DLC / Car Stat / Secret Location Guide

Test Drive Unlimited (Xbox 360)
All-Purpose FAQ by: the4ce

Hey everybody. Let me start off by saying that any comments and critiques are
welcomed. This FAQ will be about how to get into or simply how to get to
secret locations in the game. It will also include some other tidbits that
I have learned in my travels. I have also added my previously seperate DLC
FAQ to this one so that it would be slightly longer. So, here goes:

________________________________________________________________________________

1. The Locations - Many of the random locations to be entered
________________________________________________________________________________

1a. The Southern Airport - The southern airport can be found in the southeast
corner of the large city on the south beach of the island. There are numerous
ways to enter this airport and here I will go over two of them.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Bike Entry - Required items:	A motorcycle
A friend with a car that has a ramp-shaped front end
				Patience
		Difficulty:	1/2 - 1 Badge

To begin, have your friend back up to the fence, about two car lengths
away. You back up as far as you can and then, aim for the front of their car.
You should be heading towards them head-on. As you accelerate, hold a wheelie
steady, making sure not to fall-off, and try to make your wheelie angle match
the angle of their car. When you hit, you should fly over the fence. Before you
land, to prevent you falling off and not being able to pause, pause the game and
create a bookmark. When you travel back to the bookmark, you will appear on the
ground directly below where you were when you made the bookmark. If you do not
make it over the fence, move your friends car closer to it. If you hit the fence
on the way up, move the friends car further from the fence. Like I said, this
requires patience, but it is rewarding once you get it.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Glitch Entry - Required Items:	Any vehicle with enough speed to make the jump.
				Again, Patience
		Difficulty:	1 Badge

On the south side of the airport, where the V-Rent is, the road leads to
a dead end when heading west. To get into the airport this way, start at a
distance where you can get good speed and drive heading west on the road. Try
as hard as you can to keep your speed. A row of bushes lies at the end of
the road. If you hit the right end of the bushes, your car will be launched into
the air, and with enough speed, you will land inside the airport. If you do not
jump, then you haven't hit the right spot, and if you don't jump far
enough, then you don't have a fast enough vehicle.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

1b. The Northern Airport - To the west of the Lexus Dealership. Exit the
dealership and take a right. When you get to the instersection, take another
right, and follow that road. The Airport is on your left.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Glitch Entry -	Required Items: Any A or B Class vehicle, or any car you can get
					to move quick enough
				Patience, and lots of it
		Difficulty:	1-2 Badges

The description that I offer here is original, but the method is
credited to torolof on youtube. This will be difficult to describe, but I'll
try. The north shor of the island is very rough. Zoomed in a the closest level,
if you place the east end of the airport right on the left side of the screen,
the place you will want to warp to is right on the right edge of the screen.
Once you are there, get oriented so that you are facing east on the road. Four
tenths of a mile down the road, it turns closer to the fence. As soon as it
straightens out, there should be an open patch of grass on your right side. In
the middle of this, there should be a small tree. Turn off of the road at an
angle so that you pass close by the end of the trees and then hit the small
tree. You will be shot into the air, over the fence, and into the airport. See
the credits for more information.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

1c. The Eden Island - This island is accessible by a teleporter. The island
includes, hotels, a cruise ship, waterfalls, a luxurious beach, and a few miles
of roads to drive on, and no, the roads do not count towards your total island
exploration. This island is just north of the southeast corner of Oahu.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

There is one, and only one way to get to the island. on the southeast
corner of the island, there is a road that leads around the southern tip of the
eastern mountain range. If you go just to the south part after the bend, you
drive up the side of the mountain and follow the rest of the range until you
come to a small 'e' symbol. You will drive down a small hill then go back up.
when you get to the 'e' you need to back up, and then drive and hit it at at
least 30 mph, no less. Once you get to the island, create a bookmark so you
don't have to continually go through the teleporter. Congratulations, 3 down,
that's all for the confirmed ones.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

1d. Gray Island - This island, just south of the Secret Island (1c.) is an
island that was accessed by a friend of mine and has, as of yet, been accessed
by nobody else. He claims a way that I will explain, but i have a much simpler,
but unproven method, as well.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Glitch Entry - Required Items:	Unknown... Glitch done with MV Agusta F4 Tamb.
		Difficulty:	Unknown...

Gray and I met randomly by racing one day. I had recently gotten to Eden
Island and was driving around with him there when he pointed out the small
islands and told me that he had gotten there. Of course, I didn't believe him,
but when he jumped there with his bookmarks, all I could do was ask him how. He
Said that he had left his Xbox for a time and that when he had come back, his
friend had pushed him into the water. The unusual thing was, though, that he
had continued underwater instead of respawning. He said that he saw three large
holes in the ground and as he was driving had to actually drive around them.
he and I employed the help of a few people and attempted once gain to jump far
into the water and just coast in, but nothing worked. This led my other friend
and I to our theory.
You will remember in my first glitch explanation of how to get into the
southern airport, that I said that when you create a bookmark in mid-air, you
will spawn on the ground directly beneath where you created the bookmark. Well,
we figured this applied over water. We began to ramp over the water and sure
enough when we made our bookmarks, we landed underneath the water. Yay,
progress! Well, not really. See, everytime we started, we could never get far
enough out to sea to get fully underneath the water, usually our helmet (or
part of it) was sticking up out so we assume that that was why we were
respawned every time. We never did get to the island, but we do know Gray was
telling the truth for two reasons, first because we saw the three
gargantuan holes in the ground and second because if look enough you can
find picture of him on the internet. So we will continue to try and find a
way to this island, but maybe it won't be us that finds it, maybe it will
be you.

