that close to you anyways. It's a simple and stupid
task, but once you have lit all three candles the exit opens.

The throne room features four candles. Again, Shadows don't post much of a
threat so it's not like you are going to have to run between candles to
dispose of the nuisances. Just take it one at a time, and if any Shadows come
too close, kill them. Once you have illuminated the room, approach the throne
to encounter Golem. He looks mean, but is a pretty chill guy. He'll be taking
us home now and offer his help as a companion.

 3.12] Return [0312]
==============================================================================

This chapter is a big waste of time. It's basically all story progression.
Ghat, Deadra, and Golem are stuck on a boat as they head back to Halstedom.
You have little navigation room on the boat and are equipped with a rifle.
Every so often, Mucalosaurus Worshippers will run alongside the riverbank and
throw pebbles at the crew. Shoot 'em dead (Deadra will help too) and simply
wait until you reach the end of the river. Boring.

==============================================================================
 3.13] Dancing Mad [0313]
==============================================================================

Finally, back to the good stuff! Follow Golem through the swamp to the camp
site up ahead.

Ghat/Deadra
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                            Chneero/Tcholk/Andro/Talonco/Macra

We've got quite a party here. Chneero is the ringleader here, and he must be
taken out first. The guy doesn't even fight you and continues to play music
that strengthens and supports his brethren. He spins around non-stop, and the
large stick he carries may swing and hit you, but otherwise Chneero is
completely defenseless. Throw a Skull Bomb or two to clear the crowd (and hurt
Chneero), then focus on the dancing madman.

Chneero's death causes quite a ruckus, as the other Corwid will be pretty
upset. Use your crossbow and sprint far away, then fire a few shots off at
each Corwid. One of the Corwids has a Roothammer, so you can certainly use
that to finish off the stragglers. If you lure the Corwid over to Deadra, she
will be able to shoot some of them with her rifle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Refill your health at the far end of the camp and return to Deadra and Golem.
Golem didn't really help out at all, but he insists that he'll offer his
services to you when the time is right. Whatever.

Oh hey, heavyweight alert! Guess that Roothammer will come in handy. Pummel
Gabel as he appears behind you until he flees into the swamp. Follow him as
two Rath-Birds jump in behind him. Defeat the two birds before you focus on
Gabel once again. There are two fruit here if you need them as well. Snag them
and continue attacking Gabel before he runs off again.

This time, he runs over to the campsite where Chneero and friends occupied.
Again, two more Rath-Birds join the fray. Finish them off with the Roothammer
and again turn your attention to Gabel. He seems to be a scaredy-cat, so it
should not take much effort to take him down.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After Gabel has been defeated, return to Deadra and Golem to end the chapter.

 3.14] Found [0314]
==============================================================================

Golem suggest that you forage for food once again. Search through the bramble
patch for some more rabbits while fending off beetles. You should find a few -
three is all you need. Spear them and collect all three in your pouch, then
return to Golem.

Golem will hear a group of voices in the distance. It's your brothers and
sisters once again! Rimat confronts Ghat while Pott, another offspring of
Father-Mother, goes to get help.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                         Rimat

Rimat is still tough. I'm pretty sure she is without a doubt the toughest out
of Father-Mother's children (besides you of course). She is very agile and has
an arsenal a deadly kick attacks. Her back kick can knock you on the ground,
and she now uses a spinning handstand kick that can hit you multiple times.

Immediately throw your spear at Rimat to start the fight, then kick the
defenseless woman while she's down on the ground. Classy, yeah! You can also
throw a Skull Bomb while Rimat is on the floor defenseless to take a huge
chunk out of her health.

Eventually, Pott will return with reinforcements. They include his siblings
Xetse, Henae, and Corwids Helim and Macra. Navigate the bramble patches to
split up the enemies (by now Rimat should hopefully be out of action). Run
around in circles around the bramble to confuse and lose your opponents, then
retaliate when they follow. Try to break the crowd up and take out the two
Corwids first since they are easy pickings.

Once it's down to the three siblings, Like whenever you fight against multiple
enemies, focus on one at a time. You should be able to survive considering the
massive amount of fruit here in the bramble patch.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Return to Golem for a scene.

 3.15] Seeking Father-Mother [0315]
==============================================================================

Ghat will navigate through the sewers of Halstedom. It's really dark here, but
all you need to know is to walk forward. Along the way, long vines will block
your progress. Shoot the flower as it emerges from the water with your shotgun
to get them out of your way. You will eventually reach a glowing green sewer
grate. Look up at it to emerge in the streets of Halstedom.

