Stop Slimes from Escaping

If you have slimes continuously escaping you will need to invest in Ranch Plots to manage them. It is essential that you make sure they have high walls and air nets to prevent the slimes from escaping. If you keep your slimes well-fed they will happily stay in their corral. Having loose slimes on your ranch can cause all kinds of problems if they are left unattended.

Farm Food for Slimes

It is essential that you continuously feed your slimes to maintain their happiness and in order to do so you will need to produce a steady supply of food. The best way to solve this problem is to purchase a farm and coop. There are different types you can buy, farms will basically enable you to grow vegetables while the coops keep chickens safe so yo can breed them. The vegetables you grow and chickens you breed are then fired into the pen with the slimes.

Essential Early Upgrades

In Slime Rancher there are various upgrades you can puchase to make the game easier. During the early game when you have more than one type of slime on your ranch it is essential that you invest in the higher wall corral upgrade as this will help prevent them from escaping and making Tarrs. The other upgrade you should consider getting is the plort collector so you don't have to enter corrals to collect plorts. This particular upgrade is especially helpful if you have rock slimes as their spikes will reduce your health if they touch you.

Upgrade your Vacpack

When you begin Slime Rancher you will be equipped with a vacpack. This useful piece of gear is given to you free and will enable you to transport slimes and ports, manage crops, and defend yourself from the dangers out on the range. Try to save as much money as possible in order to invest in the upgrades that are available for the vacpack.

Always Be Prepared when Exploring

It is important that you always pay attention to your surroundings when you are exploring in Slime Rancher so you don't miss out on valuable resources. Whenever you encounter feral slimes make sure you first carefully observe their behaviour so you can best determine how to handle them. It is recommended that you keep one vac-tank stocked with food and purchase the water tank upgrade as soon as have the available funds.

Complete Range Exchange Requests

In Slime Rancher the Range Exchange is a place where you can meet, trade, and befriend other ranchers and by completing the Range Exchange Requests you will not only be able to earn some extra money and resources but it will also enable you to build useful relationships with other ranchers that will enable you to trade resources.

Do Not Put Different Largos Together

One of the most important things you must remember is to never put different Largos together. The reason for this is because if a Largo eats a third type of plort they will turn into a Tarr which is something you must avoid at all costs as a Tarr is a hostile slime that while eat other slimes and replicate. If you discover you have a Tarr in your ranch you will need to get rid of it as quickly as possible by using water.
