Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters is the first game in the series to appear on
the PlayStation Portable. Unlike the earlier games, this one was developed by
High Impact Games, and not by Insomniac Games. The gameplay is a blend of
action, platforming and adventure, which should suit a lot of gamers. There's
lots of unlockables in Size Matters, which is one of my main reasons for
writing this walkthrough. The hidden titanium bolts and armor parts especially.

You'll be running around in a 3D landscape, collecting items, destroying
enemies, and even playing mini games. Most of the time, the robot Clank is
hanging onto his friend Ratchet, just like a backpack. There are several
planets that you'll get to visit, and each of them looks completely different
from the other ones. I'll be your guide from the beginning of your journey to
the very end, so let's get started.

==============================================================================

Ratchet
-------
The hero of the whole franchise. This athletic guy is a brave Lombax - which
is an alien species - from the planet Veldin. Before setting out on
adventure, Ratchet was working as a mechanic, but these days, he's a famous
galactic hero. Everyone knows who he is and what he looks like. He likes
traveling to various places, especially when accompanied by his friend Clank.
Not afraid of getting into action, Ratchet carries several weapons with him,
and is always ready to try on new kinds of armor. His easygoing attitude and
his athletic body makes him an ideal action game hero.

Clank
-----
This robot is Ratchet's friend and sidekick. Clank was designed by a
supercomputer to save the Solana Galaxy, but now it travels around in various
galaxies, following the Lombax named Ratchet, who is Clank's best friend.
When it comes to brains, this robot has plenty. In raw power however, it
lacks compared to other robots. Clank is to Ratchet what Kazooie is to
Rareware's lazy teenage bear Banjo.

Luna
----
A cute little girl with blue pants and red hair. Luna wants to write about
Ratchet and Clank in her school report, and follows the two of them around
for a while, taking pictures and writing notes related to her heroes. Altough
she is very cute and great at jumping, she isn't very strong. There is
something weird about the way she talks, though.

Captain Qwark
-------------
Always following Ratchet around, Qwark is also a galactic hero. However, even
though he boasts a lot, Qwark is really quite a sissy. His reputation is
undeserved, as he often takes advantage of other people, instead of doing
great heroic deeds himself. Raised by monkeys, Qwark has never seen his real
parents, and is encouraged by Ratchet to search for them.

Frequently Asked Questions [be04]
==============================================================================

Q: What are the bolts I find everywhere used for?
A: Buying weapons, gadgets and ammunition.

Q: What is a Hyper Strike?
A: Jumping and swinging your wrench while mid-air.

Q: How do I level up my weapons?
A: Just shoot enemies. When you've defeated enough of them with one weapon,
   it will gain a level.

Q: How do I re-enter Dreamtime?
A: After you've escaped from the medical facility on Omega, you will arrive
outside, where you can race some skyboard races. Behind the man you talk to
in order to race, there is a bed. This bed is the entrance to Dreamtime.

Q: How do I buy weapon modifications?
A: You'll have to find a Mod Vending Machine.

Q: How do I get all the armor pieces?
A: You will have to play through the game several times. Check the armor
piece locations section of this walkthrough to find out how to get them all.

Q: How do I get rid of plants that I've let grow to full size?
A: Just sprinkle more water onto them.

Q: How do I swim?
A: You can't swim at all in Size Matters.

Q: I heard something about Titan Weapons?
A: Play challenge mode after completing the game once, and you'll be able
to buy the Titan weapons from the vending machines. You can only buy
Titan versions of the weapons you've maxed out the level of.

Q: I always run out of ammo while fighting bosses. What should I do?
A: This problem is usual in challenge mode, which is after you've gotten
the PDA. With the PDA, you can just buy more ammo whenever you feel like.

Challenge Mode Explained [be05]
==============================================================================

- BASICS: After beating the last boss once, you can enter challenge mode. If
you choose to do so, you will be sent back to the beginning of the game, but
you'll keep all of your weapons and most of your equipment. The enemies are
harder this time around, and you will be able to collect more armor pieces to
  complete your collection.

- NEW ARMOR PIECES: Some armor pieces only appear in challenge mode, and
the last ones of them won't appear before your second time in challenge mode,
which means that you need to complete the game at least three times (first
time, in addition to two times in challenge mode) if you want all all the
armor pieces. In this FAQ, you'll find a list that tells you where and how to
  get all the armor pieces

- TITAN WEAPONS: Another important thing about challenge mode is that you can
actually buy Titan versions of all the weapons you have leveled up to V.4.
The Titan weapons are much more powerful than the usual ones. Buy them from
any vending machine in challenge mode. The RYNO, which is the most powerful
weapon in the game will also be available from the vending machines in
  challenge mode.

- SKILL POINTS ARE IMPORTANT: Challenge mode is great for getting the skill
points that are hidden throughout the game, even though you can earn them
before entering challenge mode as well. On each planet or level, there are
certain things you can do, like running through certain areas very fast, in
order to earn skill points. When you've got enough skill points, you will be
  rewarded with in-game cheats.

- BOLT MULTIPLIER: when you defeat enemies in challenge mode, a multiplier icon
will appear in the upper right corner, near the bolts. When you collect
bolts, the amount you get will be multiplied with the number in the corner.
Defeat lots of enemies if you want to earn lots of bolts. The biggest
multiplier is 12x, which gives twelve times more bolts than you pick up. When
you take damage, the multiplier falls down to 1x again.

Finally, make sure not to confuse Challenge Mode with the Clank Challenges,
which are mini games where you'll play as Clank alone.

Pokitaru [wa01]
==============================================================================

--- FIGHT SOME ROBOTS --------------------------------------------------------

Ratchet and Clank are relaxing on the beach, when a little girl with red hair
suddenly appears, asking them to do some action for her school report. Ratchet
agrees with the girl, and asks Clank to follow him quickly, so that he won't
miss his massage in 15 minutes. You'll be playing from now on, so get used to
the basic controls. Just run around a little and break the nearby crates using
your wrench, as this will reward you with some bolts, which are the currency
in Size Matters. There are crates everywhere throughout the game, so make sure
you don't forget breaking them to get some good stuff.

Examine the nearby vendor machine. These machines are where you can buy stuff
like weapons and ammunition. You pay for these items with the bolts you've
found earlier. Jump up the ledge left of the vendor, and kill those blue
spiders by swinging your wrench. Break the crates to get some bolts (from now
on, you'll have to remember this yourself) then follow the girl. She stops
near a ledge, where you will have to hold both shoulder buttons, then jump to
get to the top. This technique is called a High Jump.

After jumping to the top of the ledge, you will be attacked by some robots
that are coming out of two small buildings. This is a nice opportunity for you
to try the Lacerator weapon. Hold the Triangle button to bring up the weapon
select menu, then pick the Lacerator. Ratchet aims at nearby enemies by
himself, so just press Circle to blow the robots up. As you can see on the
weapon select menu now, you have used some of your Lacerator ammunition.

Swing your wrench near the iron pin in the ground, to connect with it. Then
walk around in a circle to open the nearby gate. On the other side there is a
pretty big gap that you will have to use the Long Jump to get over. You do
this by running, then holding both shoulder buttons, and jumping. The little
girl has no problems getting to the other side, so don't worry about her.

Press SELECT to access 1st person mode, bring up your Lacerator, then fire at
the target on the gate to open it. You'll see a small waterfall with lots of
spiders coming out of it. Smack them using your wrench, and collect the bolts
behind the waterfall itself. Do a High Jump to get to the top of another
ledge, select your Acid Bomb Glove from the weapons menu, and throw some acid
bombs at the robots on the other side of the gap. When they have been
defeated, jump over the gap and slip down a slope. Since the Acid Bombs are
great at defeating several enemies at once, you will want to use them down
here, at all the robots that suddenly come running out of their houses.

If you're low on health, you can find a Health Orb left of the slide you just
used. You're starting to get the hang of dealing with spiders and robots now,
right? I'm sure you are, since you've survived this far. Allright, keep
following the red-haired girl, kill some blue crabs that jump up from the
water, and blast the robots with your Lacerator. You will have to cross some
water now to reach a small holm, which is fine as long as you don't try
swimming where its deeper. If you try that, a fish will eat you alive. We
don't want you to die yet, do we?

At the holm, activate another iron pin to make a bridge appear. On the bridge
you will find the [Wildfire Body Armor] which looks sexy, and provides you
with some more armor for tough situations. Ratchet will equip the armor
himself, but you can take it on and off as you want to from the Armor Menu.
You find this, and many other menus by pressing START. At the other side of
the bridge, is the beach where you started out. Watch the cut-scene where
Ratchet meets Qwark. Things get a little more serious when an aircraft
suddenly blows up the nearby beach house, and some robots start chasing the
little girl you've grown so attached to.

--- RESCUE THE GIRL ----------------------------------------------------------

If you check the mission screen from the start menu, you will see that your
new mission is to rescue the girl from the robots. Looks like Ratchet just got
a chance to prove himself again. If you need more ammunition for your
Lacerator, you can buy that at the vendor machine that's nearby. Do that, then
walk bast the house that the aircraft blew up earlier. You will reach a
Continue Point beyond this house. Continue Points are places you will starts
from if you are defeated. For example, if you die later on this level, you
will start up just beyond the house that the aircraft demolished. Defeat some
attacking crabs, and make your way up to a small bar. Use your wrench to
defeat all the flying robots here, and make sure to take the bolts they drop,
as always.

