Decorations

This category of in-game item encompasses a wide variety of add-ins, some of which may have additional effects or special requirements in order to purchase, as noted below. Note that new Items can be added to the game with each major or minor Update, so you will want to check the store often, so you can take advantage of new Content as early as possible.

Notes on prices: Items that are marked with a $xx indicate items that the player must use in-game Cash in order to purchase; items marked with a xxD indicate items that can only be purchased using Donuts, which is one of the other form of in-game currency -- items marked as xx Tickets can only be purchased with that number of Krustyland Tickets, which are the other type of in-game currency (in this case script rather than currency but still).

As only makes sense, Donuts have a higher inherent value for Homer and to a lesser extent Bart than regular Currency or Tickets, the former being much more difficult to obtain while the latter is easier.

Note: If an item in the tables below is of a higher level than our game is presently at, all of the details may not be available for that item. For example the cost may be marked as "$??" or "??D" which is meant to indicate this. Once our game catches up to the level of those Items and the actual cost is revealed it will be added to the listings here.

Also note that while we try to catch this and use the base price rather than the price with Bonus percetages calculated, we may miss that in some listings, so the item cost may be off by the current bonus level in our game as a result. That can also appear in the XP for a listed item if we use the adjusted number in place of the base number. The point is, YMMV.

The Springfield Zone

At the present state of play in The Simpson's: Tapped Out, there are two distinct game zones available for play -- the original "Springfield Zone" which is the city of Springfield itself, consisting of a large number of land blocks unlocked and populated by the player.

When Tapped Out was first released, the Springfield Zone was the only play area available in the game with the exception of the "Alternate Springfields" that are accessed via the social networking button on the bottom right of the screen (depicting Milhouse and Bart).

Springfield Decorations

The tables presented here are as up-to-date as we can manage, but be advised that with each Update and Expansion that is made to the game there is a possibility that new Items, decorations, and even Buildings can be added that have not yet made it into the Guide.

The Krustyland Zone

The newer "Krustyland Zone" was added to the game as a distinct destination that is part of the Krustyland Expansion, and is reached using the Krustyland Shuttle that you place in your Springfield Zone.

When Tapped Out was first released, the Springfield Zone was the only play area available in the game with the exception of the "Alternate Springfields" that are accessed via the social networking button on the bottom right of the screen (depicting Milhouse and Bart). The new Krustyland Zone not only expands the Game Play area to a new destination location, but suggests that similar theme-based expansions are possible in the future.

Krustyland Decorations

When you reach the point in your game that you unlock the Krustyland Shuttle and the "Krusty-est Place On Earth" quest line, you will have access to the special store that is exclusive to Krustyland, and includes the following Decoration Items:

Note: While the Krustyland Decorations are similar in many ways to the decorations that are available in the Springfield Zone, they are in fact unique to Krustyland, and can only be purchased with the new in-game script-Money, Krustyland Tickets, and placed in Krustyland. Premium Items in the new zone still use Donuts as their payment form.

The roll-out of the new Expansion area includes a large number of desirable Items for placement, from decorations to structures and attractions, and it may seem at first that the Introduction of a new in-game Money (Tickets) represents something of a set-back to you considering you do not have a steady source for accumulating these.

Bear in mind that the Krustyland area functions in a fashion that is very similar to Springfield, and some of the objects and most of the structures you place there also have a function and timer similar to the "Taxes" in Springfield that generate structure income in the form of Cash Money. In Krustyland that income takes the form of Tickets.

Just as was the case with Springfield, the more objects/attractions you place in Krustyland -- and the more quests, tasks, and jobs you complete -- the better your position will become in establishing regular Ticket income. Something to keep in mind.

Springfield Characters

When your Game Play in the Krustyland Expansion area first begins there are only a limited number of Characters from Springfield who can (and will) appear in Krustyland for use there in completing tasks and jobs and riding the rides.

Initially that list is small -- and consists of Bart, Homer, and Crusty. As you complete quests there however that list expands rapidly, adding Cletus, the rest of the Simpson family, and their Neighbors from home in a swift fashion.

Hint: You should make it a point to visit Krustyland each time you play the game so that you can collect the Tickets from the objects/attractions in the new zone, as that is the fastest way for you to begin to build up a Ticket reserve.
