Question for The Sims 3

I've built my first house, and it has two floors.
I tried making a bedroom upstairs, but when I try to
Put a door, it tells me "Can't put that on a platform".
Since I used a platform for the floor of the second floor,
What am I supposed to use so I can put a door up there?
It's such a nice room too.
Any help please?
Edit: The room has walls and everything,
All it's missing is the door.

Okay so here is what you will do you said you placed a platform for the second floor but what you should do is delete the platform and go to build and buy then select "floors and ceilings" then select the floor you want and you will be able to place it on the second floor. The floor and ceiling is like putting down a floor so even though it just looks like your putting down a carpet or stone or what ever it is really just putting down a floor p.s. I am sure this works I have sims for every console out there along with every expansion pack and every version trust me I am a pro