Now it might look like you won't get any further, but that's not true. See
that metallic-looking wall near the bar? You can walk straight onto it using
the magnetic boots that Ratchet has equipped on himself. Up here there are
some flying robots waiting for you with their cannons. Watch out so that you
don't die here. While taking out all of the enemies up here, you should watch
out so that you don't fall down into the water, since there's no railing here.

As you can see there is a yellow circle here on the right side. Do not step
onto this yet. Instead, do a Long Jump to reach a platform hanging on the
mountain side left of the yellow circle. You'll find a [Titanium Bolt] on this
platform. These bolts are used for unlocking skins. You can check the various
skins in your start menu, under 'special'. Have in mind that the skins are not
useful for anything, and only alters how Ratchet looks. Now go back to the
yellow circle, from which you can slide over to the other side of the water.

Defeat the spiders, take the health orb from the nearby crate, and make your
way into a small cave. Here the game will introduce you to strafing. You can
strafe in four directions by using the directional pad. This is great for
shooting at several enemies at once, and for avoiding bullets or beams that
are being shot at you. Take down the robots with your Lacerator while
strafing. Outside of the cave you will find the [Wildfire Gloves]. Buy some
ammunition at the nearby vendor, then step onto the yellow circle platform in
the water. This is another continue point.

Buy hey! The platform started moving! It takes you out to sea! The aircraft
from earlier appears, and drops two robots out of it. Shoot them down, and
jump onto the holm that the platform gets close too. Defeat all the crabs, and
walk into another platform. The robots have started setting the buildings on
the various holms on fire! Shoot them. When you reach a holm with two houses
on, there is a [Titanium Bolt] behind the house on your left side. Take the
bolt, then jump back onto the moving platform. Jump past all the platforms,
and defeat all the robots and crabs up here. Strafing while jumping is great
for taking down the robots, as you might have noticed already.

Keep running, but instead of going out to the helicopter pad, walk onto the
square formed platform with a yellow circle on. The platform takes you up to
the roof. Watch the scene with Luna and the Technomite Artifact. Ratchet and
Clank decides to go to another planet, and Qwark follows them.

==============================================================================
Ryllus [wa02]
==============================================================================

--- INVESTIGATE THE ARTIFACT -------------------------------------------------

Qwark is allowed to search for his family using Ratchet's computer, while
Ratchet and Clank want to find out where they should go with the Technomite
Artifact that they found back on Pokitaru. As you can see, Ratchet's space
ship is here, and it is possible to walk into it. By doing this, you can
travel back to planets you have visited earlier. Check the nearby vendor. If
you can afford it, buy the Concussion Gun for 10,000 Bolts. Now, behind the
space ship, you can actually drop down to a stone platform, where a [Titanium
Bolt] has been hidden. Make sure you use the 1st person view to make sure that
you don't miss the platform when jumping down there.

Down here you can find out how great your new Concussion Gun is, if you could
afford it that is. Shoot or hit the cannibals (lets call them that) until
they're all gone, to make a nearby gate open. Walk through it, avoid the
purple cat, and watch the cut scene with the camera that is following Ratchet
around. Ignore the stone stairs, since they only lead back to your space ship.
Keep running, shoot some cats and a red flower to defeat them. When you get to
a barricade-like place, near that red flower, strafe while shooting at the
cats on the other side. You won't want to charge into them, since their horns
are hard to avoid when they shoot them at you. Once the cats have been
defeated, use your wrench to activate the iron pin in the middle of the area.
This will open a gate, and at the other side, there are lots of cannibals for
you to defeat.

Can you see that weird guy in the white professor suit? Thought so. If you
want some bolts, break the crates on your left and right sides after passing
the gate (watch out for the explosive crates tough), then talk to that
mysterious professor creature. He introduces Clank to his Sprout-O- Matic,
while Ratchet is struggling for his life inside of a red plant. After the
scene, the professor gives you his Sprout-O-Matic. Try using it on the nearby
mimic plant to have it follow you around. Walk over to the soil, and sprinkle
some more water on it to plant it. Each flower has different abilities, and
this one, makes it possible for you to blow up the wall. Do that, and jump
through the newly formed hole. Strafe while shooting to kill the two red
flowers inside, then use the Sprout-O-Matic on the mimic plant here.

Bring it back to the soil where the two red flowers were, and have it
transform into a ladder. Climb up, then clear the next area of enemies. Use
the concussion gun, since there are lots of cannibals, cats and a red flower.
Now you can bring the mimic plant over to the soil at the other end of the
area. Hit the plant it turns into, in order to fly through the air and land at
a platform. Use the vending machine to buy some ammunition, then select the
Hypershot weapon, aim it at the yellow node, and swing to the other side of
the gap. Defeat the cannibals and red flowers at the other side.

As you can see, there are mimic plants on both the left and right side. First
you should plant the one on the left side in the middle of this area, in order
to make a hole in the wall. Then, bring the one from the right side and have
it launch you into the temple. In here, you find a [Titanium Bolt] behind you,
as well as the [Wildfire Helmet] in front of you. If you check the armor menu,
you will find out that you only need one more Wildfire Armor to complete your
set. Examine the locked door in here. Ratchet can't open it, and Clank decides
to squeeze through a hole in the wall.

--- UNLOCK THE TEMPLE --------------------------------------------------------

Now that you are in control of Clank, take the elevator to the upper floor,
hit a robot to defeat him, then free three Gadgebots from the glass prison.
The Gadgebots will follow Clank, so walk onto the nearby green button. Not the
one on the elevator, but the one that opens a gate. Have them wait on top of
this button using the 'Wait' command. You find this command by holding the
Triangle button on your PlayStation Portable. At the other side of the gate,
step onto another button yourself, then command the Gadgebots to follow you
again.

Now tell your bots to attack the nearby cannibals. Walk up the stairs, defeat
some bad robots and jump into the BotFlinger. Pick up all of your Gadgebots
and throw them onto the top of the ledge, since they can't jump themselves.
When sitting on BotFlingers, you just aim around, picking out the place you
want to throw things using the Analog Nub. Once all of your friends have been
thrown ontop of the ledge, jump up there yourself, after exiting the
BotFlinger.

In the next room there is another BotFlinger. Throw two of your Gadgebots onto
the buttons on the left and right side of the circle formed passage entrance.
This will make a bridge appear. Walk over it, and have the Gadgebots follow
you. Don't mind the arrows that are being shot throughout the next passage. If
one of them hits your Gadgebots friends, they will respawn. Not that it is
likely you'll be hit after all. At the other side, throw all three Gadgebots
onto the pillar that is standing on the ground. This will open a gate. have
the Gadgebots follow you, and free three new ones at the other side of the
gate.

Have them follow you downwards, right after the huge stone has started
rolling. Be fast, and hide inside the hole in the wall until a new stone has
passed. Then, quickly run further down to a new hiding space. Down here, throw
all six Gadgebots into the small devices with numbers on them. Three bots in
each device. If some of your bots didn't make it down here, take the elevator
back up and escort them once more, since dead bots respawn. Once all six bots
have gone into the devices, a huge gate opens. Walk down to a room with a
mechanical-like device, and step on the button. Watch the cut scene where
Clank activates the ancient map room.

Now you are in control of Ratchet again. Step onto the teleporter outside of
the temple to go back to your spaceship. There is a new planet available,
called Kalidon. Why don't you just go there? You want more adventure, right?

==============================================================================
Kalidon [wa03]
==============================================================================

--- EXPLORE THE PLANET -------------------------------------------------------

Qwark runs off to find his family, as seen on Faux-Family.com. In real life,
as of March 2007, this is just a placeholder website, for your information.
Drop down right of where you start. Walk along the ledge here until you arrive
behind your spaceship, only on a lower level. There is a crater here
containing a [Titanium Bolt]. Now if you can afford it, buy the Scorcher
weapon from the vending machine. Start running down to the road, where there
is a new kind of vending machine. This one looks kind of metallish, and sells
modifications for the weapons that you have already got. I'll call it a Mod
Vending Machine from now on. Modifications are useful for getting new weapons
functions. I won't tell you what upgrades to buy all the time, but I'll come
with recommendations. Right now, buying the [Lock On Mod] is a smart thing.

Ok then, time for some mad action. With your mad gaming skills, I am sure you
can do this, and win all the glory you'll ever need in this life. Now that was
a joke. Anyways, run over to the alien with purple hair. He's kind of jumpy,
but offers Ratchet to participate in a race. In fact, there are several races.

--- WIN THE SKYBOARD RACE ----------------------------------------------------

For now, just beat the first race named 'Learners Permit' to get the Shrink
Ray gadget. You need to reach 1st place to get it. If you need help with
racing, check out the section I've dedicated to races in this walkthrough. You
can always return later to race some more and win more prizes. I've listed all
the prizes in the section I mentioned some seconds ago. I do however,
recommend finishing all of the races here before continuing with your
adventure. If you won all the races, you can buy the [Wide Barrel Mod] from
the Mod Vending Machine that you saw earlier.

