--------------------------------------------------------
Overview
--------------------------------------------------------

To unlock Hell Mode, you must first complete the game on Expert. If you
haven't done that, stop reading this and get back to the game. This is
useless to you.

Hell Mode consists of eight missions. These missions are the last missions
(Strategic) of each area. Most of them require you to take off at the start
and land to rearm. If you select the right weapon loadout and use your
wingman wisely, you may not have to rearm.

In Hell Mode, you get your choice to fly the F-1 or quit and play another
mode. Yes, this Japanese bad boy sports a sweet........nothing. You're
going to hate this plane. By the end you may love it, but until after
mission 4, you'll detest and curse it to no end.

The F-1 can support a maximum of 4 Air to Air hardpoints. Don't get too
excited here. You can only load up on short range missiles. I'm talkin
Aim-9*'s here. If you are hoping for Aim-120*'s, just start crying now.
You are not going to find them on this plane.

Before you enter each mission, I will give you a list of pretty much
everything you will come across. I will also give you a loadout that I
found best suited to complete the mission.

I suggest reading the tips beforehand so you know what I mean in the
walkthrough.

BTIPS.0
--------------------------------------------------------
Beginning Tips
--------------------------------------------------------

1. Wingman selection is important. Unless you've skilled up another pilot,
Michael is the best pilot to fly with. He has high skills in everything.

2. Commanding your wingman is crucial. Knowing how to command and what
commands to give are very important. The commands I reference in this guide
are AIR, COVER, and ATTACK.

3. Below you will see my loadout that I used. It is a loadout that require
the least amount of rearming. There are missions where you will not need to
rearm at all if you select the right loadout and can do some pinpoint bombing.
Bombing is easier than you think.

4. You will also see that this is listed in phases. A phase consists of your
mission targets, then the screen fades out upon completion. The enemies
listed are those that you should find in a reasonable amount of time for the
mission. If you do this quickly and correctly, you won't even see some of
these enemies. Each enemy has a different trigger point. Usually when one
set is destroyed, another takes its place. Sometimes they are time triggered.
I didn't hand around too much to find everything.

5. AIM-9L's vs AAM3's. On the boards, AlexStar6 (Also the current leader in
online kills) has gone through extensive online testing to determine which is
better. He has concluded that AIM-9L's are the best Air to Air missile.

6. Visual tracking is very important for Air to Air combat using heat
seekers. You'll sometimes find yourself on top of your target and unable to
tell where it is at altitude wise. This is where it comes in handy. Use it
to guide your nose to the target. Once you find your target, put him in the
HUD circle for your heat seekers. You will then be able to lock onto your
target.

7. Your radar always tells you where your target is. Playing on hell mode
I would hope you know how to use your radar. If you don't, go start a game
on beginner and start again.

8. Bombing is easier than you think. I have yet to miss a stationary target
with a bomb. Arm your bombs, line up your target and hold fire. Yes, hold
it. Your HUD will change a little. Keep the vertical line in the target
diamond and wait for the bomb to drop itself.

9. HUD/View. I always preferred the native HUD, but it does have its
downfalls. You can't ever really tell whether you are locked on to your
objective target. The generic HUD does display in colors what kind of target
you are locked onto. Green - Non-objective. Yellow - Locked onto
you(encroaching). Orange - Objective. Best view and HUD to use is the nose
cam. For hell mode's sake I wish they forced the native view. :)

10. Your radar signature is dependent on a few things. Altitude, Heat,
Radar Emittence. Altitude is how high you are. See the end of tip 7 if you
don't know what altitude is. Heat is how high your thrust is set to. If you
are using your afterburners, you're gonna be locked on far out. Lastly is
radar emittence. When you switch out of NAV mode to a weapon, you emit more
radar. Enemies can pick up on the radar you send out to track you. When you
know you are out of range, I suggest you ALWAYS switch to NAV mode so you can
stay as "stealth" as possible.

Strategic Missions
--------------------------------------------------------

SA.1.0
**** Area 1 **** North America
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

	** Mission **

Destroy incoming enemy fighter/bombers. 5 total targets.

	** Loadout **

You don't have a choice as to what you get to load up on. You get
	4 AAM3's. That's all.

