Why can't I play modern warfare 1 on xbox live?

I have xbox live but for some reason it wont let me play online.it has all the options for online play(team deathmatch,free for all,etc.)but I can't click on it.

From what you have said here we do not really have enough information to provide you with a definitive answer... But we can give you some general tips mate...

You may have been banned.

Depends. If you are banned then you cannot play. You need to contact the support center via the game website and ask. If they say you are banned find out what type of ban it is.

If you are perma-banned that means your actual console has been banned and you will have to replace it. If just your account was banned you can create a new gamertag, give it gold access, and start over.

Knowing which is obviously really important.

This ALSO can happen if your PnP options have been fuzzled on your local router. If that is the case, resetting the router will clear the buffer/cache and reset them to normal, at which point online game play access will return to normal.

Finally it is possible that the master login and stat servers are down. If they are down you cannot log in. Access the game website and check the network status display to learn if that is the case.
