Toad Harbor

Normally at Toad Harbor you will get knocked out by the trams when you drive into them by accident. However if you are flying after jumping from a ram or booster it is possible to use the roofs of the trams to your advantage. If you land on the trams roof you will bounce off it undamaged and if you can perform a flip as you are bounced off you can gain some extra boost.


Rocket Boost

When '2' appears on the screen at the start of a race press the accelerator button and hold it down to get a rocket boost.


Unlock Characters

When you earn a Gold Trophy (1st place) on any track in Grand Prix mode you will be given one of the 14 Characters at random. When a character has been unlocked on a particular track and CC class, you will not be able to unlock another new character from that same situation. The characters are Rosalina, Metal Mario, Lakitu, Toadette, Baby Rosalina, Gold Peach, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, Larry, Wendy, Ludwig, Morton, Mii. The final racer unlocked will always be your Mii.


Manually selecting the Season on the Animal Crossing DLC Track

When you hold a specific button while selecting the Animal Crossing stage with A you will discover that you will be able to choose what season you play on. These are: L for Spring R for Summer zL for Autumn zR for Winter.


Unlock Alternate Credits and Title Screen

This hidden feature appears when you have earned a Gold Trophy on every 150cc speed race and every Mirror mode race.


Unlock Mirror Mode

This feature will become available when you earn a Gold Trophy on ALL 8 Grand Prix tracks.


Cups

When you finish the following circuits in 1st place you will win the corresponding cup.

Flower Cup:

Complete the Mushroom Cup.

Star Cup:

Complete the Flower Cup.

Special Cup:

Complete the Star Cup.

Banana Cup:

Complete the Shell Cup.

Leaf Cup:

Complete the Banana Cup.

Lightning Cup:

Complete the Leaf Cup.


Unlocking Vehicle Parts

Whenever you collect 50 coins random kart parts will become unlocked. When you have collected 1000 coins random kart parts will then become unlocked every 100 coins. The only exception to this rule are the gold kart parts.


Unlock Gold Parts

Complete the following tasks to unlock the corresponding Gold.

Gold Glider:

Collect 10,000 Coins (Multiplayer gives players the total amount of Coins collected by ALL players during each race).

Gold Handle:

Use the Wii Handle for 50% of your most recent 100 stages.

Gold Standard Kart:

Get at least one star (54 points or more) on every 150cc and Mirror mode race.

Gold Tires:

Beat ALL of the Time Trials Staff Ghosts.


Grand Prix Stars

Getting 1st place in a Grand Prix will reward you with a Gold trophy and up to 3 stars, the amount of stars you receive is based on the number of points you obtained.

1 Star:

Earn 54 or 55 points (Two 1st and Two 2nd place finishes or alternately Three 1st and One 3rd Place finish).

2 Stars:

Earn 57 Points (Three 1st place finishes and One 2nd place finish).

3 Stars:

Earn 60 Points (Four 1st place finishes).


Miiverse Stamps

In total there are 62 unlockable Miiverse stamps (30 character stamps and 32 track stamps). Complete the following tasks to unlock them.

Character Stamp:

Finish 1st in any Grand Prix with that character.

Track/Course Stamp:

Beat the normal staff ghost time for track.


Miiverse Stamps

Complete the following tasks to unlock the Miiverse Stamps. There are 62 Unlockable Miiverse Stamps in total, 30 character stamps and 32 track stamps.

Character Stamp:

Finish 1st in any Grand Prix with that character.

Track/Course Stamp:

Beat the normal staff ghost time for track.


On-Screen Map

If you've ever been racing & wished the map was on screen as you are racing, now it can be. In the latest update, you can now press minus on the gamepad to create an on-screen map.