SA.1.1
	** Phase 1 **	5 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	AIR -
		2	IL-76 MC
		1	A-50 MC
		2	TU-160 MC
		2	Mig-29A

	* Strategy *

You start flying in the direction where the targets will appear. You'll
notice that you only have 4 missiles, but you have 5 targets to shoot down.
Like I said in the previous section, wingman use is crucial. The initial
strategy to follow is you attack one and your wingman attack the other.

Once the IL-76's are down, the A-50 should spawn in its place. Have your
wingman attack this plane, but stay on its tail. If you wingman's missile
does not destroy the target, take it down yourself. If he's smoking, you
may feel good enough to use your guns to finish him off.

Lastly the TU-160's will appear. You can command your wingman to attack
one and you the other. You should have extra missiles left if you followed
my strat, so if your wingman hasn't taken his target down, go ahead and do it
for him. The Mig-29A's that are in the area start 20-40 miles out and should
not be a factor in this mission.

SA.2.0
**** Area 2 **** Central Africa
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

	** Mission **

Destroy ground targets. 5 total targets.

	** Loadout **

	Wing Tips - AIM-9L's(2)
	Mid Wing - AIM-9L's(2)
	Inner Wing - Mk82+GCS(4)
	Belly - Mk82+GCS(4)

	Wingman - Same loadout.

The AIM-9L's are for a little self defense against air targets. You
don't need them for completing the missions, but you do want some
	defensive capabilities.

SA.2.1
	** Phase 1 **	2 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		4	T-80
		2	ZSU-57-2
		2	BTR-80 MC

	Air -

		2	YAK-141
		2	Mig-21
		2	Mig-25

	* Strategy *

In this mission you start on the ground. Instead of taxiing to the runway,
you can hit the back button to skip to the runway. Be careful, don't just
hit the burners right away. You have other jets in front of you on the
runway also taking off. You pretty much take off in the direction of your
targets. You'll have to veer off to the right a bit and follow the red line
to your targets. As you can see, you'll have to go against some air defense.
Sort of. You'll be flying with 2 other groups of jets on this one. A group
of A-10's and either F-2's or 16's. They can handle all the fighters you come
against. I don't recall ever being locked up from an air target. You should
see, at max, two planes a time.

This phase is pretty easy. You shouldn't even get shot at unless you stray
too close to the ZSU's. The BTR's are right next to each other and should be
a pretty easy target. I have seen them start to move after you bomb one of
them. Acquiring these targets can sometimes be a chore. I know I had to
circle many times to get an actual lock on them. After you do acquire a
lock, get a good angle on them and hold your launch button. When you get
close enough, your bombs will auto-drop and you should get a good hit. One
bomb a target should do it. Your wingman can handle bombing if he is not
tied up with a fighter.

SA.2.2
	** Phase 2 **	3 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		2	ZSU-57-2
		5	T-80
		3	BTR-80 MC

	Air -

		1	YAK-141
		2	Mig-29A

	* Strategy *
You start this phase by pointing in the direction of the targets. Off to your
left there is a ZSU-57-2 and a T-80. Nothing to be worried about at all.
They are far off enough to not be a factor. There will be a YAK-141 flying
above your targets. The BTR's are actually in the middle of all the T-80's
and a ZSU. This phase you have to be a little bit more careful of flak.
Also, once the YAK is down the Migs will come. These guys will come after you.
They start at a distance, but will be on your fast. You can have your wingman
attack one and you another. If you think you are good enough, you can attempt
to drop on a target, switch to another, then drop again. Its harder but it
can be done.

SA.3.0
**** Area 3 **** Far East
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

	** Mission **

Destroy Air Targets. 11 total targets

	** Loadout **

	Wing Tips - AIM-9L's(2)
	Mid Wing - AIM-9L's(2)

	Wingman - Same Loadout.

Just air targets for this one.

SA.3.1
	** Phase 1 **	6 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		2	ZSU-57-2
		1	T-72
		2	BTR-80

	Air -

		2	MI-24 MC
		2	MI-24
		2	MI-28 MC
		1	AV-8B
		2	J-7
		2	Mig-21
		2	Mig-25
		2	MI-24 MC

	* Strategy *

Once again you start off on the ground. Skip taxiing by hitting the back
button and pause. There are other friendly jets on the runway and you don't
want to run into them. Once you get flying, climb to 2500 ft. Your targets
should have similar altitudes. Visual tracking is going to be very important
here. Its going to get hectic soon. You may have learned by now that your
heat seekers (9L's, AAM's, etc.) only will lock if you point your nose at the
target. That means getting them into that small circle (covered in tips).

