Rune Factory Frontier The Complete Guide By gorypaldin2 ========== Disclaimer ========== I do not own anything to do with Rune Factory Frontier. The only thing I own is this guide and by that I mean the information I complied and the time I spent playing the game to compile my information that is in this guide. ============ Contributors ============ Though I complied most of this information my self I can not take credit for all of it. The following users on Gamefaqs.com helped me, by providing information that is present in this guide. I would like to list them now, guys you have all my thanks and appreciation for helping me in providing information to all the users out there. THIS SECTION DOES CONTAIN SPOLIERS, please be aware of that before reading further in this section Also I will post detailed schedule charts towards the end of the guide. So please refer to those for locations and such of the characters. Raguna of course is where ever you want him to be. ============================ Raguna (Name can be changed) ============================ This is you, the player character. He represents you in this game. There is not much more to say about him than that. He has lost his memory and has come to the Village of Trampoli to look for Mist. ==== Mist ==== Mist lives one screen over from you along the Beach Road, she is the default marriage candidate and the person whom I would think would be the canonical ending. She is a little bit of a ditz, but over all is a very cheerful person who dances to the beat of her own drum. Mist is also present from the start of the game. ------ Likes ------ -Emery Flowers -Turnips (any variation) -When you till your field The best gifts to give Mist are Turnips and Emery Flowers, she also likes it when you work in your field. To elaborate Keep your field plowed and cleared and Mist’s LP will go up. -------- Dislikes -------- While I have found that Mist likes any type of Turnip she hates Pickled Turnips under no circumstances give these to her. ====== Melody ====== Another returnee from Rune Factory 1 Melody is the resident bath freak and owns a hot spring. Melody is not available right off the bat she must be acquired. To get Melody you must venture to Whale Island. Upon entering the Whale Island Cave simply proceed forward and you will encounter Melody. After an event you will get a Cheap Hammer and Melody will proceed to open up a Bath House in the Business District of town. ----- Likes ----- -When you take a bath. -Grass (particularly the rarer varieties) To get Melody Love Points up simply give her any colored grass once a day and go take a bath. Aside from Bianca she is probably the cheapest girl to get because the Bath House costs 10g and grass grows on your field so you can get that for free. Just follow the above every day and her points will go up pretty fast. The event to acquire Melody can be done the first day of the game. ======= Rosetta ======= There is no event needed to acquire Rosetta or to make her stay in Trampoli. Every day at 5 p.m. Rosetta will come to your farm to pick up anything you have placed in the bin that day. Note- Placing Weeds only in the bin will cause her to get angry, but if you place the weeds in with other things than you should have no problems. After the 14th day of Spring Rosetta will open up a grocery store in the Business District and this store is called Materia. ----- Likes ----- -Having goods to put in the bin -Sweets particularly Strawberries, Hot milk and Hot chocolate. The food items will cause her Love Points to go up more than the bin, but because you will probably be using the bin daily it will be a bigger source of Love Points for you, even though it only raises Love Points a little. ==== Lara ==== It seems like all the girls from Rune Factory 1 are crawling out of the woodwork, not that I mind and neither should you. Getting Lara to arrive in Trampoli is also pretty simple. One the 4th day of Spring in the Year One Mist will come down with a cold. Go to her house to see her, and the next day Raguna will get sick and pass out. Lara arrives and heals him. From now on she can be found in the church and runs the infirmary. ----- Likes ----- -Your Health -Orange, Strawberry or Cherry Jam -------- Dislikes -------- -When you pass out from over work or because you died in a dungeon To get Lara’s Love Points up give her the jams I mentioned above and do not die. If you die for any reason Lara’s Love Points will go down. ======= Bianca ======= Bianca is your typical spoiled rich girl. There is not much to say except for me to tell you how to get her to stay in the village. Bianca arrives on the 1st day of Summer of Year