Allright, run down the road, defeat some nasty spiders and use the Hypershot
to get to the other side of a gap. Shoot two flying robots there, and make
your way to a big blue building. Left of the entrance, kind of hidden behind a
corner, you will find another [Titanium Bolt]. Take it, then shrink to get
into the electromagnetic lock that is preventing you from going inside the
building.

--- SEARCH THE FACTORY -------------------------------------------------------

In here, use the wrench to break all the red objects. Make sure you don't miss
any of them, as that might result in you dying by crashing into a gate. Once
finished, the gate will open and you can walk into the room after growing back
to normal size. Keep walking, defeat some flying drones, and kill all the
robots in the room with the assembly line. Walk through another corridor to
find a new vending machine. Buy some ammunition using that machine. As you
might see, there is an elevator in the middle of this room - a circle formed
one. Walk onto the elevator and ride it down towards the basement.

Lots of drones and robots will attack from the doors that the elevator passes.
Kill them all, and watch out for the mines that get thrown down at you. You
can see the easily because of some yellow marks, so don't worry too much about
them. Once you see the message on the screen, jump off the elevator, if you
don't want to fall down and be crushed. Activate the super computer console
down here (ok, that name was something I made up), then jump onto the small
circle formed platform that appears, before the acid covers it. Make your way
to the top of the elevator again by quickly jumping on platforms, before
getting covered in acid liquids. At the top, you will find the [Wildfire
Boots]. If you've followed this walkthrough from the beginning, you now have
the whole Wildfire Armor Set. Whenever you hit enemies with your wrench from
now on, they will catch fire and start burning. This does of course require
that you have all the Wildfire Armor parts equipped.

Run into the next room, and use the Hypershot to swing over an assembly line.
Destroy all the robots - even the one inside of the cryo-glass - in the room
with the anvil-like object in to open a door. Run through the door and ride
the square formed elevator downwards. Down here you will see lots of acid
liquid, and an iron pin. Use your wrench to activate the pin to make some
platforms rise up from the acid - pretty far away from your current location.
There is a node that you can reach with your Hypershot left of this iron pin.

Grapple onto that node, and prepare for some mad jumping. From now on you see,
you will have to be quicker than Sonic The Hedgehog, and jump from platform to
platform before they fall down into the acid, and swing from node to node
using the Hypershot. Pretty much Tarzan stuff here, girlies. You bet. Anyways,
your goal is to reach the left end of the room, where another corridor starts.
If you can't seem to fly far enough when letting go of a node, you can use
your Analog Nub to swing faster, and thus launching into the air in higher
speed.

After running through the corridor I mentioned a while ago, fight off all the
drones and robots in the next room. Then, shrink and unlock another
electromagnetic lock. Once the gate opens, run to the other side, and defeat
more robots in this green circle formed room. Another gate opens, leading into
a insane looking room. If you access 1st person mode and look at the ceiling
you can see one of those Titanium Bolts. There's a magnetic track in this room
that you have to walk on. This track is constructed in a weird way, and has
many interceptions. To get the bolt, start walking from the beginning, and at
the interceptions go LEFT - RIGHT - LEFT - RIGHT - LEFT - LEFT. You will now
find the third and last [Titanium Bolt] of this planet.

From here access 1st person mode to find out where the exit is, and then go
there. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Step onto the assembly line, equip
the Concussion Gun, and blow the assembly worker robots away. Jump over a
small gap at the end of the line, and purchase the Agents of Doom from the
vending machine if you can afford them. Beyond this point, you'll find a boss.

Mungo is one of those dumb big monsters you've seen in American
cartoons. He's purple, and looks both mad and powerful. He jumps
around, trying to beat you with his hand, and with the pipe he carries
around. Avoiding him can easily be done by just running around. Equip
the Agents of Doom if you have them, and throw some of them at him.

They'll start to damage Mungo, as you can see on his health bar at the
bottom of the screen. You can also damage him using other weapons, but
the Agents of Doom are very effective. If you run out of ammo, break
one of the nearby crates to find more. When Mungo starts throwing
drones at you, equip the Lacerator and strafe while shooting at him.
The Scorcher can also be used in this phase, if you dare to walk into
close range. Mungo goes down after a little while, as he isn't really
very hard to beat.

--- SURVIVE ROBOT WAR III ----------------------------------------------------

Afterwards, Clank finds himself on the planet Metalis, in a combat arena
where Robot War III is currently being fought. This is one of the Clank
Challenges, and is in particular named 'Buzzsaw Blitz'. Just drive around,
collecting health and a weapon from the two edges of the room. Press circle
to shoot using the weapon, and Square to use the saw torso on your vehicle.
Keep damaging your opponents using these two methods, and collect health when
needed. After winning, Clank meets a monkey that shows him Ratchet on a
screen. Clank wants to save Ratchet. You can continue playing other
challenges if you want to, or exit them. It is up to you. If you want to, you
can always return here and examine the green monitor to play more of the
Clank Challenges.

--- WIN FABULOUS CASH AND PRIZES (OPTIONAL) ----------------------------------

This is an optional mission that you can skip, if you're not very keen on
getting some new armor pieces and lots of bolts right now. If you do want
that tough, beat every single of the Clank Challenges available at Metalis.
This will earn you the [Crystallix Helmet], [Crystallix Gloves] and the
[Sludge Mk. 9 Helmet]. Check the Clank Challenges section of this walkthrough
for more information.

--- ESCAPE THE PLANET --------------------------------------------------------

Turn around after using the monitor for the Clank Challenges, then jump onto
the nearby bridge. The bridge starts moving, taking you to the other side of
the mud pit. Walk right from here, and step onto the shining pad. Clank will
transform into Giant Clank, and start flying through space in search of his
friend Ratchet.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flying Through Space As Giant Clank Part I
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have been playing Kingdom Hearts on the PlayStation 2, you know what
this is all about. Flying through space, avoiding objects and taking down
enemies. The X button is used to fire a rapid Vulcan beam. You have unlimited
ammunition for the Vulcan beam, so don't be afraid of using it. When you've
taken down enough enemies, you will be able to shoot a missile using the
Square button. Anyways, let's start flying, shall we?

Fly through a circle-formed passage, the quickly take out the enemies that
comes from the lower left corner. Afterwards, be fast and take down the ones
that approach from the lower right corner. The next circle-formed passage is
a little trickier to fly through, since the obstacles only have small
openings. It is however not impossible to fly through the holes. After passing
a stone, Clank takes a turn to the right. You'll now see a red planet.
Now it is important that you take down ONE enemy wave at once. Do not panic,
but take down one wave before starting to shoot at other enemies. This way,
you will always know where the bullets come from, as there won't be enemies
scattered all over the place. When you've taken down the waves of small
enemies, start dodging stones. Keep flying in the middle of the screen,
as it is easier to see what stones you will have to dodge this way.

Use your Vulcan beam to get rid of the small stones that appear. You'll now
see a construction, and some blue bigger spaceships will attack from the lower
left corner. Do not waste your missile(s) yet. Just keep shooting at one ship
and blow it up before starting to shoot at the other ones. You won't have to
dodge a lot of bullets, if you take them down quickly. Shoot down more blue
ships, a green one, and some small ones. Clank starts flying into a passage
with lots of half-circle plates. Avoid as many of them as possible. Now you
can start using you missiles, as lots of blue spaceships will attack.

Take them all down, then avoid all the flashing rooftops. You'll meet a mini-
boss called Technomite Dreadnaught. He has a pretty quick Vulcan cannon, as
well as a missile launcher. Avoiding the Vulcan beams isn't hard by just
flying up and down, but the missiles, you'll have to take down by shooting at
them. Keep flying in circles, shoot down as many missiles as possible, and
never stop shooting at the Dreadnaught using your Vulcan gun. After the battle
you will be awarded with the [Electroshock Gloves].
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

==============================================================================
Dreamtime [wa05]
==============================================================================

Watch the scene where Ratchet dreams about Clank, telling him to follow him
into a door. This level is pretty wacky, as looks more than a dream than
anything else. Of course, that's not weird, considering that the level is
actually a dream in Ratchet's head. Jump to the small holm ahead, using the
stones in the water. The sky 'breaks' and some birds come out of the hole.
Shoot them down, then jump inside. You'll find a vending machine inside, where
you can buy the Suck Cannon. Sprinkle some water onto the nearby mimic plant
and have it follow you to the soil located just a little longer down the path.

Hit the flower that grows up with your wrench, and a node will appear. Use the
hypershot to grapple onto it. At the other side of the gap, avoid the red
light that is circling around, and jump over to parasols to get to the other
side of the gap. There are two mimic flowers here, and two spaces with soil.
Plant both of them and hit them to make two nodes appear. Jump back over the
gap, and from here use the Hypershot to grapple onto the nodes. At the other
side, which is the top of a hat, you can jump onto some moving parasols. There
are three of them. First, equip the Hypershot. Then jump onto the first
parasol. Access 1st Person view, and grapple onto the node above you. Do this
quick, or the parasol will fall into the endless deep. On top of the hat now
after grappling, you will find a [Titanium Bolt]. Now jump to the other side
of the three parasols and avoid two circling red lights there.

Walk onto a flight pad, but watch out, since the pad will get cut in several
pieces by some saws. Defeat the chainsaw enemies that appear, and step on the
piece of the pad that is furthest away from the 'ground' you came walking
from. This piece start moving. When it stops, grapple onto some nodes and
swing until you reach some ground again. Run past all the red circling lights,
and watch the cut scene where Clank tries to wake Ratchet.

