######################### # Prince of Persia : Warrior Within # ######################### ///////////////// //Boss Guide// ///////////////// Note: The overall difficulty of a boss is equal to that of the difficulty setting you chose for the game. Boss List: 1. Shahdee 2. Shahdee 3. Empress 4. Thrall 5. Griffin 6A. Empress (Normal Ending) 6B. Dahaka (Secret Ending) ###################### #1 Boss: Shahdee Boss' Weapons: Dual Swords Princes Weapons: Eagle Sword Special Abilities: None Attacks: Simple Combo Shahdee (The woman in the skimpy black clothing) is the first boss you face in PoP:WW. Her overall moves are a repeated set of combos usually ending with an upward stab with her dual swords. Keep your hand ever-ready on the block button for you will need it. As the boss battle begins be sure to back away from her, make some space between you two in the small area that you are in. When she begins her combo sequence you can either be in her way, blocking, and using a counter-attack to do damage to her then back off a bit or you can move out of the way and wait until she finishes then go in for the attack. She wll occasionaly just stand there and walk to you, when she does this go in for a few hits from the standard Attack-Attack-Attack combo, as soon as she blocks back off to a safe distance. Don't forget to roll around and dodge backwards and especially don't forget to block. You may get locked in a grapple which is easily won by rapidly tapping the Attack button. Continue this strategy and it will (Before her health reaches zero) trigger a cutscene in which she throws your sword away and knocks you out. Don't worry, it's supposed to happen like that. ###################### ###################### #2 Boss: Shahdee Boss' Weapons: Dual Swords Princes Weapons: Spider sword Special Abilities: None Attacks: Simple Combo Shahdee doesn't seem to know the meaning of the word "variety" She uses the same sequence of moves as before, just more often and will occasionally kick you across the area. The best strategy is if you're close to her when she starts her combos, block and counter attack, back off quickly, roll around and go back in for a quick attack or if you're far away, wait her combos out and as soon as she does the upwards stab go in for the attack. Don't try to go all out in attacking her, it does take a while to get her life down but it's best to be patient. You can use the raised area near those small stairs to perform acrobatics off of, use that sparingly though. As with your first battle with her simply continue the initial strategy with blocking, attacking, dodging, and remember to constantly move. If you're getting frustrated back off a bit until she starts walking back to kick the lady in red off the area (Make sure she doesn't get there though..When she starts walking she'll turn her back to you allowing you a free attack) ###################### ###################### #3 Boss: Empress Boss' Weapons: Two swords Princes Weapons: Lion sword Special Abilities: Teleport, Spawn Imperial Guards Attacks: Simple Combo Note: Fill Up On Sand Tanks Before Fighting The Empress of Time...Said to be a being created by the gods. Be careful, this is one tough lady. She's capable of teleporting around the arena nearly always right in front of you so keep moving. Since you know she will teleport infront of you, or at least near you, use that to your advantage, but first you best stock up on your sand tanks by breaking the pots around the room (Quickly move away from the Empress, far out of her range that way she won't teleport to you) You'll see some weapon racks but don't bother using two weapons at this point, you'll need them a bit later. As with Shahdee the Empress does have a repeated set of combos but hers are much stronger. Don't bother relying too much on blocking as she can get through it. Use the poles in the throne room to attack (The move where you spin around the pole and attack) She will always teleport near you so if you time it right you'll slice her right as she teleports with the pole since it does a circular pattern. The occasional technique of blocking and backing off then rushing foreward for an attack is advisable. As her health depletes she will rise up on a pillar of sand, just ignore her when she does this, you can't attack her yet. She spawns two Imperial Guards in the throne room to attack you. You won't be able to attack her directly until you deal with those two. Remember the weapon racks? Go break one and pick up a weapon. Facing the Imperial Guards throw the weapon full force at one of them. If done right it will automatically die. Lure the other one away a bit and run to the place where you killed the first guard. Pick up it's weapon and throw it at the other guard. If you mess up in throwing you can use either the block-counter-attack method or use the wall to vault at it. As you defeat the two Guards the Empress will return to attacking you, her tactics are the same as before so use the same strategy as mentioned previously. You will eventually get to a grapple scene, rapidly tap the attack button to beat her. She will once again rise in the pillar of sand and send out an Imperial Guard. Either use a weapon from the other weapon rack or use the method mentioned earlier. After you deal with the last guard use the same strategy you did for both the times you fought her earlier. Don't get careless and try to go for a lot of damage in one go, just take it slow. ###################### ###################### #4 Boss: Thrall Boss' Weapons: Fists Princes Weapons: Scorpion Sword Special Abilities: None Attacks: Smash and Throw The Thrall is similiar to all the other Brute/Thralls you faced. As the battle starts roll through it's lags and begin to slash the back of it's legs. If it moves around retreat back and roll under again. Continue this until falls to a kneel. Climb onto it's back and begin to attack it's head. Pay close attention to his arms, you can usually tell which one he is going to grab you with, when he does, move onto the opposite side of his back until his hand goes back down. Attack again, and look at his hands, move to the opposite side