How do you save a sims from a fire with a loyal dog?

Not have a fire? Seriously... Not sure you can do that - either the dog rescues him or it doesn't.

OK clearly you are not taking my answer literally - and it was meant to be taken LITERALLY. You can NOT make the dog do the rescue, ALL you can do is set the circumstances up so that the dog CAN make the rescue.
If you are having trouble making this happen there is a complicated solution to it - just place 4 or 5 Sims who are basically cowards in a house with 1 Loyal dog to create a target-rich environment...
Have a firebug Sim among them and when they start a fire there will be more than one Sim to faint, which leaves plenty of targets for the Loyal dog to 'save.'
That really and honestly is ALL you can do. The dog will either save them or it won't. Now do you get it?