One. Note- The event that gets Bianca to stay in the village will also secure the permanent residence of her maid Tabitha. How to Get Bianca to Stay -Build a barn (go see Kross) -Once you have built a barn go traverse the Whale Island Cave keep going through its not hard to get lost and eventually you will come across a friendly elephant monster. -After the scene ,go back to the barn just to make sure the elephant is there, then to to Bianca’s place of residence (South District North of Erik’s House). -A scene will occur if Bianca is there Note- This will not work to my knowledge on holidays, I am still working on dates that it will work but I’m pretty sure the 16th, and 27th have been confirmed. If anyone has a list of confirmed dates please feel free to email me. You will get credit. -Any ways give Bianca the elephant and she will stay permanently in Trampoli. If you do not complete the above before the end of summer Bianca will leave and return next summer. The only way to raise Bianca’s Love Points is to talk to her and to participate in festivals such as the St. Coquille Festival. Talk to her every day and especially during festivals. Make sure you get her in the Water Melon Piñata game. ---------------------------------- Confirmed Dates for Elephant Event ---------------------------------- All the dates are in the Summer. 2nd, 10th to 17th and 27th ======= Tabitha ======= Tabitha is Bianca’s maid and goes where she goes. Tabitha is an elf and only be getting Love Points with her can you meet a certain character… ----- Likes ----- -Tabitha likes animals so the more animals you have and if you take care of them this will cause her Love Points to go up. -Also Relax Tea, Porridge and Vegetable Juice. ====== Eunice ====== Eunice is present at the start of the game. There is no event required to get her or to make her stay in town. She works in the Inn located in the Business District. Due to certain events Eunice’s liked items will change. -------------------- Normal (Fat) Eunice -------------------- This is the default Eunice and she likes it when you -Cook -Give her Chocolate, Ice Cream or Chestnuts ----------- Slim Eunice ----------- Through certain events Eunice can be induced to go on a diet. If you choose to go this route than she will like it when you -Cook -Give her vegetables, candies and other sweet things are off limits. ====== Anette ====== Anette is available for courtship from the start of the game. As the resident mail carrier you have to be up early to catch her. She appears to live out side of Trampoli so to court her you must do so when she is in town. Anette starts in the South District then moves through to The Homestead, Beach Road, Church Distruct, Business District. ----- Likes ----- -When you read the non-request mail. So just read all the letters you get. -Give her Cheesecake, Choco Pudding, Roasted Yams and Curry Udon ======== Cinnamon ======== She is Candy's big sister, Kanno's grand daughter and she likes to fish and stargaze. She is also really good at magic, but does not talk a lot. To get Cinnamon to stay in town just talk to Kanno any day after the 7th day of Spring (between 11am and Noon is good) he will talk about his grand daughters. Leave the clock tower and a scene should take place. Welcome Cinnamon. ----- Likes ----- -Talk to her about astronomy, stargazing exct. -Talk to her about fishing -Give her fish she really likes black fish which can only be caught during winter and according to sources in the spring. But winter is you best bet though -Give her magic crystals ====== Selphy ====== Selphy is an interesting character for a lot of reasons. Reason one is she breaks the traditional Rune Factory/Harvest Moon librarian girl archtype that long time fans of either series will be so used to seeing by now. Selphy moves in the day after Lara arrives and can moslty be found in the Rune Archives. ----- Likes ----- Selphy likes to read, well like is an understatement but Selphy does love books. If you want to share Selphy's love you have to read books. Selphy will often get new books in at the Rune Archive, stop by periodically and read everything on the shelves as this will boost her love. She also likes sandwiches -When you read -Sandwiches ===== Uzuki ===== Uzuki is a girl from a distant land. She travels with some sort of talking roach like creature that is always following her around. She is also pretty decent with a weapon and can be seen practicing with it infront of the inn. She is also looking for her brother ----- Likes ----- To get the love of Uzuki you must remind her of home and be a big hero. -The first time you defeat a dungeon boss -Cook her various fish dishes