This is where you have to be smart. Mixed in with your first targets are 2
non objective choppers. When you lock onto one, you better make sure its
orange in your radar. Or switch your HUD to the generic one and see if your
target is orange. If they have a lock on you, they will be yellow too so you
have to be smart about it. Use your wingman to destroy as many choppers as
you can. That means having him attack a chopper, you circle around while he
attacks to burn some time. Also keeps you out of harms way. Once he drops
one, you have him attack the next. Watch your tail after they go down.

Once your wingman drops a MI-24, another will pop up. As they go down singly,
another one will follow. These pop up depending on your own direction you
are pointing. Some will pop up behind you, others in front.

This mission you will probably have to dodge a lot of missiles, so make sure
you don't stray over to the ZSU's. You don't need flak on top of that. As
you splash the choppers, more and more jets will show up to harass you. They
all start from a good distance except the AV-8B. He spawns right up in the
mix and gets on your tail.

There really is no linear way to handling this mission. Use your wingman as
much as you can. The less missiles you use, the more you have when you need
them.

Funny bug I have had multiple times with this mission. After 5 choppers would
drop, the phase will end. All the better.

SA.3.2
	** Phase 2 **	5 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		2	ZSU-57-2
		2	ZSU-57-2

	Air -

		2	J-7 MC
		2	J-8 MC
		2	Mig-21	Lock
		1	Mig-29A	far
		1	J-10 MC

	* Strategy *
Most likely you used your missiles up. Land, ReArm, and get back in the air.
In the direction of your targets there will be 2 sets of 2 ZSU's. You can
either circle around, go balls out and right above a group, split them and hit
the deck, any way you want. Follow your radar/map to the first objective.
There should be a pair of J-7's coming at you. As always, use your wingman
on one and you get on the other's tail and stay there. Once your wingman
drops his target, have him attack yours. Saves you a missile for later.

Once you splash those targets, 2 J-8's will join the fray. If I recall
correct, they should still spawn over the water. Use the same strategy on
the J-8's as you did the 7's. At this time a couple of Mig-21's will spawn
up and lock onto you. Evade and wait for the J-10. You can see above that
there is a Mig-29A in the area too. He's far enough away to not be a factor.
Handle the J-10 with your remaining missiles and get ready for the hardest
mission of all of them.

SA.4.0
**** Area 4 **** South America
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

	** Mission **

Protect VIP Transport. 12 total targets

	** Loadout **

	Wing Tips - AIM-9L's(2)
	Mid Wing - AIM-9L's(2)

	Wingman - Same loadout.

Just air targets for this one.

SA.4.1
	** Phase 1 **	6 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		2	SA-19

	Air -

		2	YAK-141	MC
		2	Mig-29A
		2	YAK-141	MC
		2	SU-25
		2	YAK-141	MC
		2	Mig-21?

	* Strategy *

This mission will have a bunch more small tips (scattered) on how to complete
due to the difficulty to complete this mission. This will probably be your
hardest mission. The SA-19s should not get a lock on you. You are usually
away form their area.

Speed and smart use of your wingman is important. Use your afterburners all
the way to the first set of targets. The YAK-141's are not even a threat to
the transport plane. They've made 2 passes before on me and never once shot
down the transport. Use your visual scanning to help acquire a heat lock on
the first YAK. Have your wingman attack it while you jump on the tail of the
other. Use visual scanning to find the other and get a heat lock. Once the
first Yak splashes, have your wingman attack your target again (I'll tell you
why in a second). If for some reason the first Yak doesn't go down in 1 hit,
restart the mission. You are taking way too long. If for any reason your
wingman does not splash both fighters quickly, restart the mission. You don't
have the time to mess around.

The reason you need your wingman to take out the first 2 YAKs is because the
next fighters that appear can/will tie him up. The Mig-29As will jump you on
your nose (doesn't matter what direction you are facing) and your wingman will
most likely get tied up with them. In other words use your wingman while you
can. After the Migs show up, you may notice there are a few fighters far out
by a couple friendlies. These are SU-25's and should not be a factor against
you.

The next Yaks should appear near the transport plane, so always try and stay
close. If by the grace of Taito your wingman is still with you (Don't count
on it), have him attack one YAK and you the other. You actually get to shoot.
Be smart with your missiles. You can't afford a miss. You really can't even
afford a partial hit. Once these 2 are down, you're getting close to crunch
time.