Make your way forward until you see a building. Left of the entrance to this
building, there is a [Titanium Bolt]. Take it, then head inside. Break the
mirror in here, and head out at the other side. On the right side of the
waterfall, you can wall jump up to the top. Do that. Walk onto a platform.
Ride it for a while, wait for an enemy to pass, then wait for another one. You
will now reach a room with training tools in. Break the mirror in here, then
walk out to a platform with red circles on. Take down all the birds using the
scorcher, and jump onto some purple ground. Defeat all the birds and chainsaw
enemies here, and use the yellow nodes that appear to grapple all the way over
to a vending machine. Buy ammo there, then look into the air behind the black
portal. Do not enter the portal, just look into the air behind it.

There is a Titanium Bolt there. Equip the Lacerator, enter 1st person view and
shoot at the bolt. This will transport you to a place where you will have to
jump over to the bolt before the ground gets blown up. This might be a little
tricky, and you only have one try. If you fail, load your previous savegame
and try again. After getting the [Titanium Bolt], walk into the black portal.

You will arrive at a place where the ground is white. Burn some birds using
the scorcher, walk into a new portal that appears, then use the Lacerator to
take down the chainsaw enemies in the next area, where the ground is brown.
Take down some birds in the next blue area, walk into a new portal, and after
one more area, you will run into Giant Clank. Just avoid him for some time, as
there is no point in fighting. You will get the
[Crystallix Body Armor]. Ratchet wakes up afterwards. Thank god.

==============================================================================
Medical Outpost Omega [wa06]
==============================================================================

Ratchet's weapons have been taken away, so you'll have to find them again.
Pick up the Lacerator on the floor, then access the electromagnetic lock. Do
your thing in there to open the gate. Destroy a turret, pick up the Concussion
Gun behind it, and walk into a new room. Enter the turret here with Clank
while Ratchet operates the console. Shoot freeze beams at the spiders that
attack. You can target the ones in the ceiling by pressing the X button. You
shoot with circle. Afterwards, walk into the opened gate. Avoid the red floor,
pick up the Acid Bomb Glove, and clear the next room of enemies. Examine the
purple box here to get the rest of your weapons back.

The wall blows up, so defeat everyone that attacks from there. Walk through
the hole in the wall, and have a look at what the vending machine has for
sale. Buy the [Box Breaker] and the [Bolt Grabber]. The Box Breaker will
destroy all nearby crates when you jump and use your wrench, while the bolt
grabber works like a magnet - now bolts that are further away from Ratchet
will get drawn towards him. Finally, buy the [Bee Mine Glove], which is a new
weapon.

Jump onto the turret, and protect Ratchet from the spiders while he is using
the console. In the next room, defeat the enemies, wall jump up to the top of
the ledge, throw a acid bomb down to clear the enemies below at the other
side, then watch the cut scene. Pick up the [Crystallix Boots] afterwards. A
countdown timer starts running. There are four minutes before it hits zero.

Slide downwards, protect Ratchet from the turret in the next room while he is
opening a door, then wall jump to the top of a ledge. At the top, turn around
to find a [Titanium Bolt]. Shrink into a nearby lock and do your thing in
there as usual. In the next room, do some mad strafing while shooting to
defeat all the enemies in here. Now, head over to your spaceship and watch the
scene with Luna's report to her boss. Now who could that be? Ratchet and Clank
now escape. They're still at the same planet however.

--- REMATCH! SKYBOARD RACER! -------------------------------------------------

Still on Omega, you can walk a little forwards to meet that skyboard racer,
ultra-suspicious dude with purple hair. He's got some new equipment, and wants
to race you. Agree to race him, and finish all the four different races to
win the [Electroshock Boots] and the [Polarizer]. Now you can go back to
Metalis and get a Titanium Bolt if you want to (check the Titanium Bolt
section) since you have the Polarizer. Afterwards, fly to the planet named
Challax. You've never been there before, so this could get interesting.

==============================================================================
Challax [wa07]
==============================================================================

Here on Challax, you have two paths you can choose from. One of them is
'Smashing the Technomite Orbital Facilities', while the other one is
'Go to Technomite City'. Go with the first option, as smashing random stuff
never gets boring. Time to do some more space travelling as Giant Clank.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Flying Through Space As Giant Clank Part II
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dodge some flying asteroids and some satellites at the beginning, then prepare
for some serious shooting. Several waves with those small red spaceships will
attack. Strafe left and right while shooting to quickly take them down. Only
seconds later, a few of the bigger blue colored ships attack. Those are easier
to take down, as there's not very many of them. Some green star-formed ships
will also attack, but considering the fact that their laser beam is pretty
slow, they aren't too much of a threat. Take down another wave of small ships.

Several bigger blue ships will now attack one by one. Just stay still, shoot a
ship down, then wait for the other one. A good aim is all you need here, as
there's only one target you'll need to hit at once. Keep on shooting when
Clank moves forward again, as there are lots of stones and satellites in your
way. Shoot them to bits, and dodge the ones you can't seem to destroy. We
don't want any crashing here, do we? Shoot down some waves of ships. When you
reach those big ice blocks, you will have to be quick and dodge them all.
Shooting at them is no good at all. The yellow huge ships that appear are
invulnerable, so concentrate on dodging their missiles and shooting at the
small ships coming out of them.

Take down some green and blue ships. When Clank flies into a building, dodge
the roof and the floor, and avoid the laser traps here as well. When you
finally arrive in a huge, and i mean HUGE room, you will have to fight another
Technomite Dreadnaught mini-boss. If you've got any missiles left, now is the
time to use them to take down the Dreadnaught. The battle with it, is the same
as the first Dreadnaught you fought, but this time, it also launches smaller
spaceships. The battle however, isn't really much harder. Your reward for
winning is the [Electroshock Body Armor].
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

--- RIDE THE HOVERCAR --------------------------------------------------------

Back down on Challax, choose the other path, that says 'Go to the Technomite
City'. Ratchet jumps into a hovercar, and goes over to the mentioned city.
You won't have to control the car yourself.

--- EXPLORE THE MINIATURE CITY -----------------------------------------------

Buy the [Sniper Mine] and the [PDA] from the nearby Vending Machine. Shrink
into the lock to open the gate, and take the elevator behind it down to a
lower floor. Use the polarizer on the magnet down here to remove some
suitcases that are blocking a hole. After doing this the laser beams that were
blocking the gate will go away. Walk through the gate, and head over to the
next room, where many chairs are standing on the floor. The left side of this
room has a conveyor band, where a [Titanium Bolt] can be found. Take the bolt,
then use the polarizer on another magnet to get rid of some laser beams
blocking the way. Behind the laser beams, there is another Mod Vending
Machine. Buy the mods you want, or can afford, then continue running.

Two red trucks with some enemies on can be found in the next room. Take down
the enemies, then activate the metal pin in this area, before using the
polarizer to activate a magnet. A gate blows up now. Walk through it. There is
a giant statue in here, and close to it there is a mimic plant for you to
sprinkle some water onto. Have it follow you over to the gate you just entered
through and plant it there. Climb up the ladder that the plant transforms
into.

Up here, there is another mimic plant for you to deal with. It transforms into
one of those bomb flowers. First, punch a bomb into the wall behind you to
find a [Titanium Bolt], then punch a bomb so that it hits the huge statue from
earlier. The statue falls down, and now you can walk on it, to get to the top
of another ledge. What are you waiting for? Do it, now. There is another lock
at the top, so make sure you do your thing in there. Should be familiar stuff
by now, right? Step onto the elevator at the other side of the gate, and equip
a good weapon, like the Incinerator.

The elevator starts going upwards, while lots of enemies start attacking you.
Burn them to crisp, then equip the Lacerator, and shoot them enemies outside
to death. Or, at least, get rid of them. Jump out to where the enemies where
standing, and step onto the green circle. From here, slide down to the top of
a power plant. Jump from plant to plant until an aircraft starts going bananas
with its missile launcher. Now jump down to the green path, and keep running.
The aircraft will shoot missiles and cause the path to start burning at
certain places. Avoid the flames, the falling pillars, and make sure you do
not fall down and die. After some running and jumping, you will find a
continue point, where there is a vending machine as well. Buy ammo here, then
slide down from the green circle to fight the aircraft.

There are two green circles down here, where crates containing ammo for
your equipped weapon (Lacerator, in your case) will respawn. Which
means, that ammo should not be a problem for you. You'll win this
battle without any problems by strafing left and right, jumping over

--- WIN MORE FABULOUS PRIZES -------------------------------------------------

Close to your spaceship, there is a portal that leads to another Clank Battle
Arena. Play all of the Clank challenges there to get the [Mega-Bomb Boots]
and [Mega-Bomb Gloves]. By winning all the challenges you will also get
the [Mootator] which is a weapon that turns enemies into cows.

--- CATCH LUNA ---------------------------------------------------------------

Dayni moon is a place that has a day cycle, which varies between day and
night. At night, the local sheep turn into mad killer machines, while they are
friendly at day. Also note that flowers won't grow at night. If you just wait,
day will turn to night, and night will turn to day. Have patience, my friend.
Walk down the path from the vending machine, clear the area of enemies in
order to open the gate on the building down here, then, bring two mimic plants
to the other side of the building, since there are two spots of soil at the
other side. Place the dark blue flower closest to the building, and the light
blue one in the other spot of soil. The plants turn into platform-like
flowers. Jump up on the smallest one, then to the biggest one, and collect the
[Titanium Bolt] at the roof of the building.

