Have you collected the Earth Crystal? Polar Fields is only unlockable after that point since when you pass through the Crystal Caverns the rock leading to Polar Fields is too heavy. The wizard tells you where to go to get to Polar Fields. Once you are in crystal Caverns go to the fourth rock and then push it, if you are ok you can find your way from here otherwise use the map and the yellow arrow will show you the way!
