To avoid potential damage from an incoming attack in Undermine you must jump. What you must consider first before jumping is the immunity frame where as the name would suggest you become immune to most damage for a short moment while performing the action which in this case is jumping.



In order to make the most of the immunity frame it is critical that you utilise your jump as often as you can while attempting to avoid damage from monsters. This means that during the fights you find yourself in you will be rapidly alternating between a jump and a single attack. Once you master the jump amd make good use of the immunity frames you will able to greatly reduce the damage you take during the game.

It is also important to remember that you will not be immune from damage-over-time effects such as burning or poison damage and that there is always the possibility when jumping your character will accidentally land on dangerous objects such as spike traps, holes in the ground, or even fire. To avoid this from happening you should always be aware of your position before jumping so you can land in the safest area possible.

Gold is the currency used in UnderMine and you will be able to find it on your travels in chests, plants, skulls, statues, crystals, crates, vases, and from gold deposits within the different rooms. Gold deposits can be found inside boulders or gold veins so make sure you get into the habit of checking all of the walls in a room for gold viens before moving on to he next room.

The gold you find in UnderMine can be used to purchase food, relics, and a variety of different items from shops. Gold can also be used to purchase upgrades from the shops back in your base when you die. Remember though that upon death you will lose a portion of the gold you have collected, the amount will depend on your gold integrity; all gold can be kept if you complete a run or pick up the Sewing Kit.
