1: Interstellar (2014)
Earth's future has been riddled by disasters, famines, and droughts and is slowly becoming uninhabitable. The only chance humanity has of surviving is to send a team of astronauts through a newly discovered wormhole in the far reaches of our solar system in an attempt find a planet that has the right environment to sustain human life and ensure mankinds survival.
2: When World's Collide (1951)
As a new star and planet hurtle towards a doomed Earth, a small group of survivalists frantically work to complete the rocket which willl take them to a passing inhabitable planet and save humanity. It is a race against time and as the end nears, human drama complicates things when it is announced only 44 chosen by lottery, will be able to go.
3: Aliens (1986)
A squad of heavily armed Colonial Marines are sent via dropship to moon LV-426 only to find the colony damaged and seemingly abandoned apart from one survivor, a nine year old girl named Newt. It is then that these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry learn they are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.
4: Total Recall (1990)
Douglas Quaid is a bored construction worker in the year 2084 who dreams of visiting the colonized Mars. He visits 'Rekall', a comppany that plants false memories into people's brains, in order to experience the thrill of Mars without having to travel there. But something goes wrong during the procedure and Quaid discovers that his entire life is actually a false memory and that the people who implanted it in his head want him dead.
5: Forbidden Planet (1956)
When a spaceship travels to the distant planet Altair IV to discover the fate of a group of scientists sent there decades earlier they find only two people. Dr. Morbius and his daughter, Altaira, who was born on the remote planet. The crew of the spaceship then start to uncover the mystery of what happened on Altair IV, and why Morbius and Altaira are the sole survivors.