that sound foreign ie Bonito Sashimi. ==== Iris ==== The last and arguably hardest girl to marry Iris comes in two flavours Blanche or Noir (French for white and black respectivly). White Iris lives in the tower in Whale Island Fin and only comes out at night. Black Iris you will meet in the Snow Ruins. To get the Iris' to move into town and make them easier to marry you have to beat the story line of Rune Facotry Frontier. Save your self time and get the Iris' flowers only. Don;t bother with other gifts, use flowers. ----- Likes ----- -Flowers This concludes the marriable girls part of this section. Anything below this is for the non-marriable villagers if you want to be friends. ====== Stella ====== Stella is the leader of the Village of Trampoli. She runs the festivals and everyone in the village looks up to her. stella will be the first character you meet in your new home. ===== Kross ===== Yes he looks like he might murder some body hes cool (really I swear) if you want to expand your house come talk to this guy. He lives in the south district just north of Erik's place. ==== Lute ==== Lute is the resident peddaler of Trampoli he only appears on holidays in the town square and you can buy various items from him. An interesting note if you buy a painting from Lute he will give you a portrait of Raguna as a gift. ===== Kanno ===== Lives in the clock tower and moves in on the 7th of spring. Talk to him any time after that until he mentions his granddaughters and Cinnamon and Candy will then appear. He knows a lot about Runes and is a power magician. ====== Turner ====== Turner is the innkeeper and father of Eunice. He is a big drinker and can almost always be found in and around the sunshine and snowstyle. Hes a good guy and on the first boat race you take part in he volunteers to help you. Though his wife will then show up and beat him down. But thats life I guess. ==== Rita ==== Turners wife and damn the man did good for him self. Unlike Turner she can actually handle booze without becoming horribly hungover the next day. She also sells a lot of kitchen staples and like her husband can almost always be found in and around the sunshine and snowstlye. ============================== Section 2 Getting Started ========================= To some people this game is easy and to some it is hard. Having played all three of ones released and beaten all of them is not that hard. While these games are technically infinite as there are no 'true' ending as in there is nothing else to do. You can continue to play infinitly if you so choose. To get started in this game follow these simple instructions and you should get to the dungeon crawling and to get the rest of the villagers to come and stay in your town. Now you do not have to follow this order exaclty as the order is as efficient as I can get it to be from what I have seen and played of this game. While the ways I describe making money are my preferance you can do other things. If you want to grow crops I would strongly recommend that you grow Turnips, as they are cheap to buy and will net you a decent profit. ------- Step 1 Getting all the tools ---------------------- IF you are going to farm then you will need tools the first two tools the hoe and the watering can are given to you by Mist at the start of the game. As soon as you have the hoe start tilling the empty spaces on your field. There will be rocks and wood that you can not clear away at this point so don't worry about it. Stella will ask you to go see her and this will lead you on a mini tour of the business district and introduce you to the various townspeople who will be avalible at the start of the game. Go back to your field if you want to start planting you can do so, but for now you can get by just by harvesting everything in the field. Weeds, grass anything you find sell it. If you did not plant anything you should still till your field. Spend the first day tilling your field and picking up the various debrees. When you have exhuasted your Rune Points then go to sleep. Day Two fill your watering can with water and go to the Church District which is one screen right and one screen north of the Homestead. Take the watering can and proceed to the Clock Tower by the clock tower you should see a plant. Water it, than after the cut-scene climb up it. You will witness an event. Climb back down the vine and proceed to the Business District, it is time to get your self a piece of weaponry. There should be three choices of weapon avalible at this point in the game - a spear, a one handed sword and a two handed sword- I prefer to use the spear and it also has the highest attack out of the three. Anyways