Question for Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition
How do you make minecarts stop and start during a roller coaster, like for example if there was something I wanted to person riding the coaster to see how would I make the minecart stop for a bit then go on without having to push anything?

I suggest using power rails. When activated, they speed up a minecart but when they are not activated they bring the minecart to a halt. You could use switches or buttons to alternate between stop and go.
If you got really skilled with redstone, you could set up a timer using detector rails, which would me that you don't have to worry about hitting a lever as you pass.
