Version 0.5 - Most Weapons, all Projectiles recorded, all moves
listed. No ASCII Artwork yet -.- (any volunteers? email me!). Unreleased
during this stage.

Version 0.75 - Aquired many more weapons, upgraded, and listed their
moves and my assessments of each. Still need the Dark Dragon Blade, and
the Plasma Saber, but the rest of the weapons are here. Gotta upgrade
Kitetsu as well. Added the Ninpo, and the rest of the Armlets. No ASCII
work still (I haven't even posted this yet, either...) I have to say
this FAQ is getting somewhere.

Version 0.95 - Getting close to finished. Still need to unlock the last
few weapons, add the Misc. Items section, and various other little
things (check for grammar, etc...). I updated the look of the guide a
bit, to make it easier to read (and make it look cooler! ^_^). I think
I'll submit it to GameFAQs now.

= A. Dragon Sword =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A Japanese sword handed down in the Hayabusa Ninja Clan. It
is carved out of the fang of a dragon.

Level: * of *** when received.

	- Note: Fourth level only achieved by adding the Dragon's Eye
		  to it during Chapter 13.
	- Another Note: Is it just me, or does the Dragon Sword have more
moves than the rest of the weapons? Biased, eh
                      Tecmo? =P

My Assesment: Your main weapon in the game, has some pretty decent
attacks, but has average speed, and short range. Unless you have some
other preference, you'll use it alot, especially once you get it
upgraded. Turns into the True Dragon Blade, once combined with the
Dragon's Eye.

Moves:
	- Crimson Slash: X X X
	- Dragon Tear:
	- Tiger Roar: X X Y
	- Fang of the Wolf: X X Y Y (Level 2)
	- Unknown Move (not listed in game): X Y Y
	- Blade of the Dragon's Tail: X X Y Y Y (Level 3)
	- Fiend's Bane Kick: X X >X X (Why is this one NOT from Scroll?)
OR: X X (While Blocking, Scroll)
	- Early Winter Rain: X X >X Y
	- Blade of Nirrti: X Y X X X X (Level 2)
		OR: X X X X (While jumping straight up, Level 2)
	- Izuna Drop (Throw): X Y X X X Y (Scroll)
OR: X X X Y (While jumping straight up, Scroll)
	- Windmill Slash: >X
	- Blade of the Undefeatable: Y
	- Haze Straight Slash: _Y
	- Extinction Straight Slash: _Y (One Essence)
	- Hundred Wing Blade _Y (Max Essence)
	- Storm of the Heavenly Dragon:
	- Azure Dragon: >Y
      - Scarlet Dragon: > _Y
	- Blade of the Twin Dragons:
	- Violent Wind: X (While Running)
	- Violent Gale: X X (While Running, Level 2)
	- Thunderclap Kick: Y (While Running)
	- Flying Crane: ()Y (Level 2)
	- Gleaming Blade: () _Y (Level 3)
	- Roaring Gleam: () _Y (One Essence, Level 3)
	- Annihilating Gleam: () _Y (Max Essence, Level 3)
	- True Dragon Gleam:
	- Gleaming Cross: Y (While Blocking, Scroll)
	- Fiend Seealer: Y (While next to a downed enemy)
	- Blade of Empty Air: X (While jumping straight up)
	- Helmet Splitter: Y (While jumping straight up)
	- Air Destruction Slash: X (While jumping forward)
	- Falling Dragon Blade: Y (While jumping forward)
	- Flying Swallow: Y (While jumping towards an enemy, Level 2)
OR: X or Y (While wall running, Level 2)
	- Guillotine Throw: X + A (While jumping near an enemy, Scroll)
	- Cicada Slash: X or Y (While on a wall)
	- Divine Cicada Slash: X or Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Wave Reverser: X X or Y Y (While floating on waters surface)
	- Ripple Slash: X or Y (While swimming on waters surface)
	- Floating Blade: X X (While underwater)
	- Gleaming Water Dragon: Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques: I personally don't use the Dragon Sword as much
as I probably should, but it does have SOME good moves.