If you see a bunch of green planes, Mig-21's I think, (Time triggered. I'll
time is next time I am playing.) appear on your map about 5-10 miles out from
the transport. Restart the mission or get moving. You are running out of
time. These shoot down the transport. There is a way around them shooting
down the transport. If you get near enough to them, they will lock on you.
Don't depend on it. Its best to just be fast.

The last 2 Yaks appear low near the trees. Hit the deck and get on their
tails. You can try a head-on attack, but this usually resulted in a partial
hit. Drop on their tail and use your last missiles on them. Shoot them down
before the Migs get your transport.

SA.4.2
	** Phase 2 **	6 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		3	ZSU-57-2

	Air -

		2	SU-25
		2	YAK-141	MC
		2	Mig-29ALock
		2	SU-25 far
		2	Tornado MC
		2	F-16D MC
		1	JAS39B

	* Strategy *

The good news is you got past the hardest part of the mission. The bad news
is you are unarmed. Land and rearm. Same loadout as before. Skip the taxi
part and hit the burners. There are a couple of SU-25s out in the distance,
but friendlies should take them down without a problem and they should not
bug you.

Once again you should see a couple YAKs on the tail of the transport. Do
not worry, they do nothing even though the transport claims its under attack.
They've done 2 passes and its unscathed. I am not going to tell you to use
visual tracking anymore, you should know to do this. Acquire a target and
have your wingman attack it. Jump on the tail of the other and wait for the
splash. You have some time now. Everything in this mission is time
triggered. Have your wingman attack your target. Right now a couple of
Mig-29A's should spawn and lock onto you 2. You can have your wingman splash
them if you wish. You have time.

A couple SU-25's should also take off in the distance. It takes them a while
to reach you, so I wouldn't worry about them. After a while, the Tornadoes
will spawn. They will spawn over a ZSU-57-2. Don't stray too close, you
don't want to take any flak. If your wingman is not tied up with a mig, do
the wingman attack one and you the other. If not, take them both out
yourself.

Once again there is a long wait (depending on how fast you are) until the next
wave. Position yourself as the third point in a line with the transport
between yourself and the runway. This is a good way to line up on the pair
of F-16s that will go after the transport. Yes, these actually attack the
transport if you take too long. Once again, have your wingman attack one and
you the other. If he is not available, take them out yourself. Be careful
when taking out these last 2. A JAS39B will jump and lock you up in this last
part.

		2	EF-2000

		1	KA-52 MC
		2	KA-52 MC

		2	Mig-29A

	* Strategy *

Take off and hit the burners. Head straight to the objective. You'll see
ships off in the distance. Should be the two tops groups and they should not
come into play at all during this mission. Also those EF-2000's and JAS39D
should not get near you either. When flying to the targets, you'll notice
there are 2 Gorya's in your way. Don't worry about them. I have yet to get
locked up by them.

You'll notice that your targets form a triangle. I always had my wingman
attack the closest (so the phase moves faster) which is the slava. Either
one you have him attack, you take out the other. By the time I was done
with the Udaloy's, my wingman destroyed the slava(side note: When I did this
in expert, the trigger event for the choppers was the slava sinking. I never
tried sinking another boat first). When the slava goes down, the first KA-52
would appear. It appears behind you no matter what direction you are facing.
At this same time, 2 SA-19's would power up on the island. They will attempt
to lock you. Literally 2 seconds after the SA-19s appear, 2 Mig-29As will
launch from the island.

The last two KA-52's spawn together, once again, behind you. You can go nuts
on the choppers in any order. Your wingman will most likely get tied up with
the Mig-29A's, so don't depend on him. Don't be stingy with your missiles.
You're going to have to land anyway. One or 2 of the choppers may not splash
with a missile hit. Remember, 3 targets, 4 missiles. Use your guns if you
can. They don't move too fast and don't maneuver much. However, they will
lock on you and try to take you down so don't think its a piece of cake. Once
you down them, phase over.

SA.5.2

	* Strategy *

When the phase starts, head for the runway and land. This is probably the
only time you will ever do a loadout change, and its optional. I usually
removed the ASM's from my loadout for a little more maneuverability. Its
very little so don't think it will make a big difference. Hell, you most
likely will not notice the difference. If you choose to keep them on your
plane, use them to take out the Kirov and the Slava. They locked me up the
most from what I remember.

