How do you make a player a winger, when I try to the computer just makes him a right or left forward.

I think you have to have your formation as a 4-3-3
I don't know if you can on fifa 11 but if you go to custom tactics on team management you should be able to change the position of your strikers so the are wingers

Set him as a midfielder then choose left or right.
