Introduction (Intro2) ----------------------- Hello, and welcome to my Mega Man 9 Walkthrough. If you're here, chances are you're either having trouble or you're just here to laugh at me. Either or. I'm Matt, and my first Mega Man game was Mega Man X. I played it obsessively, and this is where it got me. This is my first walkthrough, and it will probably fail. I have no doubt it will fail. You will probably read this in disgust and walk away. But who really reads the introduction anyways? Oh, and to those who do read the introduction, I have a habit of saying Megaman instead of Mega Man. Sorry about that. Same with Protoman. ============================================================================== ----------------------- 2. General Info (Info2) ----------------------- Yeah, it's the classic Mega Man series. Wily tries to take over the world, you have to stop him. Have fun with that. Controls: Hold the Wii-Mote sideways the Arrows are used to move 1 is shoot 2 is jump + brings up the pause menu/weapon select screen - brings up the challenge screen A+B do nothing, I think... If you're playing as Protoman hold 1 to charge your buster, and down+2 is slide You have 28 bars of health, each time you're hit you lose health, and you can regain health by getting health pick-ups, the little yellowish circles. Every time you use a weapon that isn't the buster, you use some energy, which can be restored by another pick-up, which is the same color as the character you are using. As a note, Protoman takes double damage, as does Megaman without a helmet. You have a certain number of lives, and when you run out, you get a game over. You can get extra lives a couple of ways to be described later. ============================================================================== --------------------- 3. Boss Chart (Boss2) --------------------- So yeah, each boss has a weakness, and each boss gives you a new weapon. Galaxy Man (Black Hole Bomb) > Jewel Man Jewel Man (Jewel Satellite) > Plug Man Plug Man (Plug Ball) > Tornado Man Tornado Man (Tornado Blow) > Magma Man Magma Man (Magma Shot) > Hornet Man Hornet Man (Hornet Chaser) > Splash Woman Splash Woman (Splash Trident) > Concrete Man Concrete Man (Concrete Shot) > Galaxy Man As a side note, Splash Woman takes more damage from the buster than any other boss, taking two bars of health instead of 1. This is also my recommended order, although you can start from anywhere. Splash Woman is also a good place to start because of the damage difference. ============================================================================== ----------------------- 4. Galaxy Man (Galaxy2) ----------------------- And now we come to our first stage. Since Protoman just came out (at the time I started this guide at least), I'll be making some comments about how he makes it easier or harder at certain parts. I also will not comment on how to get certain screws that are on the overworld because honestly, I'm playing as Protoman and don't care about screws. Except for that small screw on Galaxy Man's stage, I wrote that before I wrote this part. I'll be rating the stage on how hard it is at the start of each level out of 10 stars. Ten being the hardest and one being so easy I could do it blindfolded. ------------ Rating: 5/10 ------------ So yeah, if you're playing as Protoman and are using my recommended order, this is the first time you get to here that awesome whistle. Galaxy's Man is pretty awesome too. So start going to the right, shooting down or dodging the UFOs that come out. Kill the Metool and grab the screw, drop down being cautious not to fall in the spikes, and kill that Metool. Keep going, evantually jumping on the ladder and falling off onto the land on the right. Keep going... and going... and going... when you get the shiny purple things, jump in them and watch what happens. Grab onto the ladder, climb up and go the right and get grabbed by that thing. This is telling you what's about to happen. When you jump over those spikes on the right, one of those will probably grab you and start dragging you to the right, just keep holding right and jumping over the spikes. Get ready for another one to grab you. You can try edging to the right and quickly moving back to dodge the thing from grabbing you, but it's your choice. After those two small spike pits, another one will grab you. Just keep holding left. Hold left until you land on the ground next to those spikes. Climb, own, and when you drop down, get ready to hold right, there's more spikes. Soon you will come to some more purple warp thingies. It goes like this: (1 leads to 1, 2 leads to 2) 1 | Megaman | ------- | 2 1 2 ------- My fail diagram fails to show this, but the far right warp is directly above the floor, and you have to hold left just after you come out, and when you're falling back, you have to hold right to get onto the floor. Afterwards, meet the blobs. When you kill a big green one, it will split into 3 small blobs. If you kill a yellow one, it splits into 4. Keep going, and use the R/P Coil to snag that life. Keep going, keep going, and you'll evantually see another one of those things that grab you, if you hold right, you'll dodge it. When you get onto the floor above you, just edge towards where it was and quickly run back when you see it come down. Then just walk forward. Keep going, if you try to grab the energy/life another one of those grabby things will try to grab you. Come up to another set of purple warps, this time with UFOs flying around: Megaman ------- 1 Boss Doors 4 ----- 1 2 3 2 4 3 Enter the boss doors and prepare yourself! For one of the easiest bosses in the game! ------------------------ Wild Galaxy Man Appears! ------------------------ Difficulty (Buster): 3.5/10 Difficulty (Concrete Shot): 1.1/10 Difficulty (Protoman): lol/10 Attacks: 1.He flies around really high. He can't really hit you here. 2.He drops down on top of you, really easy to dodge, just move. 3.He flies to the left or right, he'll do a little pose when he's on the ground signaling he's about to go. He rises as he moves to the side. Jump over him. 4. He sends down a Black Hole Bomb, it will try to suck you towards it, then Galaxy Man will teleport