When you take off, keep low, stay on NAV, and try not to use your burners too
much. Make yourself as unnoticeable as possible. If you don't, the F/A-18's
will come at you before you can get on them. Have your wingman attack the
first one and you get on the tail of the second. Take him down quick. Out
in the distance will be some F-14A's. They will come into play later and
attempt to lock you up. ALL fighters have a good chance of coming at YOU.

After they splash, you best be ready for some hectic fighting. Almost right
after the second fighter splashes, a Mig-35 will come out of nowhere on your
nose and lock you up. The SU-27's and Mig-31 will follow. All will come
after you. The ships will also be locking you up and causing you trouble.
Evasion is your friend.

At this time I told my wingman to go to COVER. You have to handle the last
2 objectives yourself. It may take a little bit for the Kafalecs to join the
fray. Stay on the tail of a fighter so you have one less to worry about being
on your tail. Do not use a missile on him. When the Kafalecs join,
immediately get on their tail. You take them both out yourself. Move fast
cause a couple JAS39Ds will be spawning to take you out too.

The main strategy for this is speed and evasion. You're not under much of a
time limit like Phase 1 of Area 4, but every second you stay in the fight you
will more likely get shot down.

SA.6.0
**** Area 6 **** Mexican Coast
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

	** Mission **

Destroy ground targets. 6 total targets.

	** Loadout **

	Wing Tips - AIM-9L's(2)
	Mid Wing - AIM-9L's(2)
	Inner Wing - Mk82+GCS(4)
	Belly - Mk82+GCS(4)

	Wingman - Same loadout.

There are not many air targets on this run, so you can choose to take
more bombs on this run. I hate being defenseless so I always load up.
This is a mission where you can complete it without landing.

SA.6.1
	** Phase 1 **	4 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		1	ZSU-57-2
		1	ZIL-135 MC

		1	ZIL-135 MC

		3	SA-19
		3	ZSU-57-2
		2	Shutters	MC

	Air -

		2	MI-28

	* Strategy *

If you skip taxiing, you need not worry about running up another planes tail.
Hit the burners and take off. On your map you should notice a nice squiggly
line. This is a canyon. Aim to the left of the MI-28's to get a good run on
the canyon. The only air targets I ever saw were the MI-28's. They may have
been shot down a couple times and respawned, but nothing new ever came. You
can ignore these if you wish. They did not bug me much. You can either have
your wingman help you attack ground targets or handle the choppers. In this
mission, I never used my wingman.

When you get lined up for your canyon run, the first group you'll come up to
is a missile silo site and a ZSU flak cannon. One Mk82 will take out the silo
and you can continue on. The next silo is undefended and should pose no
problems.

The last 2 targets are in between 3 SAM sites and 3 flak cannons. If you are
good, you can manage to line up both shutters in one run. One Mk 82 each will
do the job. These SAMs will most likely lock on to you, so there may be a
good amount of dodging or outrunning missiles. Stay low and take on the flak
cannons, or go high and take on the SAMs. Remember to use auto launch when
bombing.

SA.6.2
	** Phase 2 **	2 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		1	Otomatic
		1	ZSU-57-2
		2	Train MC
		3	ZSU-57-2

	Air -

		2	MI-28

	* Strategy *

Now for the even easier phase. If you used my loadout, you should have more
than enough ordinance to finish the job. 2 stationary trains. They don't
move. When I was checking out what all the targets were on the map, I came
back to the first train and it hadn't moved an inch.

The only defense you have to worry about is the single ZSU and the Otomatic.
The other ZSU's are the one's around the shutters from the last phase and you
don't get close to them at all. You can take out the MI-28's if you wish, but
they may respawn. I found it best to leave them alone so nothing else would
spawn in its place. Drop a bomb on each train and call it a day.

SA.7.0
**** Area 7 **** Central Africa
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are a lot of ships in this one so I am not going to be listing exact
counts. The targeting system goes all over the place and I couldn't get a
good count.

	** Mission **

Destroy air and ground targets. 13 total targets. 8 air, 5 naval.

	Protect Blue Ocean.

	** Loadout **

	Wing Tips - AIM-9L's(2)
	Mid Wing - AIM-9L's(2)
	Inner Wing - ASM-2's(2)
	Belly - Empty

You could take Mk82's on your belly if you want to bomb a Kirov
later on. I don't suggest it though. ASMs and your wingman are
	all you need.

