Streets of Rage 4 Cheats and Tips

Streets of Rage 4 takes place ten years after the events of Streets of Rage 3 in which the criminal mastermind Mr. X was finally defeated. Now Axel, Blaze, and Adam teaming up with new brother and sister-in-arms Floyd Iraia and Cherry Hunter are ready to dish out beatdowns to a fledgling group of ill-advised and a gauntlet of dangerous stages with a serious crime problem.

Best Character
The best character to choose in Streets of Rage 4 is Blaze Fielding, she is a versatile character who can make the most of her speed, long-range jump attacks, powerful slams, throw moves, and efficient blitz attacks to overcome difficult situations.
Blaze is a master of judo and sambo. Her fighting style consists of powerful judo throws combined with gymnastic moves and efficient jump attacks. She also uses powerful kicks and knee attacks, punches, and uppercuts, and can also suplex her enemies when behind them, dealing massive damage.

Use 'Game Over' Assists
If you are a beginner and struggling to progress past an enemy encounter or a boss you may want to consider enabling the 'Game Over' assists on the retry screen. Doing so will grant you additional lives and even extra stars at the expense of your score.
Until you master the level of difficulty you are currently acquainted enabling these assists will enable you to extend your lifespan, and allow you to battle tougher foes for longer.

Let the Game Do the Work
In some of the 12 levels, there will be instances in which cops and gang members who are in close quarters will fight each other, take advantage of these scenarios by taking a breather, and let the game do the work for you. Throw a gang member across the screen into some cops, the cops might finish the job for you and vice versa.

Use the Environment
In several of the levels, there will be environmental hazards such as electric cables and death pits which you can take advantage of to eliminate enemies. Lure enemies towards them, grab them, and throw them at the hazards if necessary.

Save Star Items
Although the star items are not game-changing they do have their uses, they can help you improve your score at the end of a chapter and lessen the burden of a boss' healthy bar as these attacks are unblockable and will leave the boss vulnerable to a follow-up combo. Resist the temptation of using star items on sub-bosses or a regular group of enemies and save them for the big bosses.

Take Weapons with You
Unlike previous games in the Streets of Rage series, you can now take weapons with you between screens. To use a weapon in the next screen you simply have to grab it and take it with you when you move on.
Weapons such as a pipe or a throwing cleaver can give you an advantage in boss fights so are worth keeping an eye out for as you progress through the game.

Replenish Health
Hold off from immediately eating the food you find to replenish your health. It is more beneficial to save it for when you are below half healthy before you eat it so you don't waste it. Chicken restores all your health while apples restore about a quarter of it.