below the Bomb. Run away. Strategy: First of all, once you learn how to dodge his attacks he's ridiculously easy. He'll always drop down after he finishes uses the Black Hole Bomb. With Megman, just shoot away whenever he drops down. If you're far enough away, you can turn and shoot and then turn back, but it's not that important. With Protoman, just laugh at this ridiculously easy boss. Keep a charge shot ready for whenever he drops down or uses the Bomb. When he uses the Black Hole Bomb, slide away, turn turn around and shoot. He'll die soon enough. You got the Black Hole Bomb! (See Weapons section for more details) ============================================================================= --------------------- 5. Jewel Man (Jewel2) --------------------- ---------------- Rating: 7/10 ---------------- I hate minibosses. I also make stupid mistakes when I have no lives left. Bleh. Jewel Man's stage is annoying for two reasons. The drop-down spiders and the miniboss. Neither of which are very annoying with some practice, but if you're here, you probably haven't practiced that much. Start the stage, run around, and you'll notice a green thing falling down. When it hits the ground, it'll start spinning and fly in you're direction. I believe Protoman is the only one of the two that can kill these with the buster, since I think he shoots a tad lower. Just a bit. Otherwise jump it. Come up to the cannons. Stand directly underneath it. Well, as underneath as you can that is. After it shoots, jump up and shoot it. Repeat. Protoman can block its shots with his shield, but meh. The rock cart things are annoying too. Once you reach the end of this part, if you're using Protoman start charging a shot all the way. Jump down facing left and when you start the screen transition let go of the shoot button. If done correctly, it'll kill the spiders at the top of the screen. Drop down and kill the spider below, keep going. To kill the spider on the ceiling here, just jump and use the buster. Kill the spider below and keep going. Now we come to the swinging platforms. Run to the right and it moves right, run left and it moves left. It's all momentum, run to the right, and at the peak run left, then right and you'll go higher. Rinse and Repeat. At the end there's a wall of spikes. Just try not to die jumping into them. Enter the doors, and meet the miniboss. MINIBOSS: Rock thingy of doom. I hate this guy. More than I hate some bosses actually. Rocks will drop from the ceiling, run away from them. Pay attention to the ceiling, and a face will appear. When that rock falls, jump before it lands to avoid getting stunned. Protoman likes this boss more than Megaman because he can charge up and slide under the rocks as they fall, then pound on him. Megaman needs a bit more skill to dodge the rocks. I find that standing below the crack in the rocks above you makes it a little bit easier to dodge them when they fall. A few rounds of this and the miniboss will fall. So, hop down the pit, and meet the little jewel things. They'll shoot at you. Kill them when they open up. Jump up, down the pit, and kill the little cart dude. Walk up to the pit but don't jump. A green thing will pop up. Try and kill it, then jump over. Kill another cart, and run to the next pit. More green things. Keep going, and get to the swinging platform. If you're Protoman, this is easy. Get full momentum to the right and slide off CAREFULLY. Megaman has it a little tougher, I'd say half momentum then jump off. If you have the Hornet Chaser, snag those items down there. Keep going, killing things until you reach a swinging platform with a lot of spikes around it. Swing it in one direction some and then jump the opposite direction and down the hole. Keep going to the right, just keep going, killing everything you see. Until evantually you reach the boss doors! ------------------------------- Hiker Jewel Man wants to fight! ------------------------------- Difficulty (Black Hole Bomb): 3/10 Difficulty (Buster): 6/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 7/10 Get Black Hole Bomb. It makes this fight a joke. Attacks: 1. Spawn some jewels which will rotate around him. 2. Run around. 3. Shoot Jewels at you. 4. Jump IMPORTANT NOTE: The moment you hit the jump button, Jewel Man will jump. This is useful knowledge, since you decide when he jumps. To dodge him, just lightly tap the jump button whenever he gets to close, he'll jump right over you. Strategy: Black Hole Bomb sucks away his Jewels and does massive damage. Use it if you have it. Megaman has a slightly easier time than Protoman in my opinion, just because he takes half the damage Protoman does. Constantly shoot Jewel Man, even though the shots bounce off, his Jewels will fire early, and they're much easier to dodge when they are solo shots instead of coming in pairs. You got the Jewel Satellite! ============================================================================= ------------------- 6. Plug Man (Plug2) ------------------- If you want to make the game easier, here it is. ------------ Rating: 6/10 ------------ So yeah, Plug Man's stage. If you're playing as Megaman and are not doing a run where you need to go as fast as you can, this place is awesome. Go to the right and see the little guys coming out of the pipes. If you stand underneath this and use the Jewel Satellite you'll kill every one of those things that come out, meaning free lives/screws. Just walk away from the TV for a while and evantually you'll be rich. Oh well though, keep going right. You can kill those electric balls with the Jewel Satellite, but you probably want to save that for later. Just jump when it gets too close to you. Keep jumping until you reach the end. Climb the ladder. Dodge the little spark things. Keep going. Kill the Metools and the cannon. Now walk up to the vanishing blocks. If you've played a Mega Man game before this and have seen these and hate them, start crying now. But rejoice! This is much easier than some of the other vanishing block puzzles. At least in my experience. Stand on the first block and just keep jumping from block to block. Not hard. If you happen to be playing as Protoman, you can just fly over the