Head down the street and watch Fat-Face stumble his way along. Continue past
him for another cutscene as you reach Father-Mother's home.

Ghat

                                                      Raganee/Mechanic/Cthlana

Run back towards the sewers to encounter Raganee and Cthlana. Shotgun both to
death, then take the rifle from Raganee's corpse. Mechanic is up on the
rooftops, shooting at you with a crossbow. He is on the far end of the street,
past the sewer grate. Use the rifle to target and kill him.

Ghat

Like the other trio, one of them is high up on the rooftops. Chlara is hanging
out on the roof, but this time on the opposite end of the street overlooking
Father-Mother's house. Use your rifle to take care of her first. You can
either run back and retrive the shotgun to use against Jsaj and Entelo or you
can stick with the rifle. Or, of course, introduce them to your fists.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The door leading into Father-Mother's home opens. Go inside with the shotgun
in hand.

Ghat

The first target should be Onpa, who will likely pick up the nearby
Skullhammer. Since you brought your shotgun inside, defeating the three foes
inside the close quarters of the home should be a cinch. If, for whatever
reason, you do not have the shotgun with you, then instead use the Skullhammer
to get the job done.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                       Therium

Ah yes, the last of Father-Mother's children. He's also the biggest and
toughest. You can only damage Therium with the Skullhammer, so pick it up and
go to town. It is easy defeating foes like Gabel, who you encountered in
wide-open areas, but having to deal with Therium inside of a tiny house can be
problematic.

Watch out for his ramming attack. The pillars offer no support, because he can
bulldoze right through them like a twig. By now, it is very helpful if you
time a bashing weapon's strong attack. If you time things correctly by using a
strong attack just as Therium gets up, you will be able to connect with the
strong attack the second he gets on his feet.

When you hear the door open, look around for the door as Mechanic enters the
house. Smack him with the Skullhammer, then use a Skull Bomb if you have one
to deal with him quickly. Otherwise, the addition of another competitor can
make things very hectic. Take him out as quickly as possible, then resume
battling with Therium.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Defeating Therium inside Father-Mother's home signals the end of things here.

 3.16] Father-Mother [0316]

Ghat has confronted Father-Mother, and the battle against your maker is
finally here. Well, you have to take care of her children for the umpteenth
time of course.

Ghat

                                               Rimet/Xetse/Pott/Onpa/Gastornis

Rimet and Xetse stay on the balcony while Pott, Onpa, and Gastornis attack you
face-to-face. As the battle starts, throw a Skull Bomb at the door underneath
the balcony where the three combatants emerge from. Once they are scattered,
pick up the grenade launcher that one of them drops and back away. Use it to
easily dispatch the three chumps

In order to defeat Rimet and Xetse, you must fire the grenade launcher up at
them. One direct hit will result in their death, but they will be firing bombs
back at you so you'll have to be careful.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Walk up the ramp towards Father-Mother.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                   Rimet/Xetse

Rimet and Xetse aren't finished just yet. There is very little fighting room
up here, so navigating and running away are out of the picture. You will have
to face these two like a man. We have fought these two countless times so you
should know their fighting style (only Rimet really has a distinct style
anyways).

Block, counter, and use elbow smashes to knock your enemy silly. There are
some fruit up here in which you will likely need between this battle and the
previous.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no running away for Father-Mother. His secret is not to be told, and
he'd rather take it to the grave than spill the beans. The time to fight is
now.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                 Father-Mother

Father-Mother cannot be damaged by normal means. You cannot simply run up and
punch him, nor is there a bashing weapon present that would normally be used
on heavyweights. What you do have are Duel Fish Guns. Really? Yes, really.

Father-Mother acts like a heavyweight, in which he really only has a charge
attack. He also does throw a trio of bombs at you. When you see this happen,
run towards Father-Mother and sprint behind him to avoid three simultaneous
explosions. Other than those two attacks, there isn't much to worry about.

After evading one of his attacks, take aim at Father-Mother's lanky legs with
the Duel Fish Guns. Fire at either leg to make him fall to his knees. Run over
and lock onto Father-Mother, then begin unloading on him with your fists.
Treat this like any other battle, for Father-Mother can still punch and claw
at you. Block and get a few good hits in before he gets back up.

Repeat this process until Father-Mother's health is depleted. There is no
fruit here in the arena, so you must stay on your toes. Father-Mother's
attacks are predictable and easy to avoid so you should not get hurt that much
during the course of the fight.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And now things start to piece together a tad, as you are once again shown the
game's opening cutscene.

