How do I get magic in the stick from the time the temple so I can get the gun and get to the sky temple!

Do you mean the Dominion Rod? If so you get it from beating the temple of time's mini boss. The guide here on supercheats should help you figure out how to get to that room. After that you need to use the rod on some status. The first one can be found in Kakariko Gorge, the second status is north of Eldin Bridge, the third one can be found in South Faron Woods. The forth one can be found in Gerudo Mesa and the fifth one is in Hyrule Castle. The last and final one can be found by warping to the castle and heading in the direction of Great Hylia Bridge it'll be to the right on the mountain side. Hope this helps.