	Wingman - Same loadout.

SA.7.1
** Phase 1 **	2 Mission Critical Targets. Air Only

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		3	Udaloy
		2	Slava

	Air -

		4	SU-34
		2	SU-33

		1	SU-34 MC
		1	SU-34 MC

	* Strategy *
As you are taking off, you will notice there are only ships on your map/radar.
Not to worry. Those 6 SU-33s and 34s will be popping in all at the same time.
They should not give you any trouble. They should lock up on other
friendlies. The MC SU-34s are listed singly because they come one at a time.
It matters not where you are or what direction you are facing. They pop up
in the same place every time. Have your wingman attack the MC SU-34. When
the second one pops in, have him attack again. Easy phase.

SA.7.2
** Phase 2 **	3 Mission Critical Targets. Air Only.

The ship counts begin to get nuts, but here is an estimated count of what you
will encounter.

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		5	Udaloy
		1	R91
		1	D611
		1	M29
		5	D561
		1	A836
		1	F76
		1	F78
		3	Slava

	Air -

		1	SU-34 MC
		2	SU-33
		1	Rafalem
		2	Rafalem MC
		2	EF-2000

	* Strategy *
Now we start to get a little tougher. You're going to be going into the
fleet. You'll have to deal with ships locking onto you and a few jets. Once
you load up, you'll notice the SU-34 out in the distance. Once again, have
your wingman lock him up and take him out.

Now you don't need to be conservative with your missiles. Now you can go
nuts. After the SU-34 is shot down, the SU-33s will jump on your nose and
lock you up. Set your wingman to cover and see if you can lock one up. I
managed to knock one of these down each time I tried the mission and it made
it a lot easier than ignoring them.

You should still have 3 missiles left after this part. 3 Rafalems will spawn,
but only two are MC. Take them out yourself. These Rafalems will attack Blue
Ocean, so if you can, splash these bogies quickly so Blue Ocean has enough hit
points to take a beating next phase. You'll need it strong. The EF-2000s
shouldn't be much of a problem.

SA.7.3
	** Phase 3 **	8 Mission Critical Targets. 5 naval, 3 air.

	Enemies Encountered :

Now its nuts. I managed to get a count on a group separated from the main
fleet. I will list them first. Others are listed by as good of counts as I
can give. Its so filled up that your map does not mark all their positions.
Just the mission critical and the air targets.

	Ground -

		1	R91 MC
		1	D561
		1	A836
		1	M29
		1	F78
		1	D611

		3	Kirov MC
		1	KZNTSV	MC
		4	Udaloy
		3	Slava
		1	Akula
		3	Gorya
		1	Bsknchk

	Air -

		2	SU-35 MC
		1	SU-37
		2	Rafalem
		1	SU-37 MC

	* Strategy *
Nothing like flying into AA city. You will be flying over very little open
sea. There is a patch between a couple Kirovs and the R-91 fleet group.
Other than that, the sea is painted with ships.

Sinking the objective ships as quickly as you can is a big part of this
mission. They are the only ships I have seen ever take a shot at Blue Ocean.
Your air targets take their time and make very wide circles around to bomb
Blue Ocean. In other words, initially focus on The Kirovs and R-91.

Right when I loaded up, I had my wingman attack the closest Kirov. I would
then point to the R-91 which is the smaller group separated form the main
fleet. In other words, the group off to the right. The R-91 requires BOTH
of your ASM-2s to be sunk. Send both of them in a nice package to him. You
may or may not even be able to see the SU-35s at this time.

Land. Its time to rearm. This is where you can choose. Of course, keep your
ASM-2s. You can take some Mk82s with you, but bombing ships is a little more
complicated. They are moving targets. If you don't line up and drop at the
right time you will miss. Its best to land and rearm. You'll have time if
you play it right.

Now you should definitely be able to see the SU-35s. You'll be going after
them soon. I pointed toward the farthest Kirov. It's the last single ship
that should be left. Fire a single ASM-2 at it and go for the SU-35s. You
can take them both out or use your wingman on one. Your choice. I was greedy
because I thought (and knew) I may have to land again.

The SU-37 may already be flying around, but after the 35s go down, the
Rafalems will pop in and say hello. Same with the last MC SU-37. I waited
for the SU-37 away from the rest of the fleet so I could take him out before
going to the last of the ships. You may not want to wait. It all depends on
how much of that Blue Ocean Life bar is left. If you took my advice and took
out the R-91 and two Kirovs quick, you should be fine. So its up to you.