first one, which gives you the added bonus of not having to deal with that Metool. I think it's just me, but I hate that thing. Always knocks me in the spikes. Megaman isn't completely owned by it, so just kill it and move on. Next set is a little harder. Don't jump on the up and down platform. Just stand on the block to the left of it until it vanishes. You'll fall down onto another platform. From there, it's pretty easy to get to the other side. Now, here you have two choices. You can take the vanishing blocks path and snag a life, or you can walk along the bottom path and get... nothing. To take the top path, you have to be careful on the timing to get to the third block. If you jump too early, you'll miss, and if you jump too late... you won't jump at all. You'll just fall. So don't. After that it's not too hard. Snag the life on the way down and fall down the hole. As you walk to the left a shadow Megaman/Protoman will appear. Dodge/kill them (there annoying to kill though) and go down the hole on the left. If you drop down one platform, a shadow dude will appear, so just wait until the block appears to jump there. More timing fun on the third block again. You'll also have to get the timing down so that you jump up before the block above you appears. I remember this was the hardest thing about Mega Man 2 for me, so practice a lot. Jump to the platform with the two sparks and follow the vanishing blocks some more. Jump onto another platform with a spark and get ready to keep going. Soon after this you will encounter a spot where there is a wall in front of you. Wait for the block you're on to dissappear and just drop down, holding right a little bit. Run across to the far right block after the middle block appears and jump to next block. From there, you can jump to safety, or wait a moment and jump to the block that will appear on your left. It appears as the one you're on vanishes, so be prepared. After that, make sure to jump straight up before it's too late. Hope over to the E-Tank, grab it an run. A shadow will appear. Drop down, another shadow. Grab the energy and life and go back and jump up to the top path. Do not take the bottom path. It's just spikes. More shadows and more pipes that enemies appear from. Just keep killing stuff and moving on. You'll see another life at the top of the screen. Jump up the two vanishing blocks and up to the blocks that will appear above you. Get over to the life, wait for the threesome to appear, and jump to the ladder. Climb the ladder, dodge the sparks, run right and kill/dodge the hopping robot, and go through the doors! --------------------------------- Engineer Plug Man wants to fight! --------------------------------- Difficulty (Jewel Satellite): 5/10 Difficulty (Buster): Difficulty (Protoman: Jewel Shield is happiness. A full bar of it is needed to kill him though. Attacks: 1. Jump around 2. Fire plug balls. They go along the ground, up the wall, and on the ceiling. When they're on the ceiling, they'll drop down when they're above you. NOTE: Protoman's shield can block the plug balls, but I haven't found it that useful. Yet. Strategy: First off, note the odd shape of Plug Man's room. This makes it increasingly annoying to dodge him when he jumps. It also makes Protoman's slide pretty pointless. With Jewel Satellite, it will block his plug balls, and you can just run into him with it or fire it to damage him. Don't miss though, I'm 90% sure it takes a full bar of it to kill him. That's not that hard. With the buster though, this fight gets annoying. Plug Man has no real pattern, which is the hardest part of this fight. His plug balls also murder Protoman. It's painful. Three to four is all it takes before Protoman bites the dust. You can jump over Plug Man, but it can be difficult to do. Plug Ball get! ============================================================================== ------------------------- 7. Tornado Man (Tornado2) ------------------------- I hate this level. It's what kept me from starting this guide for a while. ------------ Rating: 7/10 ------------ Welcome to Tornado Man's stage. This can be easy or hard, depending on how much you're better than me by. Climb the ladders, kill the balloon, climb, kill the Metools, and jump on the weird red and blue thing. You'll start rotating on it going up and down. What I like to do with these is to wait until I'm on top of the magnet and start doing little bunny hops so I stay on the top. It's not really necessary though. Climb the ladder, kill the balloon, and get to the next set of magnets. This time it's actually hard. You can probably Rush/Proto Jet across this, but that would be too easy, now wouldn't it? You will have to bunny hop on top of the magnets a little bit, depending on your timing. I can't really give sufficient advice on how to do it well. Just get through to the platform. From here, drop down, get on the last magnet, and make sure you drop down when you get to the end. You can jump over the spikes, but I find it easier just to drop down It's all choice. Keep going, snag the energy if you need it and drop down the hole. You've now reached the ice portion of the level. I'm not exactly sure why there's an ice portion of the level, but oh well. It's very slippery, but if you jump you'll stop completely. Drop down once the little shield dude turns around and kill it from behind. Drop down the hole. Avoid the shield thing while dropping down, kill it when it turns around, kill the other, move on. Grab that wonderful energy, and move on. Kill the guard dude and move on. Kill the Metool and another guard dude, move on. You've now reached the rain portion of the level. Whenever you jump, you'll be slightly pushed in the same direction the rain is falling in. Here you'll be pushed backwards, so you have to be extra careful with your jumps. Make it over the spikes and jump on the small block. Walk forward, falling onto the cloud. Yes, fall on the cloud. You'll be standing on it, get on the next block, and jump from block to block. When you get to the wider platform, drop on the cloud before jumping to the next block. Keep going until you reach the raining magnet portion. You can't do my little bunny hop thing