From the biggest flower, do a jump and hover up to the nearby ledge. Take down
the sheep that Luna make attack you, and follow into another building. At the
other side, walk to a new open place with lots of sheep. There is a red mimic
plant here that you will need to plant into the nearby soil, not far from a
ledge. Make the flower that grows throw you over the gap, onto a platform with
a blue bouncy flower on. From here, jump and hover down to an area where you
see a silo building. Unlock the lock on the silo, and bring the light blue
mimic plant into the silo. Have it grow here, then jump onto it to launch up,
almost to the ceiling of the silo, where you will find a [Titanium Bolt].

Now sprinkle some water onto the flower inside the silo to remove it, then
plant both the dark and the light blue plants outside of the silo, since there
are two spaces of soil on the ground. Jump up to the nearby ledge, At the top
you will get the [Mega-Bomb Helmet]. Walk through a building where you have to
avoid some cutting machines, then buy ammo at the vending machine
at the other side. Now prepare for the battle against Luna.

- BOSS BATTLE: LUNA!

During the first phase, you will have to escape. Luna will fly after
you, sometimes shooting with a machine gun. Just jump and run to avoid
being hit. When she starts trying to harvest you with a corn harvester,
make sure you jump over, or dodge all the stones and sheep in your way,
so that you won't loose any speed. You don't want to end up inside of
that harvester, believe me. Ratchet now jumps down to a platform below
a ledge. Run around in a circle to avoid the falling stones, then watch
the scene where Luna's eyes turn red.

Now in the final phase, Luna starts attacking with her harvester
again. When she drives towards you, just jump to avoid her. When she
stands still, take a close look at the yellow electricity sparks on the
harvester. Some of them start flashing. These flashing sparks will be
shot towards you, so make sure to jump when that happens. Luna has
another attack pattern as well, which consists of launching acid bombs.

Avoiding them is however pretty easy, since you can see where the bombs
are going to land. The Shock Rocket and Lacerators are your weapons of
choice in this battle. Shoot at Luna all the time during the final
phase down on the platform. If you need ammo, there are some respawning
crates for you down on the platform. You can also use the PDA to order
ammo, as usual.

Inside Clank [wa09]
==============================================================================

--- DEFEAT ALL THE TECHNOMITES -----------------------------------------------

Talk to the security guard, only to find out that he won't be able to do
anything before you've taken down the Technomite soldiers that have invaded
Clank's robotic body. Buy the [Static Barrier] from the nearby vending machine
if you can afford it, then slide down to another area using a wire.
Turn around once you've slided down the wire. There is a ladder there, right?
Behind this ladder, a [Titanium Bolt] can be found. Just double-jump to get it.

Take down all the enemies further ahead using a weapon of your choice, then
walk into the gray corridor just ahead. In here, you will see that the wall
goes from gray color into black. This is where you will have to wall jump from
side to side until you reach the top, where you will find a [Titanium Bolt].

Walk into the nearby room with the blue pillar. Take down the small critters in
here, and walk through the light blue gate. Walk through a corridor. In the
next area, defeat all the enemies, and try not to step on the floor where it's
broken, since you'll be damaged by the electricity. Continue through another
gate, and refill your ammo at the vending machine you run into. In the area
with the giant fan on the wall, wait for an elevator to bring some enemies,
then take it to the top after defeating those unlucky troublemakers.

Walk through another corridor to find another room with a giant fan. Only this
time, the fan is the floor itself, and isn't just hanging on the wall. Step
onto the button on the fan to activate it. Ratchet starts flying into the
air, almost like a feather. Fly over to the ground, then walk around to the
other side of the circle-formed path to find a new corridor. Refill ammo at the
vending machine, and walk into another circle-formed room with a computer chip
hanging on the wall. Lots of enemies will come out of the green doors in this
room. Take them all down, and continue into the gate that opens. Shrink into
the lock and open the gate. You'll now run into Clank's heart. It looks broken.

Clear the heart room of enemies, and watch out for the red energy beams that
sometimes start appearing on the floor. Just jump to avoid them. Now use the
Polarizer to pick up the broken pieces, and put them back into the heart to
'fix it'. Now you know how to cure a broken heart! Hehehe!

--- ESCAPE FROM CLANK --------------------------------------------------------

A gate opens after you've fixed the heart. Take the elevator in there upstairs
to see the security guard again. He tells you to hurry up and get out of
Clank's body before it starts working correctly again. Now, run past some laser
beams and a fan, then use the polarizer on the magnet stick you run into. Turn
it around while standing on it, and step off it so that you're walking on the
black-colored floor. Do the same thing with another magnet stick here to get
back down to the gray/yellow floor. Walk onto the magnetic track here, and keep
going until you reach another vending machine.

Buy some ammo there, then use two more of those magnet sticks. You'll find a
green node in the air afterwards, so make sure to use your Hypershot to grapple
onto it and get to the other side of the gap. Walk through a room with lots of
laser beams, then step onto a platform. There's lots of nodes here. Grapple
onto them all, and watch out for the laser beams at the platforms you need to
land at between all the grappling. When you're done with this part, you will
arrive in a room with two blue magnets. Step onto the one that's near you, and
use the polarizer to make it start moving. Walk through another corridor.

An organ similar to Clank's heart can be found here. Step onto a magnet, use
the polarizer to make it start moving left, then even further left. Walk on the
small path, onto yet another magnet. This might be a little boring, but from
here, just use the polarizer to make your magnet move towards the armor piece
you can see beyond all the blue laser pillars. You need to be coming from the
right side just before arriving at the platform with the armor piece.
Pick up the [Mega-Bomb Body Armor], then escape through Clank's mouth.

Teleport back to your spaceship using the portal outside, then fly over to the
next planet - Quodrona.

==============================================================================
Quodrona [wa10]
==============================================================================

Ratchet and Clank have to shrink to find the factory they are looking for, so
let them do that. Buy the [Laser Tracer] from the Vending Machine, and if you
can afford it, get some weapon modifications from the Mod Vending Machine as
well. You can never get too much of those, can you? Head into the nearby
building, and take down some turrets. There is also a clone of Ratchet in here,
but he's not hard to defeat. Just use the Shock Rocket to easily take down
clones. Unlock the gate by shrinking as usual, and walk into the next room.

Take down lots of clones using the Shock Rocket weapon, then make your way
through a pretty straight-forward room filled with lava. The next room is
green, and has lots of clones that will attack you. Make sure you pick up ammo
for your Shock Rocket from the blue crates in here. Jump up to the platform
near the purple circle in the next room. Some pillars will start appearing, so
use one of them to jump on, in order to reach the platform above you.

Do this until you get to the very top. Wall-jump if needed. The next room is a
training facility for clones. You'll see that, as there are dolls that the
clones are training with. Defeat the clones, and unlock another gate. In the
next room with red lines on the floor, watch out for the mad dolls, while
constantly shooting at the clones using your Shock Cannon. Strafing is
something you'll need to do here if you want to survive.

If you like boxes, you'll love the next room, because there's lots of them
there, with clones inside! Slay all the clones, take the [Titanium Bolt] in the
lower left corner, then locate the red button in the end of the room. Jump and
swing your wrench onto the button to jam it into the floor. Walk through the
gate that opens, refill your ammo at the vending machine, and prepare for
battle after meeting Otto.

- BOSS BATTLE: OTTO - ENCOUNTER I!

At first, a timer will start counting down, while some clones and some
tougher guys attack you. Just avoid them all by running around in a
huge circle. There is absolutely no need to fight these enemies - not
at all. When the timer has reached zero, you will witness a cut-scene
with Otto and Qwark. There is a continue point after this phase, so
don't worry about having to do the whole thing once more, if you die in
one of the next happenings.

Otto is very mad, and starts chasing you. For now just have to avoid
him. Run away from him, and avoid the falling lamps from the ceiling,
and try not to fall down into the holes that appear when Otto breaks
the floor-blocks. Keep running until you reach a hangar gate. Watch the
cut-scene where Clank once again transforms into Giant Clank. There are
several buildings around here, and you can break them using your punch
in order to find ammo for your Rapid Vulcan Beam.

Target Otto using the Vulcan Beam, and shoot at him like a madman. In
this phase, Otto doesn't really do much to damage you, as his beams are
very weak. Take him down, and watch another cut-scene. Afterwards,
refill your ammo at the vending machine, and walk into the next room.

- BOSS BATTLE: OTTO - ENCOUNTER II!

Be careful here, as you'll only be able to take a couple of hits before
dying. Watch out for the energy wave that Otto sends along the floor.
If you just have your eyes with you, you'll easily be able to avoid it
by double-jumping. The wave he sends towards you in mid-air, you can
avoid by crouching (L + R). When a green 'wrap' appears on both of
Ratchet's sides, jump forwards at once.