= Crimson Slash is basic, but effective.
= Blade of the Dragon's Tail is great, but requires Level 3.
= As with all weapons, the essence moves are vital (especially
when trying to amass large amounts of yellow essence).
= Having trouble with an enemy whom is blocking too much? Use
my "Unknown Move". It isn't listed by the game, but using
that sequence knocks the enemy into the air, and finishes
them with a powerful downward slash.
= Another good tactic for blockers is to use Wind Run (see
Section M under weapons if you don't know what this is), then
immediately follow up with a Guillotine Throw. This will allow
you to assault them once they hit the ground and are
	  defenseless!
= Fiend sealer is great if you happen to knock an enemy down that
could be tricky (teleporters, Black Spider Ninja, etc...).
= One of the most powerful and useful moves the Dragon Sword
provides is the Divine Cicada Slash. After doing a Flying
Bird Flip (Section M...), The Divine Cicada Slash is a semi-
homing move that does a fair amount of damage to any opponent,
including bosses. If you're having trouble with a beginning
boss, this is your friend (provided there are walls nearby...)
= Flying Swallow is good during boss fights where you can't
afford to be hit. Just jump by them, tap Y, and you slash
        through them, rinse and repeat.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 3rd with Dabilahro.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= B. True Dragon Sword =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: The legendary ultimate form of the Dragon Sword, achieved
by fitting the Dragon's Eye into it.

Level: N/A

My Assessment: It sure does take a while to get it, but the True Dragon
Sword kicks some serious arse. The moves are the same as the Dragon
Sword (which was pretty good to begin with), except you learn the Level
4 moves (although they don't show the True Dragon Sword as having a
level).

Moves:

	- Dragon Tear: X X X Y (Level 4)
	- Storm of the Heavenly Dragon: _Y (Max Essence, Level 4)
	- Blade of the Twin Dragons: >_Y Y Y (Level 4)
	- True Dragon Gleam: ()_Y (Max Essence, Level 4)

Reccomended Techniques:

= There are only four more new techniques, and all of them are
quite powerful. The only real unimpressive move that is given
to you is the Dragon Tear. It may be powerful, but doesn't look
        very awe-inspiring.
= The True Dragon Gleam is very cool looking, Ryu
spins around creating a whirlwind of sorts (kinda like the
Max Essence Lunar move), and then finishes with an upwards
        slash.
= The Blade of the Twin Dragons technique is pretty good too, a
nice combo attack starting with a forward slash, a few kicks
and slashes, ending with an upward slash and backflip.
= Combine these with the rest of the awesome moves from the
Dragon Sword, and you're all set!

Personal Ranking: Tied for 1st with Lunar.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= C. Wooden Sword =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A sword made from wood. It is used mainly to practice sword
fighting and is incapable of cutting attacks.

Level: * of *******! Yeah, expensive. But worth it.

	- Note: Transforms into the Unlabored Flawlessness at Level 7.
	- Another Note: This is the only weapon you actually have to
buy! Yeah, it's cheap, but upgrading it isn't...

My Assessment: Only use this sword if you are just goofing off,
otherwise it is worthless, so worthless I'm not even going to put down
it's techniques right now, perhaps I will at a later time.

Personal Ranking: Last. =P

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= D. Unlabored Flawlessness =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: The true form of the Wooden Sword. Containing an ethereal
sense of weight, its impacts are incredibly powerful.

Level: N/A

My Assessment: Many people consider this the best sword in the game, and
it is worthy of other's praise. It has the most power out of any other
sword (at least, it seems that way...). However, it suffers from it's
large size (even though the description says it should weigh close to
nothing, it swings like Ryu was trying to swing a whale or something)
making it probably the SLOWEST weapon in the game. Sure, it can kill
most enemies in 1-3 hits, and does great damage. But if you can't
actually HIT the guys, how do you take advantage of the power?

Moves:
	- Flaming Hell Slash: X X Y
	- Flying Dragon Falling Slash: X Y X X X X
		OR: X X X X (While jumping, the "X Y" from above just gets
                          you into the air)
	- Izuna Drop (Throw): X Y X X X Y (Scroll)
		OR: X X X Y (While jumping, Scroll)
	- Forest Winds and Mountain Fires: X _Y Y
	- Boulder Splitter: Y
	- Steel Splitter: _Y
	- Tempered Steel Splitter: _Y (One Essence)
	- Earth Splitter: _Y (Max Essence)
	- Hundred Demons Bite: >X
	- Flaming Whirlwind: >Y
	- Earth Slide: X (While running)
	- Thunderclap Kick: Y (While running)
	- Reigning Spiral: X or Y (While blocking, Scroll)
	- Hundred Man Slash: () Y
	- Corpse Crusher: Y (Next to a downed enemy)
	- Avalanche Drop: Y (While jumping)
	- Guillotine Throw: X + A (While jumping near an enemy)
	- Rolling Thunder: X or Y (While on a wall)
	- Raging Thunder: X or Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Aqua Thrust: X or Y (While floating on waters surface)
	- Water Formation Kick: X or Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques: Very slow sword here, but you can easily kill
most enemies in 3 blows or less, take advantage of that.