here without being pushed back off the magnet and into the abyss, so don't. Luckily this part isn't very long, only 3 or 4 magnets. Drop down the hole, and notice the rain has been reversed. You're now jumping with the rain, so it'll give you a slight boost. You can Rush/Proto Coil up to the high platform, then jump to snag the life. There are no more magnets, so just be careful not to be caught offguard by the falling umbrellas and hop to the end of the level. --------------------------------------- Bird Keeper Tornado Man wants to fight! --------------------------------------- Difficulty (Plug Ball): 4/10 Difficulty (Buster): 6.5/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 6/10 Probably the only feasible use for the Plug Ball. Hooray! Attacks: 1. Jump Around 2. Float in the air 3. Call up tornadoes Strategy: Whenever Tornado Man calls up his tornadoes, you will jump higher, so try not to jump into the spikes. Plug Ball destroys the tornadoes, as well as Tornado Man himself. Use it. It can be hard to do so without getting hit, but if he's on the ground or especially close to the ceiling, it works extremely well. It's actually not too hard to beat him with the buster. Especially with Protoman, who can slide away from the tornadoes. Just shoot, dodge, shoot, dodge. It's not that hard with a little bit of practice. Tornado Man's pattern isn't very clear, but it's still a pretty easy fight with a little bit of practice. Player obtained Tornado Blow! ============================================================================== --------------------- 8. Magma Man (Magma2) --------------------- Lava Beams fail hard. ------------------------- Rating: 5/10 Rating with C. Shot: 3/10 ------------------------- Welcome to Magma Man's stage, home of the annoying Lava beams! First off, jump across the lava, and a weird flying dude should come down and shoot fire at you. You can't kill him from the front, but you can jump over him before he shoots fire. Or you can wait for him to stop, after which he'll fly away. Keep going forward, dodging the occasional one of these. After killing/dodging the last two of these, drop down past the lava, and hop up on top of the pillar. Edge to the right, jump as far right as you can, and hold up to grab the ladder. You'll just barely make it. Climb the ladder. Some pillars will shoot up from the ground. Just kill them. Dodge/kill the next two shield fire things, and watch the Lava beams fall down. This part isn't too hard, it's when you see these later in the game that you'll hate lava beams. You can see they're charging when the arrow starts flashing. Just go between the beams, jumping, etc. Be sure to make the jumps all the way. You can freeze the lava beams with Concrete Shot if you have it. Dodge the occasional fire shooter, and drop down the hole at the end. Keep going until you meet the miniboss. MINIBOSS: Fire Dragon thing Yeah, it's not that hard, it shoots fire, and a flame will shoot out of that flame coming towards you. Jump over it. Black Hole Bomb and Tornado Blow both get rid of the flames on his back so he can't shoot, but save Tornado Blow for the boss. Keep going, killing pillars and the things going along the ground. Take the top path to snag a life, and then drop down. You cannot make this jump, at least in my experience. Just get hit and run across or use the Concrete Shot/Jet to get across. Dodge the beam, climb the ladder, and get ready for some more beams. These still aren't that hard, just stand between them. You will see a nice little energy thing after the first set of beams. You can freeze the beam when it starts to get down to get across using Concrete Shot, but I think that's the only way you can get out of there alive. I think. After that, just dodge the little guys and get through the boss doors. -------------------------------------- Firebreather Magma Man wants to fight! -------------------------------------- Difficulty (Tornado Blow): 3/10 Difficulty (Buster): Difficulty (Protoman): Attacks: 1. Jump around and shoot flames at the same time 2. The flames come out in threes, like a Metool shot only faster, and it stays on the screen. 3. Re-ignite his fire if you blow it out. Strategy: Tornado Blow pl0x. It can kill him, but usually you'll need to hit him a couple times after the final use of Tornado Blow. Tornado Blow blows out the flame on his head, making the flames he shoot smaller. He'll try to ignite that fire, so shoot him normally when he does. Also note that if you use Tornado Blow while he shoots, his flames will fly up off the top of the screen. Handy. Take your Magma Shot and run for it. ============================================================================== ----------------------- 9. Hornet Man (Hornet2) ----------------------- I hate Minibosses. ------------ Rating: 5/10 ------------ Go to the right, killing the plants and mine cart dudes. Climb the ladder and notice the thing in the middle of the room. If you shoot it, it'll extend. After a few seconds it will coil back all the way, before extending to how it is now. So get on, shoot, and run to the ladder. Once up, go right and kill the scissors, they'll come at different angles, combine then come from behind you. Carefully jump forward, making sure not to jump into the spikes. Once you see a weird machine on the right side, shoot it. It'll shoot at you. If you stand on the blocks and dodge the shot, it'll break the blocks. Do so. Repeat several times. If you're on the screen with two cannons, try and get to the far left spot. As you fall from there, face left and mash the shoot button. You'll hitt he cannon, and if done correctly, the shot will break the floor, allowing you to access the life. If not just use a weapon to hit the cannon. Go to the next screen, drop down without dying, and get ready for a miniboss! MINIBOSS: Plant I don't know what else to call it. There are 8 platforms. There are spikes below: \ ___ ___ \ ___ ___ \ ___ ___ ___ ___ ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Spikes- Ohhhh, scary! Like a clock, there is a "hand" in the middle rotating around the entire field. Every now and then, a plant will pop up from one of the platforms and fire its petals at