need help wit da rescue quest

Heys guys I realli need help every tym I save ma son from the cave we go up the ladder but he always stands by the wall and wont move at all, he doesnt even response 2 expressions. I've tried everything even restarting the quest and I even tried killing my husband and still nothing works. What can I do? Please help me?

Probably a glitch. I would maybe save and shut it off. Or just shut it off if you didn't get too far.