= Flaming Hell Slash does the trick in most cases, hell, you
don't even have to get to the third hit most times too.
= Boulder/Steel/Tempered Steel/Earth Splitter are all moves that
kill in one hit in most cases, and are pretty much the same,
only difference being that Earth Splitter has a fancy explosion
and SLIGHTLY homes in on the nearest enemy.
= Guillotine Throw again is vital for blockers.
= Hundred Man Slash is neat, and good if you are surrounded by
enemies. Most of them won't survive it.
= Earth Slide or Thunderclap Kick can be used to put an enemy
off guard and follow up with a few slashes.
= Rolling AND Raging Thunder are both equivalents of the Divine
Cicada Slash from the Dragon Sword, use it well, it will take
most enemies out in one slash. =D

Personal Ranking: 4th. I value speed over power, sorry.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= E. Lunar =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A staff that is said to harbor the mysterious power of the
moon. Crafted from the strong branch of a willow tree.

Level: * of ***

	- Note: This is available only if you downloaded the Hurricane
Pack from X-Box Live or are playing Ninja Gaiden Black.

My Assessment: Suikoden I fans rejoice! This will bring back the Tir
McDohl days for many of us, but this time you are directly controlling
the action! This weapon is a godsend, fast as the nunchaku and flail,
but more powerful (once upgraded, of course...). It also has a very cool
Max Essence move, Raven's Veil. This move creates a hurricane around
Ryu, and he moves while spinning Lunar in the direction of the nearest
enemy. =D

Moves:
	- Raven Strike: X X X
	- Dragon's Claw: X X X Y (Level 2)
	- Raven Light: X X Y
	- Twilight: X Y
	- Infinite Fury: X Y Y (Level 2)
	- Arc of the Moon: Y
	- Soul of the Crescent: _Y
	- Shrouded Crescent: _Y (One Essence)
	- Raven's Veil: _Y (Max Essence)
	- Lion's Rage: >X
		OR: >X X (Level 2)
		OR: >X X X (Level 3)
	- Black Widow: >X X X Y (Level 3)
		OR: >X X Y (Level 2)
		OR: >X Y
	- Crescent Strike: >Y
	- Full Moon Strike: >Y Y (Level 3)
	- Lunar Explosion: >Y Y Y (Level 3)
	- Purgatory's Rivet: X (While running)
	- Twin Serpent Strike: Y (While running)
	- Concealed Thrust: X or Y (While blocking, Scroll)
	- Raven Stream: () Y (Level 3)
	- Nirmanakaya: Y (Next to a downed enemy)
	- Tempest: X (While jumping)
	- Izuna Drop (Throw): X Y (While jumping, Scroll)
	- Phantom Moon: Y (While jumping)
	- Guillotine Throw: X + A (While jumping near an enemy, Scroll)
	- Gibbous: X or Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Aqua Thrust: X or Y (While floating on waters surface)
	- Water Formation Kick: X or Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques: Fast flurries of action await you! This weapon
is all about speed, fighting multiple enemies, and hitting them 15 times
before they even know what hit them!

= Raven Strike is a quick 6 hit combo, very effective in
dispatching downed enemies, or pre-weakened enemies.
= Dragon's Claw is a quick 10-12 hit combo, if you get an enemy
in this, they more than likely will NOT be coming back.
= Infinite Fury is powerful, but has a limited area of
effectiveness, so use it when you are facing a single enemy.
= Lunar Explosion is effective, powerful, and gets the job done.
Plus, it looks cool as hell.
= Twin Serpent Strike is a good crowd control move, useful for
getting into a crowd, and getting out of one.
= Raven Stream is useful if you get surrounded and are in some
        trouble.
= Raven's Veil is awesome, period.
= Nirmanakaya is your downed enemy killer, enough said.
= And as always, Guillotine Throw is great.

Ranking: Tied for 1st with True Dragon Sword.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= F. Nunchaku =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A weapon made by joining two sticks together with a chain.
It is very suited to free-form combo attacks.

Level: N/A

My Assessment: Speed, speed and more speed. The Nunchaku are the fastest
weapons in the game. However, because of that speed, they lack stopping
power. But because of the sheer amount of hits you can get on an enemy
(I've gotten 150+ with them) it makes up for the lack of power. However
again, you do get the Vigoorian Flail a few missions after the Nunchaku,
and the Vigoorian Flail is more powerful, has more moves, and is
upgradable. So if you want this style of weapon, use Nunchaku for a bit,
but you'll want to move to the Vigoorian Flail later, they have pretty
close to the same moves, and act the same way, but the Flail is better.