Use a powerful weapon like the Shock Rocket to lower his shield. This
should not take more than a couple of shots if you have been using the
weapon a little during the game. Once lowered, buy more ammo using your
PDA, then unleash all the rockets you can. Otto doesn't take too many
shots before his health is halved, and his shield is gone for good.
Now, he starts attacking with three beams at once and a yellow
lightning spark. The three beams can be jumped over and crouched under
like earlier, and the spark can easily be avoided by strafing and
jumping. Avoid these attacks while shooting at Otto until he finally
dies.

On challenge mode, the RYNO makes the battle very easy, since it's so
powerful. Consider protecting yourself with the Static Barrier if
you're having a hard time avoiding Otto's attacks. Using the Lacerators
through the whole battle is also a option that might suit you better.
Watch the ending scene after the battle. Now you've completed the game!

==============================================================================

Most armor pieces can be found the first time you're playing through
the game, but some of them won't appear before you try challenge mode
after completing the main game once. In addition to this, the final
pieces will not appear before your third time playing through the game.
All the pieces are listed below, where you can also get to know where
to find them and where to get them -

Boots. Just like many other armor pieces, missing it is close to impossible.

Electroshock Helmet
-------------------
Where: Challax

Beat the Dropship boss at the end of Challax to get this helmet. Don't try
jumping over the gap between you and the armor during the battle, as you can't
reach it until after the battle, when a bridge appears.

Electroshock Body Armor
-----------------------
Where: In space, after arriving at Challax

After arriving at the planet Challax and choosing to 'Smash the Technomite
Orbital Facilities', Clank transforms, and starts flying into space. Beat

Ability: When enemy missiles hit you, the armor set will react, so that
you take less damage than usual. When swinging your wrench,

         moments ago.

Ability: With this armor equipped, try hitting some enemies with
your wrench. On the third hit, the wrench gets so hot
that a huge fireball appears, giving nearby enemies a

Weapons [pi03]
==============================================================================

There are several weapons in Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters. Most of them are
bought by using your bolts at vending machines. All the weapons have strong
points, but also weaknesses. At the beginning of the game, only a few will be
available, but as you make progress you will eventually be able to buy more
weapons. When you've used one weapon enough, as in shooting a lot of enemies
with it, the weapon will level up. For example, the first time the Lacerator
levels up, it will be renamed 'Lacerator v.2'. When a weapon levels up, it gets
more powerful, and you can carry more bullets for the weapons at once.

The first time you play Size Matters, the weapons stop leveling at v.4.
Beat the final boss, then restart the game in challenge mode. Now you
will be able to buy Titan versions of the weapons you've leveled up
to v.4 from the vending machines. The Titan weapons are much stronger than
the normal ones, and can be leveled up to Titan v.4 before they're maxed out.

Lacerator
---------
Available Since: The Beginning

A weapon that is very easy to use, the Lacerator fires super-heated plasma
slugs, not totally unlike a laser beam. Blow up enemies with this weapon, one
by one until all of them have been wiped out. Not the most powerful weapon ever
made, but the accuracy is acceptable, and the rate of fire is too.

Acid Bomb Glove
---------------
Available Since: The Beginning

This glove shoots acid bombs. Once a bomb has hit the ground, the acid sticks
onto grass, gravel or anything it might land on. If someone touches the acid,
they'll be burned. Badly. The Acid Bomb Glove isn't very quick, but is great
at damaging several enemies at once. If you're surrounded by enemies, don't
think twice before using this.

Concussion Gun
--------------
Available Since: The Beginning

The concussion fires a shotgun-like blast of titanium pellets. The weapons
deals more damage to enemies that are nearby. Just like a real shotgun, hitting
enemies that are standing far away is not worth trying. The concussion gun is
also good at taking down several enemies at once.

Agents of Doom
--------------
Available Since: Ryllus

Small robots that will attack nearby enemies once launched. There are several
robots in each 'bullet', and all of them will run together and start damaging
the nearest opponent. If you want to do lots of damage to something, launch
some agents of doom first, then use another weapon to fire at the same time
as the agents attack their target.

Scorcher
--------
Available Since: Kalidon

Made of old space ship engines, the scorcher is a pretty decent flamethrower.
When it comes to damaging enemies far away, this is a useless weapons, but for
those that are go into close combat with you, this is pure hellfire. A nice
thing about the Scorcher is that it fires a constant flame, instead of just one
short blast like bullet based weapons do.

Suck Cannon
-----------
Available Since: Dreamtime

This weapon sucks up enemies and crates, and throws them out again as
projectiles. Not the most boring weapon around. Use it when you're out of
ammunition for the other weapons in your arsenal.

Bee Mine Glove
--------------
Available Since: Medical Outpost Omega

The Bee Mines look like grenades, but are really bee hives. Almost like a
deployable turret, the hives can be left on the ground. Anyone that gets near
them (enemies that is) will be attacked by the angry bees.

Sniper Mine
-----------
Available Since: Challax

The latest in long distance target neutralization. This is a crossbow, that
does more damage when its projectiles hit enemies far away from you, than
it does damage to nearby enemies. Not a very fast weapon, but great at long
distance.

Shock Rocket
------------
Available Since: Dayni Moon

Designed to clear out packs of enemies with electrical flair. The shock rocket
is a rocket launcher that also deals lots of damage to single, armored enemies.
The accuracy is great, and the rate of fire is nice for a rocket launcher.

Mootator
--------
Available Since: Dayni Moon

A very unique sidearm, the Mootator turns enemies into cows. Cows are nice
creatures that won't attack you. Who doesn't want cow friends? I bet you
want some of them, as I'm sure I do. You need to win all the Clank Challenges
on Dayni Moon in order to get this weapon.

Static Barrier
--------------
Available Since: Inside Clank

The Static Barrier generates a physical force field around Ratchet, acting as a
shield that blocks missiles, bullets and other incoming fire. You can not buy
more ammo for this weapon using the PDA.

Laser Tracer
------------
Available since: Quodrona

The Laser Tracer is a laser cannon that can be carried by one single person, or
one single Lombax in Ratchet's case. You have to stand still while shooting
with this extremely powerful weapon.

RYNO
-----
Available since: Challenge Mode

The RYNO is a weapon that uses multiple fast-launch swarmer missiles to damage
your enemies. Without a doubt, the most powerful weapon in the game. Think of
it as one of the craziest rocket launchers ever made.

Weapon Modifications [pi04]
==============================================================================

Lock On Mod
-----------
Cost: 5000 Bolts
Available Since: Kalidon

This is the first mod of the game. With the lock on mod, your aim will lock
onto nearby enemies while you are strafing. This makes it much easier to hit
enemies, as you've might experienced missing a lot earlier.

Wide Barrel Mod
---------------
Cost: 15,000 Bolts
Available since: Kalidon

A little more expensive, but much cooler than the lock on mod. As you might
have guessed already, this modificated your Concussion Gun, and increases the
width of the weapon's blast. In other words, you can defeat more enemies at
once, when you have bought this upgrade.

Charge Up Mod
-------------
Cost: 50,000 Bolts
Available since: Challax

This is another modification for the Concussion Gun. Once you've bought this
one, you can hold the circle button to charge several shells inside the
concussion gun, and unleash them all at once by letting go of the button.

Double Barrel Mod

the damage, and get double the fun! One of the best modifications in the game.

Acid Burn Mod
-------------
Cost: 30,000 Bolts
Available since: Challax

If you haven't been using the Acid Bomb Glove weapons much, you will after
getting this upgrade! The acid inside the bombs is changed to burning acid,
which makes anyone that touches it start burning. Your enemies will keep on
burning even after getting out of the acid.

Epoxy Mod
---------
Cost: 50,000 Bolts
Available since: Challax

Another modification for your Acid Bomb Glove. When enemies walk into your
acid, they will go all dizzy, and slow down their movement. Now they'll be
50% slower than usual.

Worker Mod
----------
Cost: 5000 Bolts
Available since: Challax

The bees from the Bee Mine Glove weapons will now be able to collect bolts,
ammo and health orbs. In addition, they'll be circling outside of their hives
a little longer than before, until they finally disappear.

Split Beam Mod
--------------
Cost: 25,000 Bolts
Available since: Quodrona

A modification for the Sniper Mine, the split beam makes your mines able to hit
enemies standing behind, or close to your original target.

After Shock Mod
---------------
Cost: 25,000 Bolts
Available since: Quodrona

weapon will do more damage than earlier, because of some electrics being added
to each and every projectile.

Spitfire Mod
------------
Cost: 15,000 Bolts
Available since: Quodrona

When the scorcher stops firing, a huge plasma fireball will be unleashed. Using
the scorcher for a long time before holding your fire means a big plasma
fireball, while using it for a short time only means a smaller one.

Launcher Mod
------------
Cost: 20,000 Bolts
Available since: Quodrona

With this mod, your agents of doom will take rockets with them when you unleash
them. Needless to say, they'll do much more damage than earlier.

Hive Bomb Mod
-------------
Cost: 300,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

The hive that is thrown with the Bee Mine Glove weapon will explode once all
the bees have done what they can to damage nearby enemies.

Reflection Mod
--------------
Cost: 250,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

Your Static Barrier shield will reflect laser-based attacks. If someone tries
to shoot you with a laser-based weapon, they will, in other words, be sorry.

Sunflare Mod
------------
Cost: 200,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

A really hot modification, the sunflare mod will make the flame coming from
your
Scorcher get bigger and bigger while you're using it.

