How can I get through the anceint door in the dark cave? Am I ment to get through it at all? I'm really stuck at the mo so what do I do?

Get to the third island and find the llama crown in the temple. The crown works as a key to the cave door.

As an add on to the last answer, just inspect the door after obtaining the crown, and your sim will put the hat on and unlock the door.