Moves:
	- Dragon and Phoenix: X X X X X X
	- Fire Pit: X X X X X Y
		OR: X X X X Y
		OR: X X X Y
		OR: X X Y
	- Wide Heavens: X Y
	- Another Unnamed Move: X Y Y
	- Sweeping Kick: >X
	- Flame Wheel: Y Y
	- Auspicious Crane: _Y
	- Auspicious Phoenix: _Y (One Essence)
	- Gathering Clouds: _Y (Max Essence)
	- Earth Slide: X (While running)
	- Thunderclap Kick: Y (While running)
	- Ring of Heaven Kick: X or Y (While blocking, Scroll)
	- Demon Chaser: Y (Next to a downed enemy)
	- Sweeping Strike: X (While jumping)
	- Dragon Emperor Kick: Y (While jumping)
	- Guillotine Throw: X + A (While jumping near an enemy)
	- Hell Drop: X or Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Mountain Crane: X Y or Y Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Aqua Thrust: X or Y (While floating on waters surface)
	- Water Formation Kick: X or Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques: This is close to the Lunar in terms of
technique, you definitely want to hit the enemies around you as many
times as possible to make sure they don't get back up.

= Dragon and Phoenix will serve you well in most stressful
situations, as much as I hate to reccomend button mashing, it
        works.
= Fire Pit is good, because you can cut it off any time after the
first two X's, making it very versatile.
= Wide Heavens should be good, but if you add another Y or two to
it (making it my 2nd unnamed move), Ryu will not only start
kicking into the air (as in Wide Heavens), but he will continue
to do so, then end with a hard downward kick.
= As always, a downed enemy attack is useful, in this case it is
        Demon Chaser.
= Hell Drop is useful, just like the Divine Cicada Slash from the
Dragon Sword. However, if you add the extra Y to it (Making it
into the Mountain Crane technique), you get the dropping attack
        AND some comboing afterwards. Neat.
= And as always, Guillotine Throw is loved.

Personal Ranking: 6th

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= G. Vigoorian Flail =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A weapon used by Medieval Vigoorians; it can be swung like
Nunchaku in combat.

Level: * of **

My Assessment: If I didn't have Ninja Gaiden Black, I'd probably use
this weapon most of all. I prefer speedy attacks, with a bit of power
behind them. The Vigoorian Flail delivers that. The only reason I prefer
Lunar over this, is because Lunar is more powerful, and has a much
larger range than the Vigoorian Flail does.

Moves:
	- Dragon and Phoenix: X X X X X X
	- Fire Pit: X X X X X Y
		OR: X X X X Y
		OR: X X X Y
		OR: X X Y
	- Wide Heavens: X Y
	- Cremator: X X X >X X X X X (Level 2)
	- Dragon Slaughter: X X X >X Y (Level 2)
	- Runaway Lightning (Throw): X Y (While near an enemy, Level 2)
	- Sweeping Kick: >X
	- Flame Wheel: Y Y
	- Auspicious Crane: _Y
	- Auspicious Phoenix: _Y (One Essence)
	- Gathering Clouds: _Y (Max Essence)
	- Ripping Thunder: >Y Y Y (Level 2)
	- Earth Slide: X (While running)
	- Thunderclap Kick: Y (While running)
	- Ring of Heaven Kick: X or Y (While blocking, Scroll)
	- Demon Chaser: Y (Next to a downed enemy)
	- Sweeping Strike: X (While jumping)
	- Dragon Emperor Kick: Y (While jumping)
	- Guillotine Throw: X + A (While jumping near an enemy)
	- Red-Hot Iron Brand: X or Y (While wall running)
	- Hell Drop: X or Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Mountain Crane: X Y or Y Y (During a Flying Bird Flip)
	- Aqua Thrust: X or Y (While floating on waters surface)
	- Water Formation Kick: X or Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques: Better than the Nunchaku, not quite Lunar, but
pretty much the same strategy. I'm not going to just copy and paste
the techniques from Nunchaku, so read those, plus I'm going to add
these.
= Cremator is awesome! 26+ hit combo, and kills most enemies
        without another thought.
= Dragon Slaughter isn't quite as awe-inspiring as Cremator, but
does a decent amount of damage, and is a 15 hit combo.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 2nd with Kitetsu (use this before you get
Kitetsu, then you can decide whether or not to use
this, Kitetsu, or the True Dragon Sword).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= H. War Hammer =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: Rachel's War Hammer. A Fiend Hunter's weapon, it is
suitable for taking the heads offf of Fiends.

Level: * of **

My Assessment: Another VERY powerful but HORRIBLY slow weapon. If you're
gonna go for this kinda play, I'd stick with the Unlabored
Flawlessnesss, but, if you're broke, or trying to save up for the UF,
then use this.