you. Dodge and shoot. I hated this thing, I absolutely could not kill it. I really hope you don't have as much trouble as I did. After that, just keep going forward for more of those extendable platforms. Dodge the scissors and make your way to the end. Drop down, and evantually you will reach 3 plants. If you're low on health, equip the Jewel Satellite and sit back a second, stand right below and to the left of the leftmost plant, two flowers will hit the shield and you'll snag some pick-ups. Once you're all good to go, move forward and once you reach the boss doors, climb the ladder and snag the life. Back to the boss doors! --------------------------------------- Bug Catcher Hornet Man wants to fight! --------------------------------------- Difficulty (Magma Shot): 3.5/10 Difficulty (Buster): Difficulty (Protoman): Attacks: 1. Run around the room. 2. At each end of the room he'll jump up. 3. When he jumps he'll fire 3 homing bees. You can destroy these. Strategy: Magma Shot owns this guy. You can use it to kill his bees, and then just rape his face off with fire. Stand on the middle section and jump up when he comes close. With the buster, it takes two shots to kill the bees. Bleck. Get equipped with Hornet Chaser! ============================================================================== -------------------------- 10. Splash Woman (Splash2) -------------------------- Wooooo. The first female robot master. I lurve this stage. ------------ Rating: 4/10 ------------ I lurve this music. I also love the little octopus things that turn you black. NINJA PROTOMAN. Seriously though, try it some time. As for the level, go forward doding the spike balls. They'll explode evantually. Drop down, kill the octopi (is it this?) when they pop up, and keep going. Before you drop down the whole, know this. If you go straight down, you will die on spikes. Go as far left as possible and hold left as you fall. You'll land either on or right next to a life. If you took the right path, you can jump up in the small gap between the spikes and snag the life. When you drop down a little fish will fly out from the side. Dodge/kill it and move on. More of those fish will come out from the sides, so be alert. Dodge the spiked things, and go down the pit. You will come to another fork. Take the right path there's less spikes in the long run, and a big life energy in an indentation on the left. Continue on until you reach a point where there are bubbles coming out of the ground. First off, snag the life energy and jump on the big bubble on the far right when it comes out. After you get up one screen, kill the green fish that come out of the side. Jump to the big bubble that comes from the left. You can hop on the small bubbles, but they pop pretty quickly. Ride the bubble up and kill the green fishies that come out of the right side on the next screen. Jump to the big bubble on the right when it appears, and ride it the rest of the way up, killing the last fish on the last water screen. Go right, killing the wall climber things, and climb the ladder. Kill the wall climber and jump up the moving blocks, grabbing the ladder. Climb up, and switch to Proto/Rush Coil, I find this way much easier. When the third block starts shaking use the Coil and jump up and land on the fourth block when it comes out. Now we get to the hardest screen. Jump to the left block, jump to the next block that comes out, and keep jumping on them until you reach the ladder. Climb that thar ladder and keep going. Dodge more spikey things, kill more fish and then kill the last wall climber. Go through the boss doors... ------------------------------------ Swimmer Splash Woman wants to fight! ------------------------------------ Difficulty (Hornet Chaser): 4/10 Difficulty (Buster): 5.5/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 6/10 Attacks: 1. Swim. 2. Call fish. They go the way she's facing. They come in rows of three, and go straight forward. They can be destroyed. 3. Tridents. She'll fire tridents downward 4. Drop Down. She drops straight down with her trident. Strategy: The first boss I ever beat, she takes 2 bars of damage from the buster instead of 1. Tasty. Protoman can slide under her fish and slide away from the tridents, but the tridents deal massive damage. Megaman just has to kill the bottom fish to dodge the fish. Run away for the tridents. Kind of like dodging the rocks from the rock miniboss. Just keep beating down on her and evantually she'll fall. Yeah, shortest boss strategy ever. Obtained the best weapon ever to grace the world. Laser Trident. Before the next level, I'd just like to say something about the Laser Trident. It owns. It goes through everything that isn't a shield, and does good damage. Every Miniboss in the game goes down pretty easily to it. I just love it. You should too. ============================================================================== ---------------------------- 11. Concrete Man (Concrete2) ---------------------------- I hate the level. In fact, I'm going to give it a 10/10 for the difficulty even though it isn't even close to that hard. ------------- Rating: 10/10 ------------- Get over it. I hate this stage, if only for the first part. Remember those little things that popped out of the holes in Jewel Man's stage? Now combine this with birds dropping rocks and you have hell. Absolute hell. Kill the green thing as it comes up and shoot the rock before it hits the ground and breaks apart. Jump as fast as you can. Repeat. Or use Jewel Satellite. I'm going with method two. Once you're past that, kill the cannon and climb the ladder. You can kill the little things on the floor with the Black Hole Bomb, but it's really not necessary. Just shoot them with the buster to stun them long enough to jump up. Climb the ladder, snag the life and continue onwards. MINIBOSS (Sort of): Elephants from hell. Yeah, it's not really a miniboss, but it can be harder. They all push their ball out, then suck it back in. The sucking pulls you in too though. Each one has a different nuance to them. The first one's easy, climb the ladder and fire away. The second one is a bit harder. It makes the ball bounce once before it starts rolling. So it bounces the ball forward. To dodge this, run towards the elephant. The ball should go over you. Pelt it. Jump the ball when he sucks in. Repeat. The third one is just plain gruesome. There are two pits. He rolls the ball over the pits and sucks in. The ball is almost guarunteed to knock you in one of the pits if it hits you. So don't get hit. This is annoying and all you can do is practice. Laser Trident goes through the ball, in case you were wondering. >.