Bounce Mod
------------
Cost: 600,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

The enemies that are sucked into your Suck Cannon, will bounce off any surface
they might hit when shot out again of the cannon, inflicting extra damage to
anyone they might hit.

Mirage Mod
----------
1250,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

Recreating after-images of Ratchet, this modification leaves behind several
holographic Ratchet decoys, confusing your enemies.

Pierce Mod
----------
1250,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

Concentrating the power of the weapon a lot, the pierce mod makes the Laser
Tracer able to fire through enemies, so that you can hit things, even if they
are standing behind someone.

Ricochet Mod
------------
500,000 Bolts
Available since: Challenge Mode

Another modification for the Laser Tracer, this mod makes the laser beams you
fire ricochet off surfaces, crating absolute chaos in small rooms and areas.

==============================================================================

Gadgets are not completely different from weapons, but are usually not used
to take down enemies. Instead, the gadgets let you do things like shrinking,
passing gaps and growing mimic plants. Just like with weapons, you can check
your gadgets in a section under the Start menu.

Hypershot
---------
Available Since: The Beginning

The hypershot fires an energy cable that can be connected to swing targets,
also called nodes. Once connected, you can use the cable as a rope, and swing
to the other side of gaps. If you've ever seen or heard of Tarzan, you know
how this little gadget works.

Sprout-O-Matic
--------------
Available Since: Ryllus

A professor in Vetega Jungle gives this to Ratchet. This gadget shoots water
that can be used to stimulate mimic plants. Once you've sprinkled some water
onto a plant, it will start following you. Sprinkle on the plant again when
it stands ontop of some soil, in order to use the plant's ability. The plants
all have different abilities, which is pretty exciting.

Shrink Ray
----------
Available Since: Winning the 'Learner's Permit' Skyboard Race at Kalidon

Ratchet can use this to shrink himself, and enter electromagnetic locks. Once
inside, he can unlock them with his wrench and boots. A very important gadget
that you will need to use pretty often.

Bolt Grabber
------------
Available Since: Medical Outpost Omega

The bolt grabber increases the power of Ratchet's magnetosphere by almost 50w,
doubling the range at which he can pick up bolts. In other words, you can grab
bolts that are twice as far away from you as earlier.

Box Grabber
-----------
Available Since: Medical Outpost Omega

The boxbreaker automatically breaks all nearby crates when you perform a Hyper
Strike with your wrench. Just jump and swing your wrench to perform the strike.

Polarizer
---------
Available Since: Winning the first skyboard race at Medical Outpost Omega

This is a weird device that has to ability to change a magnet from push to
pull or back again. Just target the magnet and use the polarizer.

PDA
---
Available Since: Challax

The PDA is basically a portable vending machine, that you can use to order
ammunition, on the go. Think of it as a shop in your pocket.

Map-O-Matic
-----------
Available Since: Dayni Moon

Once you've bought this gadget, you will be able to view all the areas of the
planet you are on, by simply checking the maps screen. All secret areas will
also be displayed on the map, unlike earlier.

Titanium Bolts [pi06]
==============================================================================

The Titanium Bolts are used to unlock skins for Ratchet and Clank. You
can unlock the skins in the main menu under 'special' once you've got
enough Titanium Bolts. The skins look nice, but have no effect on gameplay.
Note that there are 20 Titanium Bolts in the game, while only 16 of them
can be spent. The remaining 4 aren't used for anything else than
completing your collection.

Titanium Bolt 1
---------------
Where: Pokitaru

After Luna has been kidnapped by robots, you will have to walk up
your first magnetic wall. On the top, defeat some robots. There is a yellow
circle up here, and left of this circle, you can do a Long Jump to reach a
platform hanging on the mountainside. On this platform, you will find the bolt.

Titanium Bolt 2
---------------
Where: Pokitaru

After stepping on the moving platform that takes you out to sea, you will find
a circle formed island with lots of blue crabs on. On the second island from
here, there are two houses. Behind the one on your left side, there is a bolt.

Titanium Bolt 3
---------------
Where: Ryllus

At the beginning, go behind Ratchet's spaceship. Drop down to a stone platform,
which is where this bolt has been hidden. Make sure to look down using 1st
person view first, so that you don't miss the platform.

Titanium Bolt 4
---------------
Where: Ryllus

After launching into the temple and getting the Wildfire Helmet, just look
behind you. Kinda tricky place to hide a bolt, but very easy to get, once you
know where it is.

Titanium Bolt 5
---------------
Where: Kalidon

At the beginning, drop down on your right side, close to your spaceship.
Follow the ledge to find a crater, where the bolt can be found.

Titanium Bolt 6
---------------
Where: Kalidon

Before entering the factory, you can find this bolt just left of its
entrance, behind a small corner.

Titanium Bolt 7
---------------
Where: Kalidon

Inside the factory there is a mad looking room with a magnetic path for you to
walk on. From the entrance of this room, walk LEFT - RIGHT - LEFT - RIGHT -
LEFT - LEFT to find this bolt. You can enter first person mode to have a look
around,in case you get lost on your way.

Titanium Bolt 8
---------------
Where: Dreamtime

When you are walking on the giant hat, there are three parasols that you can
jump on nearby. Stand on the first one, use the hypershot while being in 1st
person mode, then grapple onto the node straight above you. You will swing onto
the top of the hat, where the bolt can be found. Do this quickly, as the
parasol will start falling after a little while.

Titanium Bolt 9
---------------
Where: Dreamtime

Just before entering the building with the first mirror, you can find a bolt
on your left side - left of the building, in other words.

Titanium Bolt 10
----------------
Where: Dreamtime

Behind the first black portal in the Dreamtime level, there is a Titanium Bolt
floating in the air. Access 1st person view and shoot at it using your
Lacerator. You will teleport to a place where you will have to be quick and
jump over to the bolt before the ground blow up. If you fail, you will have to
load an older savegame and try again.

Titanium Bolt 11
----------------
Where: Medical Outpost Omega

After the countdown timer has started, you will get to a room where you need to
wall jump to the very top of a ledge. Up here, turn around to find the bolt.
This is the room just before you find your spaceship. If you don't collect this
bolt, but finish the level without getting it, the whole Omega Outpost will
blow up. If that happens to you, you will be able to find this bolt behind the
portal that leads back to Dreamtime. This portal replaces the Omega Outpost
after the explosion.

Titanium Bolt 12
----------------
Where: Metalis

After getting the Polarizer gadget, go back to Metalis. Close to your
spaceship, there is a gate that has been locked by a magnet. Target it with the
polarizer and 'shoot' with it to open the gate. Behind it, fight some enemies,
pass some smashing devices and swing to the other side of some gaps, and you
will find a Titanium Bolt at the very end of the path.

Titanium Bolt 13
----------------
Where: Challax

Near your spaceship, drop down left. Continue walking until you see a small
path. This is where you find the bolt.

Titanium Bolt 14
----------------
Where: Challax

At the beginning of the level, after you've arrived at Technomite City, there
is a room with lots of chairs in. The left part of this room is where you will
find a conveyor belt. Just wait a little, and a bolt will appear on this belt.

Titanium Bolt 15
----------------
Where: Challax

In the area with the huge statue, climb up the ladder that the first mimic
plant transforms into, then plant another one at the top. This plant on the top
transform into a bomb flower. Punch a bomb so that it hits the wall behind you
to find the titanium bolt.

Titanium Bolt 16
----------------
Where: Dayni Moon

At the beginning of the level, you will have to walk past some sheep to arrive
outside of a building. Bring the two mimic plants here to the other side of
the building, and let the dark blue one grow in the spot of soil that is
located closest to the building, while the light blue plant takes the other
spot. Now you can jump up onto the flowers and get the bolt at the roof of
the building.

Titanium Bolt 17
----------------
Where: Dayni Moon

After hovering a long distance through the air, you will find a silo building.
Open the silo by unlocking the lock, and bring a light blue mimic plant
inside. Let it grow, then jump on it to find a bolt, close to the ceiling.

Titanium Bolt 18
----------------
Where: Inside Clank

After sliding down using the wire at the very beginning, turn around and walk
over to the ladder leading back up to where you cam from. At the other side of
this ladder there is a bolt.

Titanium Bolt 19
----------------
Where: Inside Clank

Just after getting Titanium Bolt 18, walk into the gray corridor just ahead. In
here, you will see that the wall goes from gray color into black. This is where
you will have to wall jump from side to side until you reach the top, where you
will find a Titanium Bolt.

Titanium Bolt 20
----------------
Where: Quodrona

Take a look above the crates in the lower left corner of the room where all the
clones are hiding inside boxes.

Clank Challenges [ni01]
==============================================================================

On some planets, you can examine a special kind of monitor to access a battle
arena, where Clank can play some challenge games. When Clank wins a challenge
he earns a reward, that is usually a number of bolts, but sometimes armor
parts as well. The bolt reward listed below is the one you'll earn the first
time you win the challenge. Later, the amount of bolts is lowered

You know the deal about throwing Gadgebots into the goal. This
challenge is the same. There is a small blockade just in front of the
goal. If you throw the bot from the other side of that blockade, you

Have the first bot swing over the gap, blow him up to make a hole in

is much faster. There are also normal enemy vehicles. Concentrate on
taking them out first, and never forget to pick up the health orb that

This one looks impossible, or close to it, but is actually not hard at
all. Let the first two bots swing over a gap, walk onto the arrow-pad
and when they reach the gap left of the house, have them turn into bridge
blocks - both of them. Now, let the third bot drop down into the first
gap instead of swinging over it. Blow up the floor above the two bridge

There are four goals in this challenge. It might look like there's
only one gadgebot, but the truth is that there are many of them.
Whenever someone takes a bot from the respawning point, a new one
will appear. This means that you should just hurry up and throw as many
bots into the goals as possible. If someone picks up another bot,
just ignore them and mind your own scoring business.