Moves:

	- Water Formation Kick: X or Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques: This weapon shares many of the techniques that
the Unlabored Flawlessness has, but some of it's unique techniques are
useful.
= Gleam of Heaven and Earth is just cool looking, Ryu hits the
enemy in front of him, and while the weapon is stuck in the
ground, he flips over using the weapon for balance, and hits
        in front of him again.
= The essence moves are the same as the UF (or the UF is the same
        as this, I guess...)
= Six Paths Spin is the War Hammer version of Hundred Man Slash.
	= Guillotine Throw, Yay!
= Corpse Crusher, used for downed enemies, duh.

Personal Ranking: 5th.

= I. Dabilahro =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A two-handed sword used by ancient Vigoorian berserkers.
Due to its 100-pound heft it is very powerful.

Level: * of ***

My Assessment: Following the footsteps of the Unlabored Flawlessness and
War Hammer, this weapon is VERY strong and VERY slow. However, I prefer
this weapon to the Unlabored Flawlessness for it's ability to chain
moves together into combos. For example, using a normal X combo with UF
ends up with only two strokes, and with the Dabilahro you end up with
five. So while it is not as powerful as UF, has a faster attack speed
and the ability to chain more moves together for combos.

Moves:

= J. Spear Gun =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An auto-reloading spear gun. It is not very useful out of
water.

Level: N/A

My Assessment: As the description says, it's not very useful out of
water. Inside of water, you can get rid of those nasty ghost fish
bastards that will kill you in three to four chomps. Other than that,
completely useless. Why this isn't a projectile weapon is beyond me, but
I guess it's to make sure you can't kill the ghost fishes AND the laser
robots.

Moves: (This THING has moves!?)

	- Spear Shot: X or Y
OR: X or Y (While floating on waters surface)
OR: X or Y (While underwater)
	- Earth Slide: X (While running)
	- Thunderclap Kick: Y (While running)
	- Dragon Emperor Kick: X or Y (While jumping)
OR: X or Y (While on a wall)
	- Guillotine Throw: X+A (While jumping near an enemy, Scroll)

Reccomended Techniques:

= Spear Shot is pretty much the only thing you'll use with this.
= Guillotine Throw is still awesome, though I doubt you'll use it
	  with the Spear Gun.

Personal Ranking: Dead Last.

Description: The weapon used by Doku, it is a cursed Japanese sword that
feeds on the souls of those it slays.

Level: * of ***

My Assessment: This is dropped by Doku after your first fight with him.
It seems like this is an evil version of the Dragon Sword, with some
very interesting and cool moves (once it's fully upgraded, that is...).
If you liked the Dragon Sword, you can use this until, or even after you
get the True Dragon Sword (hell, they even share alot of the same moves
too!).

	- Ripple Slash: X or Y (While swimming on waters surface)
	- Floating Blade: X (While underwater)
	- Gleaming Water Dragon: Y (While underwater)

Reccomended Techniques:

= Divine Cicada Slash Powaa!!! Yes, as useful as ever.
= Same goes for the Guillotine Throw
= The essence moves are vital as well, especially if you use this
        during a Sixty Fiend Fight.
= The Stab of Extinction is the very same move that Doku uses
against you during your first fight with him, and it is very
handy (one of the only "ranged" melee attacks).
= Fiend Sealer of course is useful for downed enemies.
= Blade of the Twin Dragons is just as powerful and useful as the
True Dragon Sword version, so those of you who prefer evil
weapons (I know I do!) the Kitetsu can still provide some
        power.
= Soul Eraser is a good move for fighting off one powerful foe,
decent hit count, and a flashy looking ending move.
= As with the Dragon Sword, the Flying Swallow Move is great for
fighting enemies where you cannot afford to be hit
        (Alma, etc...).

Personal Ranking: Tied for 2nd with Vigoorian Flail.

= M. Techniques shared by all Weapons =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

These are the last four techniques on the list that all weapons share,
learn to use them and love them, for they will serve you quite well.

	- Reverse Wind: L + D-pad
	- Wind Path: A (While jumping near an enemy)
	- Wind Run: X + A
	- Flying Bird Flip (While on a wall)

I reccomend ALL of these techniques. =D
= Reverse Wind will save your ass, all the time.
= Wind Path is useful if you jump near a group of enemies and
want to take one by surprise or open one up for combos.
= Wind Run is used to quickly close the distance between you
        and an enemy, very useful.
= Flying Bird Flip can be used to get into many places you
would normally not be able to access, and allows you to use
all the techniques akin to the Divine Cicada Slash, one of
the most useful techniques in Ninja Gaiden. =D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A simple cross-shaped throwing star.

Ammo: N/A, Infinite.