> I like standing in the middle platform to dodge/attack. After you finish off that last elephant, continue on. If you have the Hornet Chaser, use it here to grab that big life energy. Also, notice the pattern on the blocks there. See how one is different than the others? You can fall through that block. You'll need to know this soon. Drop down some, kill the cannon, and move forward. You'll see some seemingly harmless spikes below. Look for the odd patterned block and jump over it so you don't die. Dodge the floor thing and keep going forward. Evantually you'll hit a wall behind a waterfall. Just stand there and shoot the cannon down. Then jump forward over the wall you can't see and climb the ladders. More fun with spiders and fake blocks. Kill the cannon and spider, then jump over the fake blocks. Kill the weird plant things on the next screen, paying attention to fake boxes, and keep moving forwards. Stand on the red platform with an upwards arrow and watch as you fly upwards. Jump off and snag the energy if you want it, then continue forwards. When you come to the series of platforms like this, some going down others up, just jump from platform to platform to reach the end and the boss doors! ---------------------------------- Hiker Concrete Man wants to fight! ---------------------------------- Difficulty (Laser Trident): 5/10 Difficulty (Buster): 8/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 9/10 Attacks: 1. Shoot Concrete at you, freezes you and deals damage. 2. Rams you, deals massive damage 3. Jumps up and slams down, causing a seismic quake. Strategy: He has no pattern. None. Laser Trident is appreciated, unless you feel like trying this over and over again. =P With Laser Trident, just fire at will, dodging his dashs and his seismic quakes by jumping when he lands. You can destroy his concrete shots with the Trident, but it's hard to time. Protoman's shield definitely doesn't block them. At all. Just the Trident. So go get it. I personally can't beat him without using several E-Tanks if I'm using the buster, so if anyone has any strategies, please tell me. If no one helps, just go check the Boss FAQ. It's the freaking Concrete Shot that does it for me. Sorry. You stole Concrete Shot! ============================================================================== ------------------------ 12. Wily's' Castle 1 (Wily1) ------------------------ ------------ Rating: 5/10 ------------ Welcome my friends, to Wily 1. This is the beginning of the end. Once you enter here, it's a marathon to the end. If you get a game over and choose not to Continue then you will start over from this stage. If you get to Wily 2, get a game over and use a Continue, you'll start at Wily 2. Etc. If you fail at video games as much as I do, I suggest you farm for screws/lives/E-tanks at Plug Man's stage. I needed like, 7 E-Tanks to make it all the way through the Wily stages. Oh, and I needed an M-Tank as well. Anyways, you begin the stage. Those fire shooters that were always in the lava at Magma Man's stage are running around. Kill them and move on. Come to the hell that looks a lot like Concrete Man's stage. Do the same here as you did there. At the end you'll see a giant thing that rolls towards you and pushes his shield on you. Let him come close to you and start to push it, then run away. After that he'll fire a couple shots. Blow him up. Now equip Tornado Blow and run up to the odd platform. Jump on it and use Tornado Blow and it'll push the platform up. On the next screen, do the same, but when the platform is about to reach the top of it's ascent, jump over to the pick-ups, grab them and run back to the platform. It should still be up, so jump quickly to the next platform and grab the ladder. Climb up and grab the energy pick-up on the left. Jump to the platform, T. Blow, grab the energy, jump to the next one. T. Blow and jump all the way to the life. Drop down to the platform and T.Blow again to get to the end of this section. Climb the ladder, kill the two enemies and continue on. Kill the three tree things and keep climbing. Miniboss time! MINIBOSS: Fire Dragon revisited. That's right, it's the Fire Dragon from Magma Man's stage again. Kill him with whatever you want. I like to use Laser Trident. Use Hornet Chaser to grab the life. Move forwards and you see the pipe guys from Plug Man's stage! If you really have to, you can farm here. Climb the ladder when you're done, and get out the Concrete Shot. More lava beams! When the beam comes close to you use Concrete Shot. It'll freeze the beam so you can jump on it and run across to the ladder. Grab onto the ladder and equip the Rush/Proto Jet. Climb up the ladder and OH MY GOD LAZERZ. Yeah, there's three. You see the little indent on the left? Jump onto that and use the Jet. Hold up as hard as you can, and when you're close enough jump onto the far right ladder. Now comes the hard part. If you want a free E-Tank, equip the Concrete Shot. Don't climb the ladder. Just wait for the top beam to fire and freeze it. Run to the far left ladder and climb up. You can wait for the beam up here to fire, but I find it easier just to climb up as fast as I can and then jump to the ladder above. After that, fire a C. Shot or use the Jet to get over to the other side. You'll arrive at two big blocks blocking your path. Use Laser Trident to break them. Because Laser Trident is awesome like that. Congrats on your new E-Tank. Navigate your way past the laser below, and freeze the top beam so you can run back over to the far right ladder. To do so, you'll have to hold right and up when you drop off the ladder. Right to go right and up so you'll grab the ladder. After this we come to a combination of the swinging platforms and the teleporting purple things. Swing the platform, jump in the teleporter and grab the ladder. Pretty simple. At this part you just have to jump to the next two platforms. Then use the Jet or C. Shot to get across the spikes. Kill some trees and move on. Kill the shield dude and you're at the boss! ---------------------------------- Wily Castle 1 Boss wants to fight! ---------------------------------- Difficulty (Buster): 5/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 6/10 Yeah, his weakness is Tornado Blow, but you don't want to waste that, now do you? Attacks: 1. Blue ones shoot small pellets at the spiked balls, pushing them towards you. 2. Red ones charge and then shoot, pushing the ball farther. 