take the spear and return to Whale Island. Venture into the cave and eventually you should come across Melody. After the event congrats you now have the bath house and the hammer. Head back down and go to your house. Go to sleep. On the third day it is time to start making money you should have been cleaning your field, but if you did not then by all means go ahead and till what you can and pick up everything you can. Put it all in the bin and again if you want you can start planting crops. Personally I do not like crops and don't use them at all, I survived the game by fishing, and gathering. Till land and harvest. When it is convient for you go see Erik for the sickle and Stella for the axe. Stella will be in the church and Erick has to be inside his house. Just talk to them and eventually they should give them to you. Go to sleep now. Now you have the hoe, wattering can, a starting weapon, a sickle axe and hammer. When the clock tower opens talk to Kanno after he moves in when he is inside the clock tower and keep talking to him until he mentions his grand-daughters Cinnamon and Candy will then be residents of Trampoli, talk to Cinnamon and she will give you the Fishing Rod. Talk to Candy for the Harvester. Hammer- Melody in side of Whale Island Pole-Cinnamon after she moves in Harvester-Candy after she moves in Sickle-Erik Axe-Stella Hoe-Mist Wattering Can-Mist Weapons-Make them yourself or get them from Ganesha ------ Step 2 Getting the Villagers to Come ------------------------------ Refer to Section 1 People Places to find out how to get specific people to stay in your Village. ------ Step 3 What Next? ----------- Now that you have the tools and if you followed Section 1 you should have or be on the way to having all the Villagers in the game present and accounted for. It is hard to write a faq for this game due to the fact that you can completely abandon the story and go off and do what ever. Truthfully this guide was meant to include mostly charts about the various aspects of this game. As I do not want to give away to many spoliers in terms of event descriptions or dates as it sort of ruins the experience of Rune Factory Frontier. There are four dungeons in this game. Whale Island Green Ruins Lava Ruins Snow Ruins Whale Island and Green Ruins are both unlocked close to the start of the game. Lava and Snow are unlocked by beating the previous dungeons ie beat Green to get into Lava and beat Lava to get into snow. ========================================= Section 3 Runeys The Complete Explanation ========================================= Credit for this section goes to Kiariy, and foifoi2. Seriously its all them. Thank them because I did nothing in this section. ---------------- What are Runeys? ---------------- They are spirits that affect the growth of your crops. If runeys die out in an area your farm and dungeons will produce crops more slowly while if they reach 'prosperity' they will gain bonuses. They can be harvested with the harvester(obtainable from Candy) and then released into other areas or they can be used to make miracles or Rune Stones (these open certain doors) or to help your monsters procreate. -------------------------- How to Get Candy to Appear -------------------------- Follow the steps in Section 1 for getting Cinnamon, Candy will appera along with her. So basically get Cinammon and Candy will also appear. To get the Harvester talk to Candy about Runeys. ------------- The Runey Map ------------- The Runey map can be seen by talking to Candy or going to the second level of the clock tower, and looking at the machine that resembles a blue glass buble. This also works as a regular map. ------------------------ Rune Stones and Miracles ------------------------ Ask Candy to do it for you or go to the above mentioned machine and read the note next to it. You must have harvested some Runeys first though. ---------- Prosperity ---------- When an area has 35 or more of Runey it reaches prosperity and it's yellow/orange on the Runey Map. Your crops will gorw faster for each area of prosperity. Areas in prosperity don't behave like normal areas, water rock and tree Runeys will keep growing until they reach a maximum of 60. While no matter what the grass Runeys decrease by 2 each day except for the first 7 days in a month. Your Homested will still produce grass Runeys. If you let all the runeys in an area die off, that area willl produce crops at a slower rate. The aformentioned area will also be grey on the runey map. --------- Foodchain --------- Water eats Rock Rock eats Tree Tree eats Grass Nothing can eat Water and Grass eats nothing. This is null and void on the Homested. Ie