==============================================================================
 3.17] Coast [0317]
==============================================================================

Walk past Golem and head towards the path leading down to the coast. Go near
the hut for a scene. What a crazy lady, her and her pig "son". Bah!

Head over to the gate and have Deadra open it for you. You will be given a
crossbow. Proceed down the cliffside to the coast, where you will hear a
familiar voice. Attack the crabs as the Hunter babbles on. Crabs can be very
annoying with their acid spit; kicking them conserves ammo but it takes two
kicks to kill one. Using a crossbow only takes one shot, but it means that
you'll have to constantly reload.

Defeat a couple waves of crabs as the Hunter talks on and on until he finally
shows his face.

Ghat/Deadra
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                    The Hunter

This is one of the toughest fights in the game in my eyes. There is just too
many things that you have to worry about during the fight. Like in our last
encounter, the Hunter stays out of reach and uses Squirrel-Bombs as his weapon
of choice. The Hunter is perched on top of a beached whale and tosses
Squirrel-Bombs down below.

Don't shoot the squirrels; instead kick them so you do not detonate their
explosives yourself. Make sure to dispose of them quickly, since they start to
pile up quickly and if the Hunter shoots one, they'll likely set off a domino
effect and blow you to kingdom come. Also keep in mind that remains of a
Squirrel-Bomb can also be blown up, so it isn't a terrible idea to blow up the
dead bodies yourself.

In addition to the Squirrel-Bombs, you also have to deal with crabs that
constantly emerge from the sand. Their long-range attacks deal a nice amount
of damage and mainly serve as a distraction to the real problems (the Hunter
and his squirrel minions), but enough crabs can lead to permanent damage to
Ghat, so you will want to take each one out.

Lastly, the crossbow is vastly inferior to the rifle. It has a small magazine,
isn't nearly as strong, and fires in an arc. You will have to modify your
aiming scheme in order to hit the Hunter at such a long-range: aim the
reticule above the Hunter so that each shot should hit him dead-on. Also,
having to reload every two shots gets to be a pain in the butt. Try to sprint
somewhere safe and reload your crossbow when needed.

There are a few things worth noting: there is a rock near the center of the
beach which serves as good cover. You can walk around it and end up on the
right side of the beached whale, which offers a new angle when targeting the
Hunter. It's also good refuge to reload and such, since Squirrel-Bombs and
crabs typically don't come here as often as they would if you were out in the
open. Also, there is some fruit behind the beached whale that you will need.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After defeating the Hunter, speak with Deadra. Make your way back to Golem;
there is plenty of fruit along the cliff that will refill your health as you
backtrack to Golem's location. Unfortunately, the Hunter stops you just before
you can reach him.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                    The Hunter

This time, you fight the Hunter in close-range combat. The Hunter amuses
himself by keeping one arm behind his back during the fight. That doesn't
detract from the fight that much, since he is still capable of blocking,
dodging, and dishing out his own unique attacks. Don't get lured into a false
sense of security by his handicap.

Watch out for his lunging punch, which is most likely his strongest move. He
does use a quick swipe to stun you momentarily, which leads to a big move or
combo. Use a running elbow smash to stun the Hunter, then follow up with a
power attack.

After you deplete half of his health, the Hunter stops playing around and
takes you on using both hands. At this point, you cannot win the fight. You
must simply survive until time runs out and the battle ends. You can still try
and damage the Hunter, but it all proves to be pointless in the end. If you'd
like an Achievement, you can try to reduce the Hunter's health bar to 1, but
it's easier to do on a chapter replay with cheats on.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The fight will end abruptly as Golem steps in. Thanks for FINALLY helping!

 3.18] Halstedom Gate [0318]
==============================================================================

Look familiar? We're back at the beginning of the game. Before we can open up
the gate, we must plow through a few thugs.

Ghat/Deadra
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                               Tsekung/Mechanic/Raganee/Entelo

Tsekung and Mechanic are slightly out of reach; they are on the archway above
the gate. Leave them for last, and instead focus on Raganee and Entelo. Entelo
has a crossbow which can later be used against Tsekung and Mechanic. There's
also a spear next to the central huts if you'd like to use it against Raganee
and Entelo. It's up to you.

Once those two fools are dealt with, use the crossbow and locate Tsekung and
Mechanic above the gate. They are hard to spot, but the game will eventually
locate them for you if you stay lost for too long.

Ghat/Deadra
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                        Pott/Rimet/Henae/Xetse

Of course, your siblings are back. Rimet should be your first target, since
she holds a rifle. After that, it's fair game. We have dealt with these goons
so many times that writing a strategy would make absolutely no sense. There
are weapons, there is fruit, you know the situation. Kill everything that
moves, it's that simple.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Golem opens the gate for you; head through.

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                             Deinother/Therium

Two heavyweights at once?! This'll be interesting. It doesn't matter which one
you take on first, as long as you stick with that one until it's dead. Golem
drops two hammers down. Therium tends to be closer to you, so you should
probably go for him first. Deinother is on the other side of the plaza and
most likely will break every piece of furniture before reaching you on the
other side, giving you time to drastically reduce Therium's health.

There are a handful of fruit pieces situated on the tables here, but they will
probably get scattered around during the chaos. Still, they should not be too
hard to locate and it's best to know where they are in advance so you can
quickly replenish any lost health before it's too late.

Once one is defeated, taking down the last should be a cinch. Use the second
hammer to wear them down, then deliver the finishing blow. Success!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another scene will begin after defeating both heavyweights. Father-Mother is
still alive?! For some reason I am not surprised. *sigh* It is time to end
this, once and for all.

==============================================================================
 3.19] Family Reunion [0319]
==============================================================================

The battle starts off right outta the gate. Here we go!

Ghat
------------------------------------ V S -------------------------------------
                                                                 Father-Mother

You should follow the same strategy as the first encounter with Father-Mother.
He uses all of the same attacks (the three grenade toss being the most
dangerous) and must be damaged the same way. Get off to a quick start by
immediately targeting his legs with the Duel Fish Guns.

Not long after, one of Father-Mother's offspring will run out to help. It's
important to defeat them before focusing on Father-Mother again. The downside
is that each and every one of Father-Mother's children will come to aid him,
one-by-one (assuming the battle goes on that long, which is shouldn't by a
longshot). The good news is that there is some hangtime between the death of
the first and the entrance of the second.

For the most part, Father-Mother will end up killing his child if you don't.
His ramming attack and grenades all damage your siblings, so you have your
work cut out for you. When it's just you and Father-Mother, fire away at his
legs and unleash a few combos on his ugly face when you get the opportunity.
The battle is all too familiar to your first face-off, so don't expect any
surprises here.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the short scene, Pick up the hammer and hit Father-Mother to end the
sequence. Despite Ghat's refusal to reveal Father-Mother's secret, Golem does
it for him. Watch the closing scene and the credits. Now you can replay the
game using super cool cheat codes! Yeah!!

 4] ENEMIES [0400]
______________________________________________________________________________

Enemies listed are only foes encountered that cannot perform hand-to-hand with
Ghat unlike the vast majority of enemies found in the game (in other words,
they never appear under the "Versus" screen that appears at the start of a
main battle). Enemies also listed by appearance.

--- Bugbird ---

Judging by the name, you would assume a Bugbird to be a cross between a bug
and a bird. But they're neither... the Bugbird looks more like a weasel with a
strange scaly beak. These monsters are generally small and hop towards you
like a jumping bean. If they get too close, they will lunge at Ghat and stick
you with their beak. Try to keep Bugbirds at bay with Spears or shotguns.

--- Beetle ---

Surprisingly large, beetles fly around overhead and generally stay out of
reach of Ghat's fists. They appear in swarms and are characterized by their
loud buzzing sound. You usually have some form of weapon at hand such as a
crossbow or spear, so you should be able to defeat them quite easily.

--- Rath-Bird ---

Rath-Birds don't really appear to be birds at all. They may have wings, but
have no feathers and are flightless. They also have scaly skin and giant horns
that resemble a ram. The method of attacking for the Rath-Bird is vomiting, so
listen for the gross gurgling sound and avoid the green projectiles.

--- Sand Worm ---

If you are careful, you will never have to encounter Sand Worms. These
monsters cannot be killed and will only attack if you stray off the beaten
path in the desert. The screen will glow red and worms will begin jumping out
of the sand at you, so quickly return to the path before you are overwhelmed.

--- Rabbit ---

Rabbits cannot hurt you. In fact, you're the one mercilessly hunting them. In
two occasions in the game, you are forced to hunt for food. Unfortunately for
the rabbits, they are on the menu both times. They will run away if spotted,
so either corner on and kick it to death or shoot it from a distance.

--- Squirrel-Bomb ---

They're exactly what they sound. Squirrel-Bombs are squirrels that have a big
explosive barrel strapped to their backs. They are the loyal servants of the
Hunter (though they probably don't have much of a choice). The Hunter will
drop the Squirrel-Bombs down at you, then shoot them to ignite the explosives
and damage you. Kick the Squirrel-Bombs to kill them without detonating them
yourself.

