Football Manager 08 Cheats and Tips

If you're currently managing a top class team, (champions league football is probably required to persuade him to hjoin) buy Sergio Aguero from Athletico Madrid, in Spain, as he becomes one of (actually the best, but whatever) the best players in the game. For me, he won 4 World Player of the Year awards, scores an incredible amount of goals and only gets better.

Best buy in the game, IMO.

Always keep up to date with your squads contract status! (Team > Fiirst Team or Reserve Team> (press up on D-pad)) Try to renew their contracts at least 3 to 4 months before it runs out, to not risk losing them. If they're old, and you need them to prove their worth, let them hang on abit, and their performances might get better, in the hope of earning a new deal.

You can also have your assisstant manager do them for you automatically. (LT, Manager> Option> Assistant handles player contracts).

When preparing for matches, take your time in selecting approriate players for each position, checking out their form, morale, and stats.

If you play a slow, stocky defender against some insanely quick striker, you're going to get torn apart at the back, so listen to your scout, and do some research on the other team before prgressing.