Move onto the last set of ships. Use your last ASM-2 on the Kirov and have
your wingman attack the KZNTSV. You can now go and land. Your wingman will
continue to attack the KZNTSV while you rearm with another couple of ASM-2s.
The mission can end at any time. Your wingman may sink the KZNTSV or he
may not. Either way, its way you are rearming. Launch both at the KZNTSV
and end the mission.

This was your last big challenge. All that is left are the YF-23s.

SA.8.0
**** Area 8 **** Indian Ocean
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

	** Mission **

Destroy ground + air targets. 10 total targets. 8 ground, 2 air.

	** Loadout **

	Wing Tips - AIM-9L's(2)
	Mid Wing - AIM-9L's(2)
	Inner Wing - Mk82+GCS(4)
	Belly - Mk82+GCS(4)

	Wingman - Same loadout.

Save your Aim-9L's for the last part of this mission. Don't waste
	them.

SA.8.1
	** Phase 1 **	4 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		3	SA-19
		2	SA-13
		1	Otomatic
		4	BTR-80 MC
		1	Kirov

	Air -

		2	Mig-29A
		2	SU-27
		2	Mig-29A
		2	Mig-29A
		2	SU-34

	* Strategy *
Take off and hit the burners towards the island. The first few air targets
will not be a factor. Those first Mig-29As were splashed before I could even
get within Visual Range (Rated at 70) of them. Same with the SU-27s. My
attack altitude was 1000-3000 ft.

I went straight for the first target. It should be behind a SA-19 and a
SA-13. They take their time on locking you up. Bomb the first BTR, and point
to the next closest. Have your wingman attack this one, or some back to it
later. If your wingman attacks one, it can move the mission faster. It'll
also keep you away from the SAMs. Either way, head over the mountain to shake
the lock from the SAMs.

There are a couple ways to approach the next few targets. The way that seemed
to always work for me was target 3. Number 3 is the one between the Kirov and
the one you had your wingman attack. Drop a Mk82 on it and head for the last
target behind the Kirov.

The Kirov locked me up right away, but I never actually got shot at every time
I tried it. What I had to watch out was for the Migs that appear behind it.
They locked me up a couple times. From what I have seen, they are time
released. They have appeared before, during, after my attack on the 4th BTR.
Hit the burners and get away from them. Head towards BTR 2 if your wingman
hasn't taken him out yet. Finish the job if he hasn't.

SA.8.2
	** Phase 2 **	4 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		1	Kirov
		4	ZIL-135 MC

	Air -

		2	X-35C
		2	SU-35
		2	Mig-29A
		2	Mig-29S
		2	Choppers

	* Strategy *
This phase is one of the easiest you will come by. There is only one unit
that will actually lock onto you. I never got locked up by air. Other
friendlies will attack the enemy jets so you don't have to do anything with
them. You can have your wingman go to attack AIR, but it is not necessary.
Bomb each of the ZIL-135 silos in order of proximity. Be careful when you
head towards the 4th one. There is a Kirov there that will lock you up. He
takes his time launching missiles so you may never actually get one launched
at you. If you are scared, send your wingman at the last one.

SA.8.3
	** Phase 3 **	2 Mission Critical Targets

	Enemies Encountered :

	Ground -

		None

	Air -

		2	YF-23 MC

	* Strategy *

Ah, your Air to Air test. The big 2 on 2. There isn't much to say or any
tricks to list. You're over matched. Plain and simple. You won't be able
to lock them up right away. You're head on and most likely they will manage
to zoom by you before you have a chance. And if you do manage, your missile
will most likely miss. Set your wingman to AIR or if you get locked up,
COVER.

Make sure you break the right way. Its random where they go, so its tough to
say which. Now to turn faster, you can use your rudder to break harder. To
do this you really need to angle your plane correctly so you don't lose too
much speed. That's also a problem with rudder. You're gonna drop knots fast.
And you DON'T want to be going under 220 in a F-1.

Your best hope is that they lock on your wingman. Then you can drop in behind
them and get a good shot off. Now, they have cloaking/stealth capabilities.
They will pop in and out of lock. Right when you get a tone, fire off a
missile. Don't worry about firing one by accident. You won't be able to
misfire. Other than the few things I listed, you are your only hope.