the chain does not happen there. ----------------------------- Why Runeys Die If Left Alone ----------------------------- Runeys will die if left alone due to the following reasons. -Water Runeys keep multiplying (nothing eats them) -Water Runeys will eat most or all rock Runeys -Tree Runeys start multiplying because nothing eats them. -Water Runeys die because they have nothing to eat. -Tree Runeys start eating all of the grass runeys. ---------- Area Bonus ---------- When looking at the Runey Map each area has a symbol with the exception of the Homested. This appears to make the Runey corresponding with the symbol grow better/faster. Every 20th day you get a bonus of 2o Runeys this may screw up your balance so watch out for this. Homested- None Lake Poli- Water Mountain Road- Tree Public Square- Rock Business District- Rock South District- Grass Church District- Tree Beach Road- Grass Beach- Water ------------------ How to Help Runeys ------------------ Each 3x3 section of crops will add Runeys. Leaving unharvested crops even in dungeons counts. Fully grown crops do not need to be watered. The Runeys should be at the Homested and you use them as you see fit. ======= Weather ======= Rainy days will make water runeys prosper. ===================== Bonuses and Penalites ===================== Areas in prosperity make your crops grow faster. For exmaple, having 1 area in prosperity will make grass regrow every day instead of every 2 days. Areas with no runeys will make your crops grow slowly and they might wither and die. Bonuses for having areas in prosperity and penalties for having no runeys in an area are only effective during the next day. You can have an area in prosperity for a while then take some runeys so it won't be in prosperity during that same day and it'll be as if it was never in prosperity. ================================ How to get areas into Prosperity ================================ The proccess is kind of slow and will take a lot of your time. Here's a guideline. - Homestead will keep producing runeys, get it into prosperity (by using runeys from other areas if needed), leave some fodder there and in dunegons without cutting it and use the extra runeys to balance other areas, speacilly grass runeys. - Make a grass factory if you have a lot of water runeys and need grass ones and keep it running. - Even with a small amount of runeys, an area should be able to survive for a while so you can take runeys from other areas as well. For example, I had an area with nothing but 7 tree runeys, the next day it had 5... as you can see that's not too bad as it's still counted as alive - Concentrate in one area at a time and try to get them into prosperity. 40:45:45:45 works for example (water:rock:tree:grass), remember that grass will keep dieing. - Keep grass runeys above 35 in prosperity areas, remember that 2 are taken each day. - You can take water, rock and grass runeys from areas in prosperity since they'll "grow" back. Keep doing this, slowly getting areas into prosperity. I have 5 right now and I've been doing this during Summer and part of fall and I haven't really spent all days doing it. =============================== How to keep Areas in Prosperity =============================== Areas in prosperity loose 2 grass runeys every day but they keep producing the other 3. In order to keep it in prosperity you need to keep adding grass runeys and there's 2 options for this: - Getting grass runeys from a grass factory (and a few from Homestead): This is easier, keep a grass factory running, you should be getting 16-20 grass runeys every day. In order to keep it running you just need to use water runeys from your areas in prosperity. This might seem like it takes a lot of time, but it doesn't. You don't need to distribute the grass runeys every day, just do it on Holidays. The next Holiday there should be 12 less grass runeys for each area in prosperity but Homestead. - Gettin grass runeys from Homestead: For this you would need quite a few crops ready to harvest so your Homestead can produce enough. Remember that you need to produce 2 per day for each area that is in prosperity. By doing this you could get all areas into prosperity though. ================ Section 4 Events ================ This section will deal with the story events. I will go through a games worth of events. I will first talk about the Festivals, then story events, please note for a detailed walkthrough on the dungeons look to the dungeon section (section 5). I will then cover non marriage events and then lastly marriage events. So without further adue lets get this going. --------- Festivals --------- First of all a couple