To make a map put 9 pieces of paper in a crafting table and that will create an empty map. To make it into a map you need to hold down on the screen or press the make map button on the bottom of the screen when you hold an empty map.

You can find iron by mining in the ground at stone level.

To get gems you can either remove trees, stones, mushrooms, or gem boxes which randomly spawn in an open spot in your village. More ways to get them is by completing achievements, getting higher leagues in the trophy leagues, and more!

Yeah, it shouldnt work in creative. If it did, that would be considered a bug and to be removed ASAP.

I'm sorry but I don't believe there is any way to increase/decrease the resolution size on her device. Resolution has to do with very small "Pixels" which create the color of your screen. There is no way to increase or decrease it's size. Maybe try turning the brightness down?

Well, the bad news is, there NO commands implemented in Minecraft Pocket Edition YET. Even though you may try /gamemode 1 or /give, they wont work because the developers have not yet added in commands. Maybe next update?!

Now this depends on what type of server you are using. A lot of servers and mainly all of them have the option of not being able to break blocks. If you look around in your server settings, you should be able to find it.
