We have 2 cheats and tips on PC. If you have any cheats or tips for NASCAR SimRacing please send them in here. You can also ask your question on our NASCAR SimRacing Questions & Answers page.
Keyboard
First off, this is the worst electronic device to drive with, one is no one likes a crazy driver that drives like a monkey, and the keyboard seems to just have the monkeys number, no matter what you do to setup the car say at Talladega, going down the stretches, you fix it from going to the left and have it going sorta straight. But now you have messed up the cars overall proformance, it now runs slower in the turns and down the stretches.
Steering Wheel
This is the best piece of electronic equipment you can get, many drivers use the MOMO Racing Wheel for racing online and I agree it is the best electronic device to be using, it out proforms the Gamepad and for surely the Keyboard, but like everything else there are downsides, these Steering Wheels cost from $80 to $120 USD. But it is worth every penny.
Gamepad
Ya, better than the Keyboard, but not as great as the Steering Wheel, this electronic device would put you in the same position as playing your NASCAR '07 game on PlayStation 2, as you are using a greatly defined controller, this would be a great device to use, but all eyes are on the Steering Wheel.
So overall, your best with the Steering Wheel, so if you get this game get the Steering Wheel, if you can't afford the Steering Wheel, get the Gamepad, just don't drive online using the Keyboard, also to give you a heads up, use the Test Session option to get the feel before going straight online or straight into the Season mode.
Start a new career and create a new username. Before loading your first race or playing with any other game options, exit the game and go to to the 'Save' folder located in the NASCAR Sim Racing folder.
Here you will find the user you just created as anew folder. Open that folder, and then open the 'career' configuration settings via Notepad, or your favourite text editor.
Before diting, always make sure you make a backup, or otherwise you'll have to recreate the player if you mess it up.
After you have the 'Career' config settings opened, you should see the following.
CarData
{
CurrentCar="Default"
Car
{
Name="Default"
Level0=0
Level1=0
Level2=0
Level3=0
Condition=100
}
Where default will be your car name, and the # will be your current level of research, which should be set to zero if you just started a new career.
All you have to do is edit the zero to 5 for all four levels and this will give you all research levels complete. After editing you should have the following.
CarData
{
CurrentCar="Default"
Car
{
Name="Default"
Level0=5
Level1=5
Level2=5
Level3=5
Condition=100
}
Then all you have to do is save the edit config settings, reload your game, and then you should see your car's research is fully complete.
Enjoy!