little hints. If Erik is against you in any competition particulary the boat race RELOAD because he will rape you badly. Also every one in the village will usually show up for the festivals so its a good time to mass gift people. ++++++++++++++++ Foliage Festival ++++++++++++++++ Date-Spring 29 Description-The entire town will turn out to give flowers or to talk about how they are not following the tradition. What this means for you-Giving flowers is a good idea. Everyone will accept flowers even Biance. The following villagers will give you flowers -Lara -Rita -Tabitha -Eunice -Stella -Ganesha -Rosetta The above will give you either Toy Herbs or Moondrops (these can be re-gifted) Rosetta will give you some red grass. +++++++++++++ Beach Opening +++++++++++++ Date-Summer 1 Description-The beaches are open yay the people will take a day off and all the girls will hang out at the beach. Note- Lara, Uzuki and Eunice and rarely there Bianca and Tabitha will show up on thier second year in town. What this means for you- There are several things you can do during this festival. You have to use the changing room to get into your swim trunks and if you go at the right time (9 to 10 am) you can get a small scene. You can repeat the scene for all the girls present. Talk to Rosetta to play the watermelon pinata game. She will explain the rules, buts its pretty easy and all the girls will get a nice Love Point boost if you win. You can save and reset if you want different girls to participate. ================== Section 6 Bestiary ================== This whole Section is courtesy of MasterPengu1 who has all this information in his own faq which will prbably be updated a lot more frequently than this section will. Because to tell the truth once I got confirmation to use this information I sort of dropped by own Bestiary work in favour of working on schedules and other aspects which are still in development. Again I have to thank MasterPingu1 for this info and give all the credit associated with it to him. ------ Ant (Crop Harvest) 4 / 41 / 10 / 11 / 6 2 / 120 / 21 / 11 / 11 Whale Island - Cave Surface, Green Cave B1F, Lava Ruins B1F Insect Jaw (1, 20%), Insect Hide (1, 20%) ------ Arch Daemon (Nothing) 9 / 737 / 238 / 263 / 284 89 / 1425 / 303 / 360 / 299 Snow Ruins B6F Solid Point (10, 20%), Hard Horn (10, 10%), Demon Blood (10, 10%) ------ Autumn (collect seeds) 6 / 393 / 126 / 124 / 161 46 / 780 / 160 / 164 / 167 Snow Ruins B1F Root (10, 20%), Magic Powder (10, 20%) ------ Beetle (Rock Clearing) 5 / 321 / 103 / 123 / 106 37 / 645 / 132 / 162 / 111 Whale Island - Tail Tree Hard Horn (6, 20%), Insect Jaw (5, 10%), Insect Hide (10, 10%) ------ Big Muck (collect Grass/Jewel) 4 / 106 / 27 / 31 / 28 9 / 247 / 41 / 38 / 33 Green Ruins B2F Mushroom (1, 20%), Root (2, 10%), Magic Powder (2, 10%) ------ Blackbird (Woodcutting) 7 / 555 / 219 / 219 / 236 74 / 1080 / 272 / 291 / 241 Whale Island - Floating Chamber Bird Feather (10, 25%), Sharp Talon (10, 10%), Wind Crystal (1, 5%) ------ Blood Panther (Crop Harvest) 7 / 461 / 205 / 205 / 242 69 / 900 / 255 / 272 / 248 Whale Island - Tower of Glory, Snow Ruins B4F Magic Talon (3, 10%), Fair Hide (7, 10%), Sharp Fang (10, 10%), Sharp Talon (10, 10%) ------ Buffaloo (Mount) 5 / 366 / 107 / 117 / 67 35 / 738 / 132 / 146 / 63 Lava Ruins B4F Monster Hide (10, 25%), Hard Horn (6, 15%) ------ Buffamoo (collect Milk) 4 / 174 / 46 / 53 / 33 15 / 378 / 64 / 67 / 37 Whale Island - Fin, Green Ruins B3F Monster Hide (1, 25%), Hard Horn (2, 15%) ------ Buffazoo (collect Milk) 6 / 702 / 189 / 228 / 156 70 / 1368 / 235 / 303 / 160 Whale Island - Floating Chamber, Snow Ruins B4F Quality Fur (7, 25%), Hard Horn (10, 15%) ------ Chitter (Plant Harvest) 4 / 29 / 9 / 8 / 3 1 / 94 / 21 / 7 / 8 Green Ruins B1F Sharp Fang (1, 15%), Monster Hide (1, 15%), Sharp Talon (1, 10%) ------ Clucky (collect Egg) 4 / 116 / 40 / 42 / 45 13 / 256 / 58 / 53 / 51 Green Ruins B3F Sharp Talon (1, 20%), Bird Feather (3, 20%) ------ Cone (Nothing) 10 / 753 / 194 / 268 / 349 91 / 1455 / 218 / 335 / 333 Whale Island - Tower of Glory Garden Fair Hide (10, 10%), Teardrop (10, 10%), Bird Feather (10, 10%), Hard Horn (10, 10%) ------ Daemon (Nothing) 8 / 481 / 155 / 170 / 182 57 / 945 / 206 / 237 / 199 Snow ruins B2F and B3F Solid Point (6, 20%), Demon Blood (5, 10%), Hard Horn (10, 10%) ------ Dark Slime (Rock Clearing) 5 / 344 / 100 / 98 / 115 36 / 693 / 129 / 129 / 120 Lava Ruins B5F Teardrop (6, 18%), Toxin (2, 10%), Scrap Iron (1, 6%), White Grass (1, 1%), Black Grass (1, 1%), Fire Crystal (1, 1%), Water Crystal (1, 1%), Wind Crystal (1, 1%), Earth Crystal (1, 1%) *** Don't get your hopes up from seeing that drop list!
