B.A.N.D. Performances
You will gain the ability to do B.A.N.D. Performances during Chapter 2. This ability when activated will trigger different effects that will depend on which Dragoneer you have set as the B.A.N.D. Leader, for example it will increase physical attacks and prevent sumbling for Yuma. To activate B.A.N.D. Performances your B.A.N.D. Gauge has to be at least Level 1. B.A.N.D. Performances will also calm down a berserk Yuma and let him turn back into a human. This means you can stay in Dragon mode longer until Yuma goes berserk to maximize your transformation, then trigger a B.A.N.D. Performance with R1 and calm him down.
Run
Run from the enemies that you encounter that are denoted with a red dot that's larger than usual as those enemies will have the ability to wipe out your characters with one hit as they have levels that are a lot higher. You will usually come across this type of enemy in exits to other areas you shouldn't visit yet but it can also occur in an area you just happen to be passing through.
Shining Dragon
You can transform Yuma into the Shining Dragon for a limited amount of time by consuming his MP when you press L1 + R1. The amount of time Yuma can spend as a dragon is determined by how many Mana Points he has left.
Break Status
Look to use attacks that will inflict 'Break' status on foes. This can be done by using a Force attack that exploits a foe's weakness and adding Break attacks into your combos by pressing the Triangle button. If you can break enemies you will find that fights, including those against harder enemies will be more manageable.
AP and MP Guages
Keep in mind that your AP (Action Points) and MP (Mana Points) gauges have a synergistic relationship. When you use your regular attacks it will help replenish your MP, likewise, using a magic attack refills your AP gauge to full. A good tactic is to alternate between the two by using a combo.
Lock-On Feature
You will be able to progress without too many problems until you get to Chapter 2's last boss where you will then experience a tough time tagging him with your Shining Dragon's dash attack. You can make this a lot easier if you lock onto him by pressing R2. Locking-on to enemies will make hitting them so much easier, especially when you are fighting in Dragon mode.