+--------------------------------------------------------------------------+
                         Strategy/Hints
+--------------------------------------------------------------------------+

First of all, ignore the swinging rope at the beginning. You won't be
using it just yet. Let the first bot blow up on the floor just left of the
rope. Let the next one fall into the hole you made, and have it turn into
a bridge block at the small gap. The next one should walk on this block,
fall down onto the arrow-pad, and walk left to a new gap. Have it bridge
this gap. Allright, the next bot needs to walk over both bridge blocks
and when it reaches the portal, electrify to have it teleport.

Now, use the next-to-last bot to bridge the floor just left of the rope
(the one you blew up earlier). The bot that teleported, has to transform
into a bridge block at the right side of the rope. This might be a little
tricky, since you'll have to do it pretty fast, but it is the only way
that the last bot will be able to reach the rope, swing over the gap, and
arrive safely at the other side where the house is.

Skyboard Races [ni02]
==============================================================================

On some of the planets, it is possible to race against computer controlled
opponents in skyboard races. Almost like a skateboard race, but here you can
fly and use speed boosts. There are also colored pads that will either slow you
down or speed you up. The red ones speed you up, while the blue ones slow you
down. There's fuel scattered around in all the races. Pick it up, as fuel is
what makes it possible to do manual speed boosts. By winning a race, you will
earn rewards. The races do provide a challenge, but are never too hard to beat.
If you're having a hard time winning, try following these hints:

-> Collect fuel all the time, as you won't be able to do speed boosts without.

-> Always drive on ramps to gain air. In the air, you won't have to worry
about all the obstacles down on the ground.

-> Whenever you see a red pad, drive onto it to go faster.

-> Jump over blue pads, as touching them will slow you down.

-> If there is something you need to fly over, first jump, then use some fuel
to speed boost - You can fly up and down as you wish while speed boosting.

-> When close to the goal line during the final lap, speed boost all the time,
as saving your fuel won't do you any good.

-> Flying through those circles in the air is often easier than it looks.
Never fly up and down when not necessary. Often you can just speed boost
straight forward, and you'll go through circles without even having to
think about flying up or down.

Skill Points [ni03]
==============================================================================

There are 25 Skill Points in the game. In order to get them all, you will have
to do certain things at every planet and level. The Skill Points are used for
unlocking the cheats that you'll find in the main menu.

-------------------------
Pokitaru Skill Points
-------------------------

Train Faster
------------
Complete the first part of Pokitaru, where Luna takes pictures of Ratchet,
faster than 1:32. By running all the time, you won't have any problem with
this, as there are no big obstacles or hard enemies in the way.

Don't Rock The Boat
-------------------
Complete the boat challenge on Pokitaru. To do this, you'll have to avoid
taking any damage after stepping onto the yellow platform that takes you
around to the various holms on Pokitaru. You get the skill point after passing
all the platforms before the end of the level.

Do Cows Get Crabby?
-------------------
Transform 26 crabs into cows using the Mootator. One of the easiest Skill
Points in the game. The very first holm you get to after stepping on the moving
platform has lots of crabs, so don't forget turning all of them into cows.

-------------------------
Ryllus Skill Points
-------------------------

Bury The Pygmies
----------------
Get four Bury Blossoms to eat 4 Pygmies. The easiest way to do this is to head
towards the temple. When you get to the platform where you can swing over a gap
to arrive outside of the temple, let some Pygmies roll out of the two holes in
the wall. Once they are all here, swing back onto the node using the Hypershot.
Just hang in mid-air, and watch the Pygmies walk around, like they are bored.
If you just wait a while, they'll go near the Bury Blossoms (the meat-eating
flowers) and get eaten.

Lights, Camera, Action!
-----------------------
Break 10 Floating Cameras. At the beginning of the level, there are several
cameras monitoring you. Since they'll respawn when you take them down, just
keep on breaking them until you get the skill point.

Ship It
-------
Break all the crates on the planet. This one isn't harder than it sounds, but
takes some time. Go mad with your wrench!

-------------------------
Kalidon Skill Points
-------------------------

Explosive Ordnance Disposal
---------------------------
In the room with all the magnetic paths and lots of interceptions, you need to
destroy all the bombs that are circling around in the area. Use your Lacerator
and your wrench.

Super Lombax
------------
Defeat 25 enemies in a row without getting damaged. This is actually harder
than it might sound, as there's a lot of close quarters battle inside the
factory building.

Cool Skyboarder
----------------
Get the 1st place in a Skyboard race without using any fuel or speed boosts.

-------------------------
Metalis Skill Points
-------------------------

Shutout
-------
Win a gadgebot toss Clank Challenge without letting anyone else score. You'll
need to keep on moving all the time, and punch anyone that might pick up a
gadgebot, before you try scoring yourself. Never give the opponents a single
chance to get near the goal while carrying a gadgebot!

Terror Of The Skies
-------------------
Score more than 950 points while flying in space as giant Clank. If you're not
on challenge mode, only 600 points will be needed. To get a lot of points, use
the missiles when there's a lot of small enemies around! Don't save the
missiles for the boss.

Ultimate Gladiator
------------------
Win in all of the Clank Challenges on Metalis.

-------------------------
Dreamtime Skill Points
-------------------------

Friends Don't Hurt Friends
--------------------------
At the end of the level, where Giant Clank is trying to crush Ratchet, avoid
taking damage to get this skill point. The hardest thing is dodging the beams
Clank shoots, so watch out for those.

Night Terrors
-------------
Take down all the enemies at the platforms just before the levels ends. Lots of
enemies are spawning outside of the platform you are standing on. Be quick and
take them down, before jumping into the black portal to continue. You have 45
seconds to take down these enemies.

-------------------------
Omega Skill Points
-------------------------

An Awesome Skyboarder
---------------------
Beat the Master Challenge skyboard race in less than 3 minutes and 25 seconds.

-------------------------
Challax Skill Points
-------------------------

Take Them Down A Shock
----------------------
Take down 23 Shock Troopers without dying. Doing this is easies if you've
gotten the Titan Versions of your weapons, and leveled them a little.

High Tech Weapons Master
------------------------
Beat the enemy segment without using the following weapons: Lacerator, Acid
Bomb Glove, Concussion Gun, Shock Rocket, Laser Tracer, Sniper Mine, RYNO.

No More Varmints!
-----------------
While flying through space as Giant Clank, score 2000 Points. If you are not on
challenge mode, getting 1600 Points is enough. To get a lot of points, use
the missiles when there's a lot of small enemies around! Don't save the
missiles for the boss.

-------------------------
Dayni Moon Skill Points
-------------------------

Ultimate Gladiator (II)
-----------------------
Win in all of the Clank Challenges on Dayni Moon.

Wool Protest
------------
Get through the level without killing ram/sheep. If you feel like, you can use
the Mootator on them, but don't kill them, you hear!

Bouncy, Bouncy, Bouncy
----------------------
Do 10 High Jumps while standing on one of the really big, bouncy flowers on
Dayni Moon. A pretty weird thing to do, don't you think?

-------------------------
Inside Clank Skill Points
-------------------------

Not The Shock Of Me Now
-----------------------
Complete the level without taking any damage at all. Make sure you never walk
close to the enemies. Take them out at long range instead.

Ratchet.. Just Ratchet
----------------------
Beat all the enemies from the beginning of the level until you reach the room
where Clank's heart is, using only the wrench.

-------------------------
Quodrona Skill Points
-------------------------

Elite Annihilation
------------------
Defeat over 70 Elite Clones

Storm The Front!
----------------
Start running from the first door, and try reaching the room just before the
battle with Otto in less than 1 minute and 45 seconds. You can clear the level
of enemies, and then go back before you try this.

The Tree House [ni05]
==============================================================================

After getting all Skill Points, or setting your PSP's time to 2:42 AM, you
can head over to Metalis, and walk or teleport over to the secret arena with
all the crates, that is located behind the locked magnetic gate near the
spaceship. If you don't have all the skill points, but go there after setting
the PSP's time to 2:42 AM, make sure you arrive before 2:47 AM. If you're too
slow, you won't be able to go to the Tree House. Well, at the secret area,
near all the crates there is a new teleporter. Step onto it, and teleport.
If you've got all skill points, you won't have to bother with this though,
as you can just transport over to the Tree House from the cheats menu.

The Tree House is basically a bonus area, where you can read information
about concept art, the development process High Impact went through to
create Size Matters, and you can even pick up a special, pretty useless
weapon, named 'CUT'. Whatever you do though, do not use the Sprout-O-Matic,
as doing that will freeze the game, forcing you to reset your PlayStation
Portable.

Seems like it's been about one year exactly since the last update. I've just
added a little something to the Titanium Bolts section, explaining that the
bolt found in the Omega Outpost level can actually be found after the station
blows up.