1e. Other Areas - These include the tops of buildings, inside playgrounds,
and inside some parking lots. *More to be added*
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Glitch Entry - Required Items:	Any vehicle fast enough
		Difficulty:	1/2 - 3 Badges

Playground at the east end of the Downtown Drag Strip - Drive north at
the intersection past the Nissan Dealership and turn around at the T-
Intersection. On the right side of the road at the intersection, there is a row
of flowers. Once you turn around, drive as fast as possible towards the end of
the road and veer to the right. Hit the row of bushes at the high enough speed
and you should be shot into the air and land inside the playground. Bookmark
if you want and enjoy.

Fire Station at the above intersection - Start at the West end of the
Drag strip and drive east. Hit the above mentioned row of flowers on it's end
and you may find yourself in the fire station parking lot... or you may find
yourself flipping through the air uncontrollably. Either way, this is a fun
jump. If you land inside bookmark the place if you want and enjoy some laughs
when you show other people and they fail at their attempts.

Inside of building at the West end of the Downtown Drag Strip - Start
at the east end and accelerate towards the west end. on the left side of
the road the is a set of hedges just before this building, which happens to
be the last on the road. Hit the east end of these hedges and you should be
shot into the air. Hopefully, you will land in the building. If not,
try again.

1f. Unused Car Dealerships: not so much places to enter as cool places to see
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Alfa Romeo -	About 1/5 mile east of the challenge "8 Drivers Make a Record"

Mercedes-Benz -	Just west down the main road of the Lexus Dealership

Japanese Imports -	Find the European Classics Dealership in the southeast
of the island. Go north on the road from here and]
take a right at the second intersection. Take
another right. The dealership should be on the left
				side of the road.

Audi - **Details to come**

4. Fun / Miscellaneous Information
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

4a. Bike Tricks
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Ramping off of Cars - This can get you into many areas and can get you
recognized by any person whose car you decide to ramp off of. To do this,
you need a bike and any car that has a slanted front end (aka almost anything
except for busses, vans, SUVs, and Utility Trucks). To ramp a car, start at a
fair distance and do your best to hold a steady wheelie. Hit the car at a fast
speed, and you should be shot into the air. If you are at too high or to low
of an angle, you will not succeed and probably fall off. This can launch you
into the air and over many barriers, into place that you might not normally be
able to access.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

4b. Drag Strips

Downtown - The Drag Strip By the River (1.7 miles)
			Ford Island (2.1 miles)

East Coast -	From the turn South of the Triumph Dealership to the
T-Intersection just north of the Cadillac
				Dealership (2.4 miles)
Far North -	From the access road that leads to the rear of the
airport to the intersection that takes you to the
				Lexus dealership (4.9 Miles)
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

4c. Drafting
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Drafting is a simple trick that can increase your top speed by up to 30
mph. To do this, you need to be travelling at a fast speed, and you need to
follow another players car. Once you get to your top gear, you will begin to
accelerate much faster and beyond your top speed. You can do this at a distance
of up to 150 yards. This can help in any race situation and cannot be done to
the civilian cars.

5. Glitches and Problems
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

5a. Common Problems and Questions
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Best car to start with: Audi TT

Best Car in game: Koenigsegg CCR, Mclaren F1 GT (DLC)

Where To buy the F1 GT: There is a new British Independents due west of the
				Pontiac Dealership

Referral code...?:	Don't worry about it the program is long expired

How do I get the bikes?: Find all the car dealerships

Finding 'X' Mission:	If they aren't there then explore more roads. They
only appear once you have explored the
				road that the are on.

Speed Challenge Meter?:	This lags as a failsafe to the 600 mph glitch. It
was intentionally desgned and implanted by
				Atari in the first update.
How to Bookmark: Pause your game. Select 'Options.' Select 'Bookmarks.'
Select 'New.' Take a Pic. Type the name. Vwa-la.
				Bookmark for you. :)
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

5b. Problems with Downloadable Content
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

My game save wont load!: It appears that there is a safety measure made by Atari
so that people can not backup their save, sell a
car to a friend, and then reload the save. Also,
If you are getting the message along the lines of
your DLC is no longer available, then here is what
you do: 1) Select 'No.' 2) Exit to the Xbox
dashboard. 3) Go to the system blade and select
memory. 4) Select games then scroll down and select
Test drive unlimited. 5) Erase ALL of your DLC.
				6) Go to the Xbox live marketplace. 7) Re-download
all of the downloadable content. 8) Start the game.

This is simply me speaking from what i am fairly
sure will work. I do know that on the Atari europe
forums, people have talked about this problem and
said that once they started over, they ended up
deleting all of their save files and that fixed the
				problem.
