[2a] What's Yian Garuga? Yian Garuga is the altered version of Yian Kut Ku. that is much stronger than any Kut-Kus. His body was deep-purple colored and lots of spikes over all his body. has bigger beak,and was half-broken, it shows that he's individual,wild creature. His moves are the combinations of Yian Kut Ku's and Rathian's. so you'll see some familiar moves from him. Yian Garuga,according to the Minegarde Biologist,Halos Nach Tariff : "Yian Garuga, I was wondering when that would pop-up, throughout the various other Wyvern Theory topics I have been plagued with posts stating Rathian + Kut Ku= Garuga. This is simply not true, take a look at what we know; firstly the anatomy of the Garuga, it is clearly an avian, bird-like, wyvern it has a large beak and a bird-like pelvis, in this aspect it is similar to the Kut-Ku.The only aspects it shares with the Rathian are it's poisonous tail and aerial backflip attack. Kut-Ku itself is also a Bird Wyvern whereas Rathian is a 'True' Wyvern, it shares no characteristics with the Kut-Ku. I think I would be fairly safe in saying that the two are not only seperate species but from completely seperate genuses. Biology tells us that two creatures from different species cannot produce fertile young, mules, ligers and tigons all prove this. Creatures from seperate genuses cannot mate at all, thay are just too different, there is no way that the Yian Garuga is the spawn of a Rathian and a Kut-Ku. Where did it come from then? In my previous topics there were a few possible answers to this question: Firstly the game itself states that the Garuga is a Sub-Species of Kut-Ku, it's as simple as that, Garuga is simply a creature which evolved from the same ancestor as Kut-Ku but in a harsher environment. This is one view. Secondly it can be argued that the Garuga is a mutant Kut-Ku, perhaps there is a gene found in the Kut-Ku which, when stimulated, causes the Kut-Ku to become a Garuga, in a similar way to Axotl becoming Salamanders when they leave the water. Thirdly it is possible that a Yian Garuga is a cast-out Kut-Ku which has learned to fend for itself, becoming more adapted in the process. This is the least likely theory as it doesn't explain the Garuga's altered appearence, although it does explain the scars on a Garuga's body. [2b] Why Yian Garuga? Even though that most hunter could overcome Garuga,some hunter couldn't. Yian Garuga is a bit tricky creature,that you can't fight it with a regular basis of strategyused on Kut Ku. that's why I'm making this guide. Since it got almost no original attack,I'll divide the move list into 3 parts: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [4a] Yian Kut Ku-look-a-like Moves ``````````````````````````````````` -Peck peck like a chicken. pretty same with Yian Kut Ku and Gypceros. he use this very often. and if he turns to you slowly,that means he'll do this move. Damage? moderate. Tips? don't stand for too long in his front. use roll wisely -Chicken Run run like a sissies. similiar with Kut Ku and Gypceros. he uses this usually when he's going to retreat to another area Damage? umm,low. Tips? I doubt that you'll get hit by this because usually,a bite will follow after this move -Tail Whip well,he uses the Kut Ku's one too. but note that Garuga's tail whip is far more dangerous than Kut Ku. because there's a high chance you'll get poisoned if you're hit by it. Damage? Moderate,plus Poison will make it high. Tips? as soon as you noticed that he's going to do this,roll outside or inside his body to escape his hitboxes -Charge Through again,same as Kut Ku. but the difference is that he'll do this VERY often and without any warnings. beware. everyone died because of this. and yes,it HURTS. Damage? High,beware. Tips? if you noticed that he's turning fast to your position,don't just stand still. run in circular way. Note that he'll do this way MORE often when in Rage. -Taunt he uses Kut Ku's taunt. and as usual,he ask you to assault his head. Damage? no,you do the damage. Tips? no need to ask,GET HIM! Note that usually he'll follow this move directly with Quick Scream. so for those who didn't use Earplug,be careful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [4b] Rathian-look-a-like-Moves ``````````````````````````````` -Fireball shoot a straight fireball. pretty similiar Damage? Moderate. Tips? his straight fireball is very linear. just roll to the right/left OR just block it. -Spreading Fireballs shoot multiple fireballs in 3 directions. same as what Rathian always does. Damage? Moderate. Tips? his triple fireballs don't have long range,unlike the single one. so you might want to stay beside him or just keep a quite distance. -Somersault he pulls back,jump and if you're not careful you'll kiss his tail along with 99% chance to get Poison. Damage? High,plus Poison. eww.. Tips? it's the same thing as Rathian's so don't stay for too long in front of him. note that he'll produce several winds during this move. -Bite he does the Kut Ku's chicken run first then bite you like a maniac. Damage? Low. Tips? a little side step will solve all problems. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ [4c] Yian Garuga's Original Moves `````````````````````````````````` and guess what? -Quick Scream he'll stand up (just like Gypceros's flashes) and scream. this happens usually after he's taunting and it's very fast,and I'm not sure if you could dodge it/block it on time if you're not careful. Damage? vary. depends on his next move Tips? Earplug is more than enough to negate his scream -Back Jump Scream same as Kut Ku's back jump. but this time,combined with scream. so,roars + winds = bad news for you Damage? none. you'll be able to escape on time. supposedly. Tips? A : They're basically same. their moves and carveable items were same. though their HP were slightly different from each other and the Downloaded one has higher HP. Q : So,what's the point of hunting the downloaded one? A : you'll need to hunt 10 Kut Kus to unlock it in the Elder quest. also you need to finish 2 Urgent Quest to reach him.so the downloaded one can be taken at the very early game. but I see no point of doing that. Q : Why using Yian Garuga equipments? A : 1) His armor sets are good deal for those who just starting out. it has the earliest Sharp Sword,RA,and Earplug combo. 2) His weapons have the 2nd greatest affinity value after Akantor Q : I can't get Garuga Wing!
