The first Mega Man game I can remember playing is Mega Man 2 on the NES. The first Robot Master I can remember fighting is Wood Man, which makes him one of my favorite Robot Masters. Mega Man has always been my favorite video game icon since I was a kid. I own every American released Classic Mega Man and Mega Man X game. I don't really play the other series' though. ============================================================================== --------------------------------About This FAQ-------------------------------- ============================================================================== I decided to write this FAQ for anyone who hasn't been into Mega Man for very long and wants to better themselfs at fighting the Robot Masters with only the Mega Buster. I hope this guide helps you! I have covered all the Robot Master Battles from Mega Man's 1 - 10, Mega Man & Bass. I am hoping they keep up the pace of making 1 new classic each year, I also want them to be in 8-Bit. ------Concrete Man------ Difficulty: 6/10 Concrete Shot-- 4 Collision------ 5 Concrete Man has 3 attacks to look out for. The first one being his Concrete Shot attack, which he will fire 3 blobs of concrete at you, if they hit you you will be stoned temporarly, if they miss, they will form blocks on the floor that you can jump on, the easiest way to avoid this is to try and stay away from Concrete Man and you should just have to run the other way, or run under them if you are close to him. If he starts out the fight with Concrete Shot, then jump up and try to dodge the blobs and land on them as you come down. The second attack that he does is charge at you, just jump over him to avoid it, and the third attack he will do is jump into the air and land on the gorund, try to stay on whatever side of him has to most room to avoid him with and jump right before he lands to avoid being stunned by the room shaking. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Concrete Man's Fight is from 0:01 - 0:38 ------Jewel Man------ Difficulty: 6/10 Jewel Satellite-- 4 Collision-------- 4 If you are good enough at precision shooting then you can get some hits in on Jewel Man when he has his Jewel Satellite up. Even if you hit the shield, it will knock pieces of it off. You control Jewel Man's Jumping, everytime you jump, he jumps. Remember this and he should become quite easy. Basically he will put on the Jewel Satellite and then run to one side of the room and back and then shoot off all the remaining piece of it off at you, so try to shoot off at least 2 pieces of it before he fires it off to make avoiding it easier. Once he has shot the remaining pieces at you, he will run to the other side of the room and when he gets there he will put a fresh shield on. Just repeate, and remember you control his jumping, so try to shoot off his shield and jump over the piece you shot off and run under him all in one jump. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Jewel Man's Fight is from 0:39 - 1:37 ------Hornet Man------ Difficulty: 5/10 Hornets---- 4 Collision-- 4 Hornet Man, I personally find to be one of the funnest Robot Masters to Duel with the Mega Buster in the entire Classic Series. Bascially at the start of the fight he will hover in the air and release 3 hornets, as he hovers into the air, jump onto the platform in the center and jump and shoot 2 shots to kill the hornet in the center, then do a small hop and shoot 2 shots again to kill the one on the bottom and then finally do another big jump and fire 2 shots to kill the one that was on the top. Now Hornet Man should be back on the ground and he will run to the other side, jump over him as he is running to the other side, and now he will repeate the same attacks, just repeate everything you just did and he will once again run to the side he began on and start all over, just keep up the same strategy and he will be done soon. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Hornet Man's Fight is from 1:38 - 2:11 ------Plug Man------ Difficulty: 7/10 Plug Ball-- 5 Collision-- 4 Plug Man is one of the more unpredictable Robot Masters in the Classic Series. Most of the time at the beginning of the fight he will bunny hop 3 times and then stop and do a large jump towards you, firing a plug ball as he comes down Not all the time will be bunny hop at the start though, sometimes he will jump across the room and land by you, so at the start of the fight, run and jump onto the left part of the triangular type platform on the left and judge what to do next based on what he is going to do, if he large hops, try to jump over the platform you were on and go under him. If he bunny hops, shoot him and then prepare to run under him when he gets done. To avoid his Plug Balls, they will follow the floor first, so jump over them and try to stay in place and then run out from under when they meet up with your position on the ceiling because they will try to fall down and get you. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Concrete Man's Fight is from 2:12 - 2:48 ------Splash Woman------ Difficulty: 4/10 Fish----------- 3 Laser Trident-- 6 Collision------ 4 Splash Woman is very special in the fact that she is the first and, so far, only female Robot Master in the Classic Series. Even though she is special she still goes down really quick because she takes 2 damage per shot, thus ending her after being shot 14 times. At the start of the fight, she will sing and float up to the top of the screen, get some hits in on her at the start when she starts singing and jump to avoid the fish she summoned, try to manuever around the second ground that comes while still shooting her, the third group should just go over you. Now, try to get away from where Splash Woman is at, because she will swim towards you and try to hit you with her Trident. Try to lure her towards a wall and then run under her after a blast from her trident is fired off, then lead her towards to other wall and repeate. After 6 Laser Trident Shots, she will come down and be open to attack for a second, unload on her at that time. Now she will repeate, and thus, so should you. NOTE: You Can Kill the Fish She Summons if you need to! Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Splash Woman's Fight is from 2:49 - 3:27 ------Magma Man------ Difficulty: 6/10 Magma Bazooka-- 4 Collision------ 4 Magma Man is one of the more unpredictable Robot Masters. What you will want to do is lure him down to the middle of the room, then keep going under him and hitting him once he lands, this will let you avoid his Magma Bazooka shots and avoid collision damage at the same time. At the start you will probably have to avoid one or two Magma Bazookas, but they aren't too hard to avoid. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Magma Man's Fight is from 3:28 - 3:59 ------Galaxy Man------ Difficulty: 3/10 Black Hole Bomb-- 4 Collision-------- 4 Galaxy Man is one of the easier Robot Masters to Mega Buster fight. At the start of the fight most of the time he will go to the top of the room and shoot a Black Hole Bomb, which will follow you around, run at it for a second then turn around and run the other way for a second and keep doing that until the Black Hole Bomb Detonates, now it should be trying to pull you towards Galaxy Man, just run away and try to get in a couple hits during this time. The only other attack he has is to charge at you while he is on the ground just jump over him to avoid it. Sometimes he will charge at you again so be ready. Most of the time though, he spends shooting Black Hole Bombs, so not much to worry about. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Galaxy Man's Fight is from 4:00 - 4:55 ------Tornado Man------ Difficulty: 6/10 Tornado Blow-- 4 Collision----- 4 Tornado Man, despite only taking 1 damage per shot can go down quick most of the time, because he is stationary for longer peroids of time than most Robot Masters. Most of the time at the start of the fight he will stand and use his Tornado Blow attack, just get some quick hits in on him until you see the Tornados, then jump and try to manuever past them or between them, next he usually flys into the air and does the same thing again, just wait until he uses it and use the boost to your jump to get some hits in on him while he is in the air. After the attack is done while he is in the air, he should try to land on you, sometimes he will just fly up a little bit and then charge at you trying to land on you. But most of the time he will be open because of his Tornado Blow attack. Just be sure not to jump so high you hit the spikes in the ceiling. Video Link... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mgfe_f8jk8 Tornado Man's Fight is from 4:56 - 5:34 ============================================================================== --------------------------------BONUS BATTLE!--------------------------------- ============================================================================== Here we will cover some Extra Robot's that I always considered 9th Robot Masters. Basically it's just Mega Man, Dark Man, and Fake Man. To See the strategy's for Mega Man and/or Dark Man then check out my guide on the Mega Man 1 or Mega Man 5 FAQ Page. ------Fake Man------ Difficulty: 5/10 Buster Shot-- 4 Collision---- 4 Fake Man may seem hard, but once you learn his pattern he becomes really easy and predictable. When the fight starts, jump and shoot at him, he should jump back and fire 2 shots, do a small hop over the bottom shot and now he should jump to the other side of the room, firing off 2 shots at you, jump over the first and run away from him and jump to avoid the second one, when he lands he will fire off two shots, jump over them and repeate. He is a Fast Robot Master but once you have him down he becomes easy.
