As there is a skill tree in this game it is recommended that you upgrade the backpack first, so you are able to gather more materials and resources. As you progress through the game you will naturally level up the stealth, science, and combat skills which will then unlock different crafting options.

Level Up the Best Skills First

In Terminator: Resistance Enhanced skills are split into three categories and there are quite a few you can unlock. The three categories are combat, science, and survival and each are geared up for a specific purpose. Combat skills will make you a more efficient killer with better weapon handling and more powerful explosives. The science skills focuses on crafting and hacking, and the survival skills allow you to accumulate HP and XP faster. These skills are upgraded using the Skill Books you find scattered throughout the game, listed below are the skills which we recommend you should invest in first.

Combat Category - Weapons 1
Throughout Los Angeles there are plasma weapons of different generations you can pick up. By unlocking the Weapons 1 skill and upgrading it's levels you will gain the ability to pick up and use the more powerful ones which will help you considerably later in the game.

Science Category - Lockpicking 1
This is a very useful skill as it will help you to unlock doors and chests which will enable you to find collectibles and alternate paths. There are all kinds of locking mechanisms in the game and the Lockpicking 1 skill will help you to unlock them more efficiently.

Survival Category - Fast Learner 1
Investing in this skill will help you to build up XP at a faster rate which will help with upgradinng skills to another level. Maxing out this skill will grant a 30% boost in building up XP.
