Get a certain amount of good or evil, and she'll come to you. You'll fight on your ship (and you'll own her, of course), but you'll stop when you break her saber. You get it or a part (depending on where you are in the game), and then you'll show mercy and take her to the medbay. Atton will inform you she's a Miraluka, a very Force Sensitive race. And she'll be on your team from then on.
You can do it.
Usually after you complete your main mission (finding the jedi) on one planet she will confront you on your ship. Once you defeat her you can kill her or let her join you.
After getting enough light or dark side points there will be a little cutscene. Once you aboard your ship again after the cutscene she will be in your ship and you fight after you beat her and have a little chat with Atton about her in the Med bay she will join your party
