Because you are not allowed to get inside the airport. Imagine wht would hapen in real life if you get on the airport runway. Yhe same thing hapens here.

They automatically suspect you of being a terorist, most probably, and take you out before you plant a bomb on a plane, or whatever. It's pretty realistic, in real life security measures.

Think about it. If you ran/drove onto the airstrip in real life, what would happen? Its very realistic, as they probably think your a terrioist or something.