3. Both will fire small arrow shots at you. They only do this after they are able to push their spiked ball all the way to the end. Strategy: So, here's the jist of it. There are four rows. At the end of each row is a weird spike thing. The key is to shoot the spiked ball, knocking it back into the enemy. This isn't very difficult, just spam the buster. The part that makes it hard is the little arrow shots they fire. These are really annoying because they fire at where you are. You'll have to get used to dodging these shots. Protoman's shield does not block this. It's harder with Protoman simply because of the boosted damage. Just keep practicing dodging the arrow shots and soon he'll go down. You didn't get anything! Haha! ============================================================================== ----------------------- 13. Wily's Castle 2 (Wily2) ----------------------- ------------ Rating: 6/10 ------------ Wily 2 and still going! Refill your energy a bit if you need to and climb the left ladder. Kill the Metools and Rush/Proto Coil up to the life. Climb the ladder on the far right. You have two choices. You can strategically jump at the right times, or you can jump onto the first block, then jump back, turn around and fire a P./R. Coil you can jump on. Equip the Laser Trident and move on. You can either C. Shot to the other side of the spikes, or you can L. Trident through the blocks. Continue, killing the little red dudes and climb the ladder. You'll see some movie projector like robots flying around creating blocks. These blocks are fake. Use C. Shot/the Coil to jump up to the next floor, kill the enemy, and climb the ladder and jump to the end. Or kill the red dude and use the coil to get to the ladder. Climb the ladder, kill the red guy, and move on. At the next screen, jump on the second block in the top row, then on the fourth block from the left on the bottom row. Jump to the ladder and climb up. At this next screen, you can just barely make this jump, so if you're worried, just use the Jet or C. Shot to make it as safe a jump as possible. Miniboss time! MINIBOSS: Flower thing revisited. Nothing changed. At all. Well, you now have L. Trident, if you didn't before. Kill the miniboss and drop down. Refill if you need to and drop down into the water. Kill the octopi and continue onwards. If you want to get an E-Tank, you can either jump the dangerous path or just Jet across. Go back, and dodge the mines to get to the ladder. On the next screen, fish will start coming out from the sides. Equip the L. Trident and go to work on the blocks and fish refilling whatever you need with the energy along the way. Make the last few jumps, grabbing the life energy if you need it, and climb the ladder. Here jump straight up. It'll get the two fish to come after you. Now, jump to the middle platform. Jump up and grab the ladder and climb. Kill the two movie projectors if you can and make your way to the ladder. Kill stuff as you climb up the ladders, making sure to hold right when you have to jump down after the first long climb. Kill the two big things and enter through the boss doors! ---------------------------- Boss: Shark Ship or whatever ---------------------------- Difficulty (weakness): 4/10 Difficulty (Buster): 6/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 7/10 Three forms should mean three times the difficulty, right? Not really. Attacks: 1. Form one (The tail) will fire missles 2. Form two (The body) will fire little sharks at you, and move up and down 3. Form three (The head) will fire lazers from its mouth. Form one is pretty easy, just blast it with the Buster/L. Trident. It's not very hard, just destroy the missles with the buster. The second form is a bit harder. Shoot the bulbs on its bottom. If you can't dodge one of the mini sharks, just destroy it with your buster. If you have Tornado Blow, this is a piece of cake. The final form will be FIRIN' HIS LAZAR. So shoot him in the mouth before he fires them and dodge the lazar. Buster him. You got a rusty piece of metal! You threw it away! ============================================================================== ----------------------- 14. Wily's Castle 3 (Wily3) ----------------------- Welcome to scenic Wily 3. Please notice the immediate big guys that two-shot Protoman! Have fun! ------------ Rating: 7/10 ------------ Run to the right, dodging/killing the big guys. After that, welcome to the floating section! You float up no matter what, and you can't move. So shoot the buster and you'll start moving in the opposite direction you shot! You'll keep moving even after you stop shooting, but shooting more makes you go faster. Shooting is also used to slow down and stop. For the first section, just move into the middle of the screen and walk away for a second. YOu'll be safely at the top in no time. Shoot over to the ladder and climb up. Kill the enemies and jump over the spikes. Jump over, snag the life energy, and drop down. Grab more life energy, drop down on the right side, grab some energy, and climb down the right ladder if you need more energy. Afterwards, drop down the left side, not killing yourself on the spikes and keep moving forward. Grab the precious life energy and make your way into hell. Another floating section, not even as close to being as easy as the last. At all. First off, blast yourself to the right as fast as you can. You SHOULD dodge the claw thing that swoops down to try and grab you. Now stay on the right side, avoiding the spike when you transition screens. Kill/dodge the yellow blob and move to the left. Move back to the right if you can. Kill the green blob on the far right on your way up on the next screen. Then move to the left before you transition screens. If you can, grab the M-Tank and then tap your way over to the ladder. If you go all the way over, a claw will grab you and pull you into the spikes, so if that is about to happen use the Jewel Satellite to keep from dying. Otherwise grab the ladder and climb up. Here you will see three lives. The two on the right are fakes, they will pop up like Metools. Kill them and move on. Kill the cannon and move to the spot right before where the cannon was. Kill the next cannon and jump to where the cannon you just killed was. Kill the next cannon and jump forward a bit. Kill the cannon and kill the red guy. Jump over and kill the Metool. Kill the red guy and DON'T GO FOR THE LIFE. 