My Assessment: The bread and butter of projectiles. You NEVER run out
of Shuriken, you can throw multiple Shuriken in a line (sorta like
shooting the Mega/X Buster in a Mega Man game), and they work from a
long distance. You'll find yourself using these ALOT.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 1st with Windmill Shuriken.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= B. Incendiary Shuriken =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A shuriken with a small timer-detonated explosive at the
tip.

Ammo: Incendiary Shuriken, 100 Essence each. Max 15.

	- Note: The game calls them Shuriken, but I belive that is
incorrect, these would technically be Kunai, would they
              not?

My Assessment: Well, they CAN be useful for some things, though I find
that most enemies will deflect these back at you. You can use these to
break open some shattered walls.

Personal Ranking: 6th (Why? Read Strongbow).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= C. Windmill Shuriken =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A giant shuriken with four folding blades. When thrown, it
returns to the thrower like a boomerang.

Ammo: N/A, Infinite.

My Assessment: Another Shuriken you never run out of, and it is MUCH
more powerful than the average Shuriken (I've taken guy's heads off with
it, in one shot). You do not start off with this, however, and cannot
get it until Chapter 4. The only bad things about this are as follows:
Most enemies later in the game will block it, unless you use it in a
combo, you cannot throw multiple copies of this, as you could with
normal Shuriken, and the range is slightly less than normal Shuriken.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 1st with Shuriken.

= D. Smoke Bomb =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: When used, this item explodes, temporarily blinding all
enemies in the immediate area.

Ammo: Smoke Bombs, 300 Essence each. 15 Max.

My Assessment: Now, I really never found a reason to use these, and by
the time I started writing this guide, I was in Chapter 8, where it
seems that the Vigoorian Army are unaffected by them. Perhaps they are
useful in the beginning, but I personally found them useless.

Personal Ranking: Dead last.

= E. Bow =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A typical bow. As a projectile weapon that makes no sound,
it has advantages over firearms.

Ammo: Arrows, 10 Essence each. Max 15.

My Assesment: Ah, sniping! I LOVE to snipe. Very befitting of a ninja, a
silent killing machine. However, you rarely get any good chances to use
it, but there are even some bosses that you can use this on to get a
great advantage against them (The Mounted Samurai in the 2nd Chapter,
for example, takes ALOT of damage from the Bow). Also, in the 7th
chapter, you end up using this for puzzles as well. If you hold B, and
use the left analog stick, you can aim the bow in 1st Person. =D Have
fun, kiddies. You will use the Strongbow eventually once you find it,
because it highly surpasses the Bow.

Personal Ranking: 5th.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= F. Strongbow =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A composite bow made in Vigoor in medieval times. It cannot
be pulled by people of average strength.

Ammo: Arrows, same as Bow.

My Assessment: I thought the BOW was awesome! This one is much more
powerful, and once you get this you also start getting many different
types of ammunition for it as well. Capable of much farther distance
shooting than the original, as well as being more powerful!

Personal Ranking: 4th (only because it is better than the Bow)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= G. Explosive Arrows =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Arrows with explosive tips. Very destructive.

Ammo: Duh. 100 Essence each. Max 15.

My Assessment: Take what I said for the Strongbow, and add the fact that
they explode upon impact! It's like having super long distance
Incendiary Shuriken that enemies cannot reflect. Awesome!

Personal Ranking: 3rd.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= H. APFSDS Cores =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: The core section of tank shells. Made from a heavy tungsten
material, they have superb penetration capability.

Ammo: Duh, 200 Essence each. Max 15.

My Assessment: Well, this is something you can use to even take out
enemy tanks (you have no choice during a boss battle against two of
them). More powerful than Explosive Arrows, obviously. Best Bow-type
weapon available!

Personal Ranking: 2nd.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An armlet engraved with a picture of the sun. When
equipped, Ryu's attack power will increase.

Price: 5,000 Essence.

My Assessment: This is the only Armlet I ever use, though typically I am
all for more defense. In Ninja Gaiden, killing your enemies as quickly
as possible is one of the most important aspects of the game, especially
when you're in trouble, or mining for Essence. I highly reccomend using
this one.

Personal Ranking: 1st.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= B. Armlet of the Moon =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An armlet engraved with a picture of the moon. When
equipped, Ryu's defensive power will increase.

Price: 5,000 Essence.

My Assessment: This was my first choice for an armlet, but it doesn't
really decrease the damage done to you by enough to make it significant.

Personal Ranking: Last.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= C. Armlet of Potency =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An armlet emblazoned with the picture of a horse, it
increases the damage done by kick and throw techniques.

Price: N/A, prize for returning 5 Golden Scarabs (Normal Difficulty).

