Skylanders Spyro's Adventure | Wii

My kids are playing Skylanders. They are on Chapter 10: Treetop Terrace and after defeating Blitzer Bully they pull down the rope & lower the 4 planks but when they walk across the next part it does not raise up to bring them to the higher level to continue playing. We watched a youtube video of someone playing this chapter to see how to do it. We did not notice them doing anything else that we did not do. They were using a PlayStation & we are using a Wii but I do not think it makes a difference. Can you help? Thanks.
