Paper Mario 2, Gamecube's most recent Mario platformer. After fiannly finding this game with a reduced price I now know I made no mstake with buying it. Mario and the Mushroom kingdom are all now paper thin. This creates a new type of video game giving Mario many special paper based powers.
The graphics are perfect. They are perfectly smooth and you can easily see what is goin on around you. They are very colourful giving this game the papery style that it is based on. It actually looks like a coloured paper book. The special effects are also very well done.
The music is really catchy. Nice and relaxing when it needs to be and exiting when it needs to be. The sound effects are also very well done but some can be very annoying for example in one part there are these enemies who suck on you to take one piece of you life but it actually sounds like they are kissing you. Letdown.
I give gameplay a nine out of ten just because when you are simply walking down a road to you destination enemies jsut attack you and sometimes it can be very hard to get away from them. Otherwise the gameplay is perfect bar the beginning. I just wish they would shut up with telling me what to do and let me figure things out on my own.
A good forty hours if you want to find everything. There are plenty of side quests to keep you occupied and the main quest is very long too. A game that can keep you going for a long time, longer than almost all of the game currently on slae for Gamecube.
It just mananged to get a perfect 10 in some places. As a percentage I would give this 92%. Sometimes the gameplay can get annoying as I said but the graphics are amazing, the sound is not far from perfect, the gameplay is also near perfect and the game is long enough to keep you going for a long time. even if you play it every day. This game has made it's mark as one of Gamecube's finest games and I strongly recommend it to you.