My Assessment: I suppose this could be useful, if you tend to use throws
more often than anything else. Thats about it, the kicking part isn't
very useful since most weapons don't have more than one kicking move, if
they even have one at all.

Personal Ranking: 3rd.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= D. Armlet of Celerity =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An armlet engraved with the figure of a dragon, it
descreases the time needed to charge Ultimate Techniques.

Price: N/A, prize for returning 25 Golden Scarabs (Normal Difficulty).

My Assessment: I would think that power overall is more important than
being able to use Ultimate Techniques quicker than you normally would.
Plus, it doesn't even decrease the amount of time by THAT much to make
it worth using.

Personal Ranking: 2nd

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= E. Armlet of Benediction =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An armlet emblazoned with the figure of a goddess. When
equipped, it increases Yellow Essence absorption.

Price: N/A, prize for returning 30 Golden Scarabs (Normal Difficulty).

My Assessment: "Increases Yellow Essence absorption"? What in the hell
does that mean? I'll figure it out later, until then...

Personal Ranking: Tied for 4th with Armlet of Fortune.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= F. Armlet of Fortune =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: An armlet emblazoned with the figures of two elephants.
Wehn equipped, it increases Ki power build-up.

Price: N/A, prize for returning 40 Golden Scarabs (Normal Difficulty)

My Assessment: So, this armlet increases the chances of you getting red
orbs when you defeat enemies, I guess. Can be useful, if you're low on
Devil elixirs and you need some Ki.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 4th with Armlet of Benediction.

Ninpo [NP]

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= A. Art of the Fire Wheels =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Allows Ryu to control the spiritual waveforms around him
and create fire wheels that circle him.

Price: 5000 Essence?

Level: N/A

My Assessment: This is a pretty good Ninpo, especially when you're
fighting groups of annoying enemies. It creates fireballs (not fire
"wheels" like the description says) around Ryu, and you can no longer be
hit by most enemy attacks, and if anyone runs into you (or vice versa)
they will be caught on fire and damaged. Great idea.

Personal Ranking: 2nd.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= B. Art of the Inferno =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Allows Ryu to control fire at will, first enveloping him in
flame and then shooting a fireball in front of him.

Price: N/A, you find it, I believe.

Level: * of ***

My Assessment: This will become your Ninpo of choice until you get the
Art of the Inazuma. There are TONS of uses for it, including defeating
Alma the first time you fight her (well, it's part of defeating her).
This creates a homing fireball, burning anything and anyone in it's
path. Awesome! However, Inazuma can hit many more enemies than Inferno,
but it is weak when used against bosses. Use THIS whenever you fight a
boss.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 1st with Inazuma.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= C. Art of the Ice Storm =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Allows Ryu to quickly change the atmosphere around him,
creating a whirlwind containing shards of ice.

Price: N/A, you find it.

Level: * of ***

My Assessment: I used this Ninpo a bit, to try it out. However, I found
it the most useless of the four Ninpo. It doesn't do much damage (well,
at least not at level one), and it's effects don't last very long. This
Ninpo freezes all the enemies near you when you use it, so I guess it
can be a last ditch effort against some annoying enemies (Black Spider
Dragons, for example, this'll stop them from throwing Incendiary
Shurikens at you!). But, still the least effective of the Ninpo to me.

Personal Ranking: Dead Last.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= D. Art of the Inazuma =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Allows Ryu to amplify his internal bioelectric current and
blast it out to the surrounding area.

Price: N/A, you get it after fighting the first Electric Worm Boss (In
Normal Difficulty)

Level: * of ***

My Assessment: Yes! Electric attack! Muhuhahaha! This is the best Ninpo
by far. The Inferno was good because it killed whatever it hit, and was
homing. Well, Inazuma amplies that a bit by killing anyone within a
certain distance of you (aside from bosses, of course, I tried using it
against a boss and well, no luck in terms of damage). So, if you're
using Ninpo against enemies, use this. Bosses, use Inferno.

Personal Ranking: Tied for 1st with Inferno.

Description: A spiritual elixir that heals Ryu's wounds slightly.

Price: Found everywhere! Plus 500 essence each. Max 10.

My Assessment: This isn't really necessary, but you'll need these
throughout the whole game, and lots of em. The only heal about 1/6 of
your health bar, but hey, it's better than nothin'!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= B. Great Spirit Elixir =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A spiritual elixir that completely heals Ryu's wounds.

Price: Found everywhere, just less often. 5,000 Essence each. Max 5.