'Tis a fake. Kill the big guy and drop down into the depths of hell. --------------------------------------------------- LEGENDARY ORANGE AND GREEN DEVIL PROTOTYPE APPEARS! --------------------------------------------------- Difficulty (Black Hole Bomb): 5/10 Difficulty (Buster): 7/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 7/10 Attacks: 1. Fire off blobs. They come in a specific pattern. LEARN THIS PATTERN. 2. That's it. One attack. I guess you could say firing the eye is an attack but it goes along with attack one. Strategy: Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern. Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern. Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern. Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern.Learn the pattern. That's all I can really say. Once you learn this, it's just a matter of dodging and blasting him. Use the Black Hole Bomb. When he's about to fire his eye, fire a Black Hole Bomb at where he'll fire it. Once it gets hit, press START and come back. The Bomb will have dissapeared, so you can fire another one of them. Handy! One of the hardest bosses in the game until you learn the pattern. Then it's one of the easiest. You got covered in devil blobs. Suffer much! ============================================================================= ------------------ 15. Endgame (End2) ------------------ I won't be giving this section a rating, since it's all bosses almost. So yeah, the final stage in the game. Prepare yourself! Refill using the small energies, hop down. Kill the Metool. See the laser there? You can block it with Concrete Shot. If you're Protoman, do so. If you're Megaman, just take the hit, save your C. Shot for the final boss. Protoman can take 3 hits from these, so use them wisely. Make your way through, and use the C. Shot to stop the final laser and jump up. Walk to the end, Hornet Chaser to grab the life, and prepare yourself. Jump down the pit, C. Shot/Jet to the life energy/energy and drop down the pit. It's time for the eight bosses! Check the boss section for how to beat each boss. At the end of each fight you will recieve a large life energy. Happy day. Use the buster on Galaxy Man, trust me. You'll want that Concrete Shot later. FAILGRAM TIME! Galaxy Man Plug Man OMFG FINAL Concrete Man BOSS Tornado Man Splash Woman Jewel Man Hornet Man Magma Man Reach the final boss. ------------------------------------------------ Champion Wily wants to murder you in your sleep! ------------------------------------------------ Difficulty: 8/10 Yeah. It's hard. Form 1: 1. Shoot eggs Form 2: 1. Hover. 2. Slam down on you 3. Shoot fire Form 3: 1. Shoots 4 blue balls. They will then shoot at you. 2. Shoots 6 sparks, three on the top that come down, three that follow the ground. First form you have to knock the egg back into his mouth. On the third bounce. Shoot the egg and it will bounce back. Do this three times and hit his mouth on the third time and it will damage him. Get used to it. Second form he'll hover above the ground, then pound down. Just run to the right and then to the left to avoid this. Shoot him with Concrete Shot and then run away, he'll fire a line of fire. This isn't too hard to dodge. He will then come really close to you. Jump here, and he'll fire fire at you. You'll dodge this because the fire will come out too high to hit you. Third form he vanishes and reappears. His weakness is Plug Ball, so use it if you get the chance. Everything else does 1 bar of damage. Hornet Chaser and Magma Bazooka are both good to hit him with as well. Feel free to use as many E-Tanks as you need. Just remember if you run out and lose you have to start all over to get them back. No pressure! For winning, you obtain the ending! ============================================================================== ------------------ 16. Bosses (Boss2) ------------------ Hi dere copypasta! He always drop down after he finishes uses the Black Hole Bomb. With Megaman, just shoot away whenever he drops down. For more help see the boss guide. It's below mine somewhere. -------------------------------------- Firebreather Magma Man wants to fight! -------------------------------------- Difficulty (Tornado Blow): 3/10 Difficulty (Buster): 8/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 8/10 Attacks: 1. Handy. Try to stay in the lower two sections of the level, and note that Protoman's shield blocks his fire shots, and use the Boss FAQ until I learn to suck less. --------------------------------------- Bug Catcher Hornet Man wants to fight! --------------------------------------- Difficulty (Magma Bazooka): 3.5/10 Difficulty (Buster): 6/10 Difficulty (Protoman): 6/10 Attacks: 1. Run around the room. 2. At each end of the room he'll jump up. 3. When he jumps he'll fire 3 homing bees. You can destroy these. Strategy: Magma Bazooka owns this guy. Use it to kill his bees, and then just rape his face off with fire. Stand on the middle section and jump up when he comes close. With the buster, it takes two shots to kill the bees. Bleck. Learn to dodge the bees and possibly kill them while dealing out damage to Hornet Man at a steady pace. I'm not good with these things. *coughbosscoughcoughFAQcough* ------------------------------------ Swimmer Splash Woman wants to fight!
