Its easy if you're doing it with a freind, select them from the list in the Xbox menu. (do all this in game) and select invite to game.

If youre going to play on the same console: start youre game, turn on the second controler, select a gamer tag, then use the second controler and press start to bring up the menu where you select what you want the other player to look like, and what weapon they will have.