My Assessment: This will save your arse more times than you'd think.
Healing ALL of your health bar, no matter how big it gets. Use 'em
sparingly though, or you'll wonder where they all went when you REALLY
need em.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= C. Elixir of the Devil Way =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A spiritual elixir that replenishes Ryu's Ki power
slightly.

Price: Found everywhere, less often. 2,000 Essence Each. Max 5.

My Assessment: "Slighty" in this case just means by one. But, don't
underestimate the power of an extra Inferno or Inazuma attack. Very
useful during tight situations.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= D. Great Devil Elixir =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A spiritual elixir that replenishes Ryu's Ki power greatly.

Price: Rarely found. 10,000 Essence! Max 3.

My Assessment: After you get 4 or 5 Ki energy slots, these will come in
handy. Use them sparingly, more so than Great Spirit Elixirs, because
you rarely ever find them, and they're expensive. You'd like to have
some of these around in a boss fight or during a 60 Fiend Fight.

= E. Talisman of Rebirth =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A talisman that protects its owner. When Ryu's health is
fully depleted, it will automatically revive him.

Price: Rarest of all consumable items. 15,000 Essence each!

My Assessment: These bad boys will REALLY safe your arse. Anytime you
die with one of these, you ressurrect with full Health AND Ki. Useful
during a boss fight with someone whose pattern you haven't quite gotten
down yet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= F. Life of the Gods. =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A jewel that shines bright blue. Ryu's health limit can be
increased by using nine of these jewels.

Price: N/A, you MUST find them.

My Assessment: Spend alot of time in each area trying to find these,
because once you get 9 of them, your health bar increases in size, and
trust me, you'll need every millimeter of health bar you can get in this
game!

= G. Lives of a Thousand Gods =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Nine shining jewels bound together. It raises Ryu's maximum
health limit instantly.

Price: N/A, gotta find 'em all!

My Assessment: This is just like immediately finding 9 Life of the Gods
jewels. Whenever you can, find these and use them! Immediate length
added to your health bar!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= H. Spirit of the Devils =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Used all of those, too.

Price: N/A, find em.

My Assessment: You use these to increase your Ki slots. VERY useful if
you like to use Ninpo (and if you don't now, you will once you get a
maxed out Inazuma!). Search everywhere for these, there are only a few
of them.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
= I. Jewel of the Demon Seal =
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: A jewel that shines dark purple. It can be used to increase
the potency of certain Ninpo techniques.

Price: N/A, find em!

My Assessment: Maxed out Inazuma? You can level Ninpo? YES! There very
few of these in the game, but when you get them, SAVE them for later. I
used one on Inferno, and two on Inazuma (and I think you only get
five...). Maxed out Inazuma is a godsend at the end of the game!

Q: How come I didn't get (insert item here) from Golden Scarabs?
A: Are you playing on Normal difficulty? I wrote this guide with
that difficulty in mind. If you're playing Hard difficulty you
get different items for Golden Scarabs (for example, for giving 5
Golden Scarabs, you get the Wooden Sword, it cannot be bought in
   Hard)

Once I get some emails with some questions (IF you guys even have any) I
will make this section complete.

Website: not finished
Hobbies: Anime, Manga, Toku/Sentai (japanese "superhero" shows, Sentai
means "Task Force" and is where we got the idea of Power Rangers from),
Drawing, Music (playing, composing, singing, listening, etc...), Video
Games (as if you couldn't tell that part, right?).

Guides contributed: - Faxanadu Item Guide (you'd be surprised how hard
some of those items are to find!)

			  - Dragon Ball Z: Tenkaichi Budokai (NES game not
released here, hard to understand to play, so I
wrote a guide for it)

		        - Ninja Gaiden Black Move/Item Guide (And this one)

			  - I quite possibly will be adding an Elder Scrolls
IV guide, and/or a Dead Rising guide.

                    - I completed a Resident Evil 4 Weapons Guide a few
years ago, but it was lost due to the fact that
my computer died, I have the HDD, and once I get
another new PC I will try to dig it out of it and
submit it (because unlike SOME people, I actually
took the time to get all the information from the
game, instead of the Brady Strategy Guide!).

Well, it took me a while to get this guide out here, and it probably
won't be finished for a while, but it is nearing completion with each
time I edit it (and I do so at least once a month). I still haven't
finished the game entirely, though I'm really close. Once I do, I'll add
how to get the extra costumes, and any neat information about the
original Ninja Gaiden that you unlock with 50 Golden Scarabs.

If you have any extra concerns, feel free to email me. I will not
tolerate Spam, Flaming, etc... Please put "Ninja Gaiden Black" in the
Subject so I will not ignore you. If you find any errors in my guide,
have any suggestions, grammatical corrections, etc... Point them out, I
will fix them, and you will be credited with helping me.