of his back again, and go back to attacking. If you get thrown off go back to rolling through his legs and attacking his legs until he falls to a kneel. Repeat until he is defeated ###################### ###################### #5 Boss: Griffin Boss' Weapons: Talons/Beak Princes Weapons: Scorpion Sword Special Abilities: None Attacks: Beak Peck and Tail Swipe Being the SandWraith makes this boss one of the easiest in the game. As theGriffin lands onto the arena use The Eye of The Storm power and begin slashing it's sides and/or back. Since you're the SandWraith, sand tanks don't really matter so you can also use Ravages of Time to inflict quick damage to him. He will eventually fly above the arena and nose dive at you. Wait until he actually dives then roll out of the way. He will continue this for a few more times then land back down. When he lands use one of your time abilities and do the same as before. Before you know it he'll be defeated. ###################### ###################### #6A Boss: Empress Boss' Weapons: Two swords Princes Weapons: Scorpion Sword Special Abilities: Teleport, Eye of the Storm, Cyclone Creation Attacks: Simple Combo Note: Fill Up On Sand Tanks Before Fighting Your futile attempt to try and change the Empress fails and she decides her only choice is to kill you, so the battle commences. As soon as the battle begins roll out of the way to dodge her initial attack. She uses the same combos as well as teleportion but this time there aren't any poles to help you out. The safest tactic is to constantly attack and retreat. Roll and attack straight into herafter she has finished one of her combo sequences, roll around to another sideof her and attack a few more times, then quickly back away. She may use Eye of the Storm to give herself the advantage, if you're close to her you should use your own Eye of the Storm to turn it against her, if you're far away simply keep making your way further away from her until it runs out, no need wasting a sand tank when she's not a threat to teleport and attack you at that time. Eventually she will rise up in a sand pillar and create a few cycloones, now these babies inflict MASSIVE damage so it's best to stay out of their way. Don't bother walking, continiously roll around the arena in a circlular motion making sharp direction changes as the cyclones reach you. Continue this until she stops, and as she stops the cyclones leave behind sand for your tanks, so stock up. Go back to the initial strategy once again until you get to a grapple, rapidly tap attack and win the grapple and she will eventually go back to the pillar of sand. Dodge the cyclones the same was as before until she stops and returns to the ground. Don't be afraid to slow down time occasionaly when she teleports right near you to gain a surprise attack advantage on her. Also don't bother with Ravages of Time as it isn't completely useful here. Just conserve your sand tanks and use them only when you really need to. Her teleports can be dodged as long as you continue rolling until she settles in one spot. As with all other bosses, be patient until you can defeat her. ###################### ###################### #6B Boss: Dahaka Boss' Weapons: Tendrils/Fists Princes Weapons: Water Sword Special Abilities: None Attacks: Tendrils and Fists Note: Fill Up On Sand Tanks Before Fighting (Although Sand Does Regenerate On The Arena) You've obtained the Water Sword, a mysterious sword capable of taking on the Dahaka. It's power is said to be unimaginabely immense. The Dahaka is a relatively easy boss once you get used to his attack pattern. As soon as the match starts he will just be stand there, go in for a standard Attack-Attack-Attack-Attack combo and then back off. He may begin jumping on you (He does later on if he manages to get up off the edge) If he does, roll out of the way and retreat away until he remains stationary. When stationary, given that you are far away, he will shoot his tendrils up through the ground, to avoid them run in a moderately small circle (The tendrils appear in front of you and the circular motion keeps you changing direction) As he does that, make your way slowly closer to him. As you get close he shoots out his tendrils in a circlular motion from left to right (Usually) in which you need to roll to avoid. As soon as you've avoided them, use Eye of the Storm and go in for a combo attack, continue until time returns to normal, the second it returns to normal (Or earlier, your choice) retreat back and continue the circular run to avoid his tendrils and rolling under his tendrils. Each time you avoid his tendrils that he shoots straight out, slow down time and attack. Around the time his health reaches half the Empress will help you out and shoot him onto the edge of the arena. He will be a prime target stuck on the edge. Make sure you have 6 full sand tanks (Fill up on the sand around you if you need to) and head over to him. Slow down time, attack continiously with Attack-Attack-Attack-Attack combo. As time returns to normal slow down time again and do the same attack combo. As time returns to normal once again use Ravages of Time and go all out with the standard attack combo (Two weapon combos don't work because the Water Sword is the only thing that can damage him) As Ravages of Time wears out, use it again and if you're lucky he will be killed in that last run. If not, try to quickly stock up on more sand and either slow down time or use Ravages again. If he get's up he will regain some health and begin to jump around the arena, roll to get out of his way until he remains stationary. He will once again shoot tendrils out int he same fashion as before, continue the initial strategy. It will take a bit longer if you fail to kill him while on the edge but he will eventually die if you continue the same tactics. Remember...Stay focused, stay calm, and be patient. ###################### ######### #Copyrights# ######### Currently, this FAQ is only to be used on IGN.com and SuperCheats.com FAQ Copyright 2004 Sesshoumaru ([email protected]) All trademarks and copyrights within this FAQ are property of their respective owners.
