help please?

I am stuck on the boots of the spring heeled jack mission I have got the boots but I explained to the fox about the diary and I've waited for ages and he keeps sayin not know I need to think can anyone help me with this

I'm not totally sure what you need help with, so try googling uesp, you should get a guide to all things elder scrolls.