--- Shadow ---

Shadows are animated black statues that are coated with a strange dark aura.
They are only seen in a select few levels and can only be defeated with the
torch. Avoid their nasty blue fireballs because they are the Shadow's main
form of attack. They can also attack with their hands but they move so slow
that the chance of one getting close to you is pretty slim if you keep your
eyes peeled.

--- Mucalosaurus Worshipper ---

You only see these strange desert people in one level, where you are stuck on
a boat and have a Rifle with you. These foes run alongside the river banks and
will throw rocks at you while taking cover. The rocks deal very little damage
and you can usually kill one with one well-aimed shot.

--- Crab ---

Crabs only appear at the coast. They emerge from the sand and like any normal
crab... they spit acidic goo at you. Don't know why, don't know how. They are
typically involved in the fight against the Hunter and can really be a thorn
in your side, so immediately kick one to death if you see one.

 5] WEAPONS [0500]
______________________________________________________________________________

==============================================================================
 Guns
==============================================================================

--- Crossbow ---

Magazine: 2

The crossbow is a weapon commonly seen throughout the game, as Ghat often
starts off many levels with this weapon. It takes some getting used to since
you have to aim above your intended target when at a distance due to the
arking projectile of the Crossbow. It may only have a two-round magazine, but
two shots with the Crossbow can knock an enemy to the ground.

--- Duel Fish Gun ---

Magazine: 8

The silly name may throw you for a loop, but these guns pack a punch. You're
basically duel-wielding pistols, and the large clip provides a decent amount
of firepower before you have to reload. This is one of the weaker guns,
however, and you are best off aiming for the head when fighting opponents.

--- Grenade Launcher ---

Magazine: 1

The grenade launcher is pretty neat. Fairly rare, you can only fire one
grenade at a time before reloading, but a dead-on shot usually results in
extreme damage or even death to the target. Reload time takes a while, so make
sure to hit your target or else drop the weapon and stun him. Like the
Crossbow, aim high because the Grenade Launcher fires in an arc (even moreso
than the aforementioned).

--- Rifle ---

Magazine: 3

Arguably the most well-rounded weapon in the game, the rifle is very powerful
and can target enemies from a great distance. The reload time is fairly quick
and you can kill or greatly weaken most foes with a full clip. No wonder this
is the Hunter's weapon of choice...

--- Shotgun ---

Magazine: 3

Really only good for close range combat of course. There isn't much to say
about the Shotgun aside from that it's a good alternative to your fists. If
you're fighting a bad guy up close, whip out the shotgun and plug a few rounds
in his face instead of dirtying up your hands.

==============================================================================
 Other Weapons
==============================================================================

--- Bone ---

The bone is a bashing weapon that's as basic as they come. It's just a bone
with a few decorations. Wielded just like any other bashing weapon.

--- Hammer ---

The hammer is a very powerful weapon that is primarily used against heavy
enemies, although it can easily dispatch other enemies as well. After a while
of use, the Hammer will fall apart and only the handle will be left, lowering
the damage done by the weapon.

--- Roothammer ---

The Roothammer is a very powerful club that is primarily used against heavy
enemies, although it can easily dispatch other enemies as well. After a while
of use, the rock will fall out and only the root will be left, lowering the
damage done by the weapon.

--- Skull Bomb ---

You always carry Skull Bombs with you and aren't really categorized in with
the other weapons. These bombs can be thrown with the B Button. It takes a
while for them to detonate after being thrown and can be easily avoided, so
they are best used on enemies that are stunned or knocked to the ground.

--- Skullhammer ---

The Skullhammer is a very powerful club that is primarily used against heavy
enemies, although it can easily dispatch other enemies as well. After a while
of use, the skull will fall out and only the club will be left, lowering the
damage done by the weapon.

--- Spear ---

The spear is a neat hybrid of the two weapon types. You can either hold it and
poke your enemies or you can aim and throw it just like you would fire one of
the guns.

--- Timehammer ---

The Timehammer is only found in Zeno Rush. It is just like a Roothammer and
Skullhammer, but damaging enemies with it will subtract time off of the clock.

--- Torch ---

The torch is only found in one specific area of the game and has an important
function. It is used to light candles, pyres, and defeat Shadows. Its
secondary use allows you to hurl fireballs at enemies from a distance. After a
while of use, the flame will go out and you will have to light the torch again
at a pyre or candle
