If you want to get a boost start at the beginning of a race wait for the announcer to count down '3... 2... 1...' and when he says 'GO!' tap L1 (Boost) and you will accelerate off the starting line fast.

When using tokens to purchase items (x1,x2,x5) if you keep spending tokens in one denomination you will be able to get all the parts in that slot. They max out at a certain point. Example: if you keep getting items from the x2 tokens catagory eventually it will tell you no more items are availible in that slot. Then you can switch to X1, or X5. You can do them in any order you want depending on what types of pieces you want. X2 is engines, x5 is mod car bodys and X1 is misc. Stuff

When you're going to shield yourself from incoming attacks, you must time it right as it only lasts for 2 seconds, more or less. Time it incorrectly, and it won't work which you get hit. If you are alerted but wears off, it means the weapon missed you. Don't use the shield when that happened. Remember!: Using the sheild will cost your boost

When you see a racer use the Warp weapon, you'll notice so by the green rings. If you pass through them right, you'll be warped along with the user. A sneaky winning tactic!

If you're about to use the Warp weapon, but don't want the other racers to use this trick against you, your best bet is to drive off course away from them. Drive off a cliff and the very second in the air, hit the Square button just before you reset and you'll get the desired turbo without anyone following behind and even leave some players dumbfounded! If no cliffs are within reach, you may need to double-jump off the fences and fire before the game resets you. No other player won't want to